Mikhael frowned, watching Levi's movements more than paying attention to what he was saying. As the cup spilled over, he caught it before it hit the floor, but was too late to prevent the spray of mess. "Levi...finish the bacon an' getchu cleaned up for bed." He didn't have to be Alexi to know that something wasn't right. Usually the pirate had nimble fingers, but he'd missed that glass by a mile.
He took the glass over to the sink, rinsing it out and grabbing some paper towels to dab up the mess over the table and the floor. "Getchu a hot bath." He rung out the paper towel into the sink before tossing it in the trash. "Clean clothes." "Bed."

"But, I dinnit..." Protesting weakly, Levi waved his hand at the mess, or at Mik cleaning up the mess, before sighing. Maybe he should go to bed, it had been a long...however long it had been.
Crunching into a new piece of toast, he smiled (and chewed) at Mik. "Yer a good mate, y'know? Gettin' fussy in yer old age, tho'..." He leaned back in his chair in a faux duck, half anticipating the sopping towel might head in his direction. He couldn't help but tease, truth be told. Mik did more for him than his own mother did!
"Y' stayin' over, ah hope?"

"I live here." Mik aligned himself to the side of Levi, so he could tuck himself under the pirate's arm and haul him up. "C'mon. Bath." He ignored the comment about his behavior, and patted a soothing hand on the pirate's back. "Getchu better." He steadied himself so that he wouldn't fall over when the pirate braced weight on him. Levi was a good chunk heavier, after all.

Snagging a few more bites as he was led away from the table, Levi nodded amiably at the news. "Splains it." His stomach rumbled, having just settled to the idea of food, and Levi grinned as he slogged along behind Mik. "Hanks fer d'eats."
It wasn't until he was peeling out of his shirt that he got curious. Tossing the wadded linen aside, he scuffled one hand through his dreads as he peered at the serious muse. "Whadda 'bout Raife? Innit she lonely?"
He'd always been fond of his oldest teacher, and some of his dearest lessons had come from Mik's shady guardian. A smile cracked across the young pirate's face at the memories as he kicked absently out of his pants.

"Mmmh, well, I can't be home, an' someone's gotta make it look normal." He nudged Levi over to lean against the wall so he had hands free to draw the bath, pouring in a little more Mr. Bubble than was probably necessary. The room filled with the pleasant smell of childhood water play.
"Death threats an' --" As he turned around, he very nearly blushed at Levi undressing behind him. "I'll mmh. Turn 'round." He shook his head as if to clear it and turned to stare at the wall instead of his best friend, rubbing at his cheeks. Levi'd laugh him out of the house if he saw!
And why was he blushing anyway?

"Huh." Death threats? Mik had a habit of taking things pretty seriously, but Levi shook his head. He remembered the mean letters, he'd offered to help Raife rip them up...but who would actually want to hurt Mik?!
Planting one hand on his friend's head, Levi used him for leverage to step over into the tub. Modesty had never been his thing, especially not in front of his oldest mate! Settling into the water with a happy noise, the young pirate let his arms flop over the sides of the tub. The bath had been a good idea...without Mik, he might not have gotten to it for days!
"Well, if yer settled here, ah could go look in on Raife? We c-" Trailing off, eyes growing starry and distant, Levi stared out the window toward the panorama of tumbling sea. "Yuu! Course! Oy, let's have Aki keep Raife company! Y'come wit me, outtaways! Whaddya say?!"
He turned his grin, full tilt, onto Mik...blue eyes bright with the possibilities. The two of them, out at sea...no 'adults' to tell them when to rise, or when to eat! Just the wind, the water, and...
"Mik? Y' hokay?" His mate was looking a little flushed, perhaps there was too much steam? Concern knit his dark brows, and he leaned along the closer side of the tub.

"Out there? Jus' us?" Mik didn't turn until Levi was waist deep in the bubbles he'd arranged in the tub. Somehow it seemed safer. He didn't know what'd gotten into him, and just shook his head at Levi's question. "m'fine." He was, he thought? It had just been a weird, brief moment. But it was passing.
He turned and smiled a little at Levi. The thought of a sea voyage was alluring. And it would keep him away...would they ever think to look for him at sea?
On the other hand, though, they'd be sitting ducks, if ever they were found. And how would he and the pirate hold up in a fight? True, the sea was Levi's domain, but he'd always been a lover, not a fighter.
But maybe he was worrying too much. He smiled, cause the pirate looked too concerned.
"I'd like that."

Like that? Oh, he'd like that. Wait, that was pretty much a...
"YES!" Suddenly refreshed, Levi jolted and sloshed up to stand in the tub...bubbles sticking like patches of seafoam. "S'go, then!" No time to waste! They were going to be out on the open sea, just the two of them, plus some most likely imaginary crew. The water rolling beneath them, the sky split above, it would be just like...
Just like shouting nekkid in the tub? Slabs of bubbles dotted the immodest pirate, settled from head to knees like drifts of frothy snow. Too excited to worry about things like nudity, Levi threw one arm outward in a gesture to the window.
"Gotta go now, afore winter, lad! Ready?!" Wobbling just a bit, dreads plastered to his cheeks, Levi offered Mik a radiant, crooked grin. Just like the old days!!

