The air shivered in front of Hylusis' eyes. Slowly, she took in the light and color and sound and place, lethargically recording the events that followed subconciously. Light fractured off the teen's energy. The ghosts shattered. This happened, then that. In rapid succession, the clouds swept past rain and sleat and snow, and dissipated into a blue sky.

Her mind withdrew into the darkness. For a moment, the arrow had disappeared from beneath her feet, but before Hylusis could trace it's tail, it had returned, nestling into her light noise of energy a bit heavier than before.

Her hands slid into her pockets without effort. Sure, she didn't feel too well, but she had seen what the teen's did. She didn't want to make excuses. Hylusis looked over at Ciyrul, who was quiet. It was his christmas present she thought, begrudgingly.

It was just this, then that, then this. In rapid succession. Like film reels. She sighed, her frustration still lingering like a cold wind. Xaxis and the other teens wouldn't let her do (or say) anything now.

And yet, a black thought, thick and slithering, moved its way inbetween film reels, bursting from her mind after some time's incubation. After instinct dissipates into the blue sky, all that remains is boiled water. If the arrow was correct, and Shanuh wasn't in the direction they were heading, what was? More importantly, where was Shanuh, after all? Could the arrow be trusted? Or was it a trap, too?

Questions formed bubbles on the surface of her brain in clusters, rising from dark depths. She watched the stones move across her feet with tumbling vertigo. Death on a rocky mountainside...

The dull ache of illness was there. The Heron felt it - he could see it, the sickly yellowish tint of viral origin making spider-like patterns through the exposed tissue of his hand. Like the acid it burned. Unlike the acid...it was not so easily wiped away.

He clutched the raw muscle, teeth clenched in a hoarse whimper. Brave or not, he wasn't immune to pain, and by all the gods of death; it hurt like a mother!!

There were no tangible scarps to bandage the appendange in this world. Nothing to aid him as he forced himself to look away from it and into the placid insanity of the world.

In the distance he could see what resembled, loosely, a flock of...bats? Yes. The leathery wings were there, but the energy convulsed and writhed unpleasantly, if not in euphorical madness as it flew into the endless nothing.

Their existance as short lived as his attentions. POP! They simply shattered into countless particles and were no more.

The Heron had nothing more to focus on there, now grudgingly brought back to it all as he fell back to his place near Diacyn and quietly nursed his wound. Liquid excretion made internal as infected strands wove through and within his barely trembling energy.

(( ninja ))

It was like a 70s disco club minus the drugs and alcohol. Blindingly, technicolor lights flew around the trogan while a monsterous tree... vine... thing threatened them from the front. Already chaos had broken loose as the other birds tossed what they could at the strange glowing thing. Very little seeming to have much effect.

Trelanz observed the group. He still wasn't to familiar with, well all of the birds, so his thoughts of helping them weren't at the top of his priorities. But the lights from this damn vine-thing were rather annoying, and as far as he was concerned he'd much rather be sitting on that damn cold dock trying to catch shrimp in a bucket. Which somehow proves far more difficult even when you downsize the bucket.

So, finally coming to a conclusion, taking his nailgun from his belt he pulled out a single nail and pricked his arm so enough blood could coat the tip of the nail. Loading it into the gun, and taking aim, the trigger was pulled and the tiny metal projectile sailed into the offending vines base. The vine quivered slightly and an odd green aura slowly began to creep from where the nail dug itself in. But just as soon as it had come, the weird light disappeared like the vine had gained an immunity in record time.

'Maybe this place has also sped up time.' Trelanz thought as he returned the nailgun to his belt.

((Let's try this again, shall we? *glares at computer and hopes it works! Oh, and pardon any . . . . GM's perogative. ; ) Just want to get this show on the road so we can wrap it!))

The group continued forward. The azure and magenta mass had long since disappeared, tending wounded pride and fatigued energy. The interesting toy had hurt too much . . . . they could roam free, for now. With Savius at the lead, and Diacyn picking up the rear, the group once again became untouchable.

The massive city scape glittered before the group like a diamond washed in light. Lights could be seen, glowing within the silhouetted mass of the chaos town - horns could be heard, music echoing faintly upon the ears of the newcomers. It looked like any everyday sort of city, and yet, the further they progressed, the farther and farther away it became. Smaller, smaller, smaller - if the group had moved a mile they'd moved an inch.