Mik covered his face with his hands, blushing hideously from head to toe, as the pirate burst from the foam. "Levi....back in the tub." He couldn't help though, the helpless laugh that burbled up in his throat. Despite his embarrassment at his own reaction to the pirate's nakedness, Levi was still....well, clothed only in his own frothy glory.
"you need rest. No nekki adventures." Surely, winter would still be a ways off in a day or two. How long did Levi want to stay at sea? "Sea can wait." He turned away again, those strange feelings creeping back after the giggles were gone. "Wait after shampoo, bath, nap." He laughed a bit at both of them, staring at the charming print on the bathroom wall. "Still be there. Promise."

At the mention of naked adventures, Levi lit up anew...dramatically planting his arms akimbo. "S'best kind!" He was hamming it up, he knew, but it couldn't be helped. It was so good to hear Mik laugh, the pirate would have done most anything to hear it again.
Sinking back into the tub with a laugh of his own, Levi pushed some of the subs absently out of the tub with his foot. "Hokay, hokay. Shampoo..." He made a face. "Bath, nap. Goddit. DEN we be leavin', aye!?"
He wasn't letting that shampoo anywhere near him till Mik agreed. It smelled like strawberries, and pirates most certainly did not smell like strawberries.

Mik opened his mouth, about to object that Levi didn't even have a boat to travel on. Then a light dawned in his head and he shut his mouth again. "Kay. But we gotta make a stop first." He supposed the both of them could use the cheering up that an early birthday gift would bring.
Reaching for the shampoo, he squirted a generous amount into his hand, but daunted by Levi's dreads and braids, he stared, scratching his head with his free hand. "How do you..." His hair was relatively short in comparison, and he'd never had such a problem. After a moment of staring, he shrugged, and started in the best he could.

"Ah don't..." Levi mumbled, but didn't object to Mik's help. Building an island of bubbles up on his chest, he poked a few caves into the side of it, and watched as it melted back down into the 'sea'.
The fact that Mik agreed, however, was enough to make him forget about the troublesome shampoo. Slapping the last of the bubbles flat, he yanked abruptly away from Mik's hands...dunking his whole head under water. After a few moments, he came back up shaking his head like a dog getting dry.
"Bwa!~ Hoo! Hokay, done wif bath! A nap, yer stop, and off we go!" Leaning over the edge, he reached for the towel...fingers wiggling until something occurred to him.
"Ey...where we stoppin', Mik?"

Mik smiled ominously, handing Levi the towel. "You'll see." He was a bit amused at how different the pirate looked with his hair scrubbed clean and silky and less the tangled mess it'd been. He'd have to help the pirate put those tiny braids back in later. He wondered a bit how Levi'd even gotten them there to begin with. He didn't seem the type to sit there, patiently looping sections of hair.
In any case, he was betting that the nap would last longer than the pirate planned on. He'd never seen Levi so exhausted before in his life as he'd been when he sat down at the table. It'd be a good time to check on Aki, and let her know that her son was home from...well, wherever he'd been. Although she'd 'cut him loose', the museling was sure that she still worried from time to time.

Levi was toweled off in no time...the bath was obviously not his favorite place to be. Scrubbing behind one ear, then the other, the pirate left two slightly drier patches of hair and called it good.
"Fine, keep yer seekrets! Be seein', indeed..." Favoring his friend with a half glare, half grin, Levi tightened the towel around his waist and thumbed the end in to stay. He was feeling much better after the bath, though he wouldn't admit it...but the sweet smell of the shampoo set him on edge. Reminded him of Isha.
"Nap then. C'mon!" The sun was shining beautifully, and the old hammock was still stretched behind the house. It wasn't as large as it used to be, but still more than generous enough for two.
Padding down the hall with bare feet, leaving dark prints and a line of dripspots behind, Levi shouldered open the door to the veranda and kept it open for Mik. "Dun worry about the kitchen, or any other such thing. Time to relax, eh!?"

Mikhael scurried down the hall after Levi after tidying up a little in the bathroom. Where was he going? "L-levi, clothes!" He flailed anxiously. This was problematic. Not only did the pirate want a nap with him, but he was extremely and distressingly underdressed. And on top of all that, he wanted to nap outside! "Pants..." He interjected weakly, although the pirate seemed beyond listening.
If he'd thought that bathtime Levi was dangerously uncomfortable, this was making him blush from the tips of his ears to his toes. He'd have to make some excuses....but what? He'd have to think fast, the two of them were already on the veranda, and, despite his worries, that hammock looked like home.