New energy occassinoally studied the posse, but any interest they caused was brief. Nothing bothered the hoard so long as they kept their hands and arms to themselves.

One minute, two, a day, a month, twenty years could have passed within a breath. Like the lost wandering a desert, the world looked the same and different all at once. An illusion of the eye, nothing could be taken for what it seemed. In one blink they were reaching for town, the next they had long since passed its gates.

No rhyme, no reason, pure chaos.

But then, this was the holiday they picked.

The one constant was energy, in particular, Shanuh's. The further they walked, the stronger it became. . . as if drawing them closer, bringing them in.

How much longer would they go. . . .?
What would they discover?

As the minds of each Guardian worked, it was then that it happened.

The void in which they walked suddenly shimmered, stiffened, and walls formed around them. Plain, simple, white washed walls with silly green elephant print along the ceiling trim. The walls quickly turned in to a corridor, which lead straight to an open room.

The room itself was plush - a large bed (so large it could fit the entire group with room to spare!) coverd in animal print pillows. A few chairs were scattered amongst the room, a fireplace, a dresser, a closet. Even a small aquarium, its energy fish? swimming delicately around the enclosed nothingness.

The room was full of warmth - reds, golds, browns, yellows and oranges dominated the scene, drawing each and every guardian in.

The room was empty.

If one were to turn, they would find that their most sudden entrance in to the room, had just as quickly disappeared. One room, no windows - hopefully none were overly clausterphobic.

Tick.
Tock.
Tick.
Tock.
Tick.
Tock.
Tick.
Tock.
Tick.
Tock.
Tick.
Tock.
Tick.

A clock was heard, dominating the soft hum of the aquarium.

So quickly, amidst the chaos of the world around them, the guardians of death had stumbeled across a moment of clarity, of sanity. A room, a clock, a pet.

All they could do now was wait.

((Feel free to post responses or reactions or whatnot - later tonight or tomorrow more will come. Promise. ;3 Anyone gonna relax and crawl on the bed? Pillow fight? *thinks Savius would just about slaughter someone who suggested it* x3 ))

The trogan just eyed the surroundings as if nothing had happened. Without a word he moved away from the group and picked a spot on the wall to lean against and allow him the pleasure of being a mere observer.

'I don't care what this place is, or what any of those people may have planned; the sooner I'm out of here, the better. But to hell if I'm going to do anything about it.' The trogan thought to himself as his eyes moved to the few of the group. 'So help me though, I'm not in the mood to get pissed off.'

Travel. Travel travel travel.

By this time, Iamels feet should've hurt. He knew they should have. Instead, he felt no exhaustian at all, except from the mild burning running through him from using his magic. Shanuhs energy was what he was looking for -

Shanuh was what they followed. What Savius followed and they, in return, went after.

The nothingness hit like a pillow. The woodpecker blinked a few times, twisting around as if to go back and... Well s**t. Iamel made a quiet noise of disbelief in the bowels of his throat, red eyes slanting back towards the room. The little trogan was situating himelf nicely and it didn't look as if anything deadly was about.

Diacyn needed molesting, Savius needed lightening and Xaxis needed someone to flop onto. Two thin hands shot out, grabbing both the energies of Savius and Diacyn, around where their shoulders would be, and he shoved them onto the bed. Xaxis was grabbed and tossed on as well, aimed in the vague direction of Savius. Hopefully, the element of surprise was on his side this time.

"Boooonzai!" Iamel yelped before flopping ontop of Diacyn, his energy landing on the others with a lazy thud. "This bed is huuuuuuuge. We can all fit! Diacyn, oi, Diacyn, can you breathe if I sit on your chest? Kids! Explore the room! Don't die. Yea?"

The walk, the ever, always walk, succeeded in wearing on the militant Savius, loosening him up further and bringing him mostly back to himself. Or, perhaps, only closer to other aspects of his shadow self. Yes, his shadow self had stood beside the lost of every war, great and small, and led them to the next beyond. But they had been soldiers all, in great ways or small, with the sort of bitter humor that serving built. So many had met him with grim smiles.

He didn't remember it, not really, not fully. But the part of him that woke here, the part that led his magic, did. And so, as they marched, and marched and marched and marched, he found himself whistling, an ironic, lilting little tune.

Until they found themselves there, as abruptly as they had not been there. A room, empty of life, and still their target was no where to be seen.

He breathed, let his shoulders relax, like a soldier on temporary leave. Oh, there was work to be done, things to investigate, but for the moment it felt good, just to not be walking.

And then, Iamel, and he was on a bed, with his arms all filled with Xaxis, and a Diacyn/Iamel tangle next to him. Well. This was unexpected. And it felt, well, nice. Very nice. Like home, in the way Savius understood the word, instead of in the way he lived it.

"Iamel..." And he probably had all sorts of objections to make. But he still nuzzled Xaxis's neck, even as his attention roved the room, searching.

One step in front of the other, forever moving, forever pacing. The world of light and colour, once so fascinatingly beautiful, had seemed to transform in to a dull grey. Part of Xaxis wondered how long they'd be moving, searching - there had to be an easier way than physically WALKING. Could they fly in this world. . ? It seemed anything and everything was possible.

Step by step, the raven kept his magenta gaze on the world, following the troupe and making sure ever last one of the god damn children stuck close. There would be no running away, there would be no wandering.

Savius began to whistle, and Xaxis tried to ignore his fatigue by focusing on that. He would not be the weakling in this group, HELL NO. It's why he adored his magic so much, his power - physically he didn't stand a chance against anything. But magically. . .? That was a different story entirely.

But why was he feeling so drained? None of the others who had used their abilities seemed out of sorts . . . except maybe the poor Heron. He knew he was wounded, understood where he hurt. . . . a beauitufl thing, how fast disease and infection could set in to the wound.

Lost in a tangle of thoughts, it was then that the world around them changed. First a corridor, now a room!? What.

Glancing around suspiciously, the raven scowled. There was no exit, no entrance - they were as if in some sort of plush hotel-lunch box. A cockroach hotel - once you're in, there's no way out. . . until the end. Still, the raven realized that the room looked just like any other room on the face of existance. . .

Perhaps with the exception of the glowing fish. But before he had a chance to further investigate the glowing things, he found Iamels arms and energy around him, and with a shove, had all but been throw on to the gargantuan bed.

With how weak and fatigued he really was, the raven could only gasp in surprise and didn't have a chance to pull out an objection. Energy against energy, he found himself thrown next to Savius, who just as easily snatched him up and nuzzled his neck.

. . . .

. . . . A glance at Iamel and Diacyn, and he couldn't help but inwardly smirk at his friends commands. Don't die. . ? Yeah, sure, the kids already seemed pretty good at getting them all in to trouble. With the heron and his battle wound, and Hylusis and her meandering. . . .

Maybe a new rule needed to be implemented - survival of the fittest. If they were dumb enough to get slaughtered then they weren't meant to pass on the genes.

Relaxing beside the general, Xaxis gave a sigh and quite litterally flopped. His energies seemed to relax, though the sickened grey, yellow and red seeped and dripped around him. He was ready for anything . . . but a little break was definitly in due order.

"I wouldn't get too comfortable," Xaixs chirped at both his friends and the children. God only knew what would happen next. Safety didn't seem the way of the world.

Entangling Savius' powerful war energy with the eternal threat of plague. . .

for just a moment. . .

everything was OK.

Diacyn hit the bed with a loud FWOOMPH, a few seconds before Iamel landed on top of him. He felt, momentarily, like a very odd sandwich.

"Ah! ********! Iamel!" he shouted, flopping around but not really trying to get up. "What the hell was that for? ******** that, where the hell did this bed come from?" His wings fluttered against the sheets. But despite his words, he wasn't thaaat upset. It was good to be someplace else. And it was good to be in a place that was not apparently trying to kill him.

And it was good to have Iamel next to him. Er. On top of him. At least the skinny Bird didn't weigh much.

"Yeah, I can breathe," he fake-grumbled, giving Iamel a playful shove in the chest. "But can you breathe if I do THIS?"

PHWOOF! Iamel got a pillow right in the face. It was the best thing Diacyn could think of at the moment. He couldn't quite work up the nerve to do a kiss again.
PostPosted: Wed Mar 21, 2007 12:36 pm

"Stop your bitchin'." Iamel laughed, grinning down at his friend. So what if Diacyn bitched? Diacyn always bitched and the more he bitched, the more he was enjoying s**t. It's when his friend fell silent for reasons other then kissing that you had to be worried about.

Then the pillow came. He yelped when it smashed into his face and his fingers shot up, grabbing at the cloth bundle. Iamel laughed, trying to wrench it from his friend or shove it down on his face, coughing a little.

"You a**! I almost smothered there. Taste the pillow! Eaaaaaat it! Or else!" Another laugh, his body wriggling ontop of the owl, legs moving so he could straddle him. It was the best way to keep steady after all.

"Never!" Diacyn continued his bitching, one foot getting tangled in the blankets. "You'll regret the day you tried to fight the Drip of Despair, you- GARGHPHFL!"

This last, odd vocalization was the result of Diacyn's mouth being filled with pillow. Curses! His attack had backfired! Snarling, he sunk his teeth into the thin fabric and ripped it open, sending an explosion of feathers into the air.

"Oh, I'll eat it all right!" he shouted through the cloud of feathers. Sure, he looked like an idiot, but he didn't really care.

Unfortunately, after all of this, Iamel STILL had the upper hand. And Diacyn was still flat on his back, with Iamel directly on top of him.

Uh. Now what did he do?
PostPosted: Wed Mar 21, 2007 2:24 pm

The others moved on, all but the one who'd released the illness and himself moving back into the natural flow of the current.

He'd felt water do that to him before, push and pull at his slender being as he waded calmly into it and trusted himself in the fact he wouldn't be swept away.

But that trust was faded here. It was as though he were moving without the will to do so, driven by the subconcious promises that there would eventually be an end to it all.

And that end...came suddenly.

As close as he'd been following Diacyn now, he hardly noticed the change int their surroundings until the giant ice bird was plucked from his side and he was sent stumbling forwards. The only thing keeping the bird from falling flat on his face was a skillfull twist of his tiny frame that, although looking silly, allowed him to recover in a graceful manner.

What the....

The emmanation was soft as he craned his neck to look about the room that had swallowed them up, its hunger insatiable and swift - so much so that there seemed very little of the outside to think of anymore, for it seemed as though they'd been in here for a time more than could really be possible.

However....his ponderings were cut short. His eyes widened with a familiar sort of excitement, and the edges of his energy seemed to curl into a grin as the waterfowl found what he loved best.

FISH! And Several of them!

He quickly moved over to the aquarium on Iamels' order to explore, and without so much as a second thought to whether or not the strangely colored creatures were at all dangerous, nor if they would worsen the condition of his hand, he swept into the water with reckless abbandon and made to grasp at the now franticly darting little creatures.

Iamel watched the owl try to EAT the pillow with no lack of amusement, eyes mild on his friend. "Are you done now?" His lips pulled into a slow smile, head dipping closer to the frothing owl.

One hand rested rather gently on Diacyns mouth and Iamel went lax on top of him, face pressed against the crook of the owls shoulder. he might have been taller, but it wasn't a matter of concern. His feet dangled over the edge of the bed.

"Chill o ut and take a break, Diacyn. We fought. Rest time. And don't Iamel me, Savius. Shush."
PostPosted: Thu Mar 22, 2007 10:40 am

Not to comfortable, right. Smirking at Diacyn and Iamel's anticts, he sat up a bit, pulling Xaxis up with him, so that the Raven was snuggled cozily in his lap. It was weird, holding energy Xaxis instead of actual Xaxis. It felt like they were closer, somehow, their individual energies mingling at the edges, so blood melted with plauge. Mmm...

Right. Not too comfortable. He shook his head slightly, scanning the room, looking for anything that might tell him... well... anything.

The Heron was playing with the fish, and he couldn't help but be amused by the birds actions. "Hungry?" He called out, from his place on the bed, "Or are you going to interogate them about our situation?"

He continued to look around, noting the Trojan, who he'd never really exchanged words with. He hadn't spoken up earlier, when he'd asked for the talented kids to step forward though. What was his Death, anyway? Savius felt no immediate kinship with him, which meant it probably wasn't a violent sort of death. "What are you, kid?"

((Edit: OKAY! Lithle I am so sorry I didn't see your trying to converse with Trelanz. XDD I shall remedy this.))

Trelanz slowly looked over towards the bed of limbs when one of the "adults" took notice of him.

The question made him second guess at what he meant.

'What am I? What kind of answer is he looking for?' The Trogan asked himself as he searched for an answer. "Well, if you're speaking presently, a glowing being of energy. If you're speaking from before all this s**t happened, than the same as you. Was there something of more importance that I should be answering this question with?"

Trelanz stared at the man while he drew circles into his arm with a nail.
