Genno turned and saw the last person he was expecting. Benkai stood behind them. "You thought you could earn my trust and then betray me?" he raged. "I'll kill you all!"
As the half-dragon attacked, Genno made a leap for his staff and mamaged to duck before his own dagger was used against him. He turned around, staff in hand, and began to fight the beast.

Sam ran into the wagon and grabbed the knife that she used to cut her cast off.
"I may not be as good as Kakashi with targets, but here goes. GENNO! MOVE!!!!!!!"
She held the knife in the air and she lunged for the DragonMan.

Genno heard the yell and charged a tree, stepping on the trunk and using momentum to carry him to a low branch, where he waited to see who yelled.

Sam kept on lunging and right before she hit the dragon man, she closed her eyes. She hit him right in the heart. She left the knife in him and she backed up as he slowly fell to the ground.

Genno saw Benkai leap out of the way a second too late. He couldn't see anything, but created fog with a spell to give Sam cover to escape.

Sam ran over to where Genno and Kakashi were standing. "I can't belive that I just killed someone." She stood there for a few seconds then she spoke.
"I can't do this!" She sobbed. She ran over to dragon man.
She felt his hand. He was dead-cold. "He's dead." She turned around and looked at Genno and Kakashi.

Genno looked quizzically at Sam but decided the best course of action was to bury the body. He then thought that they should burn it to save time and began walking towards the corpse.

"I say we cremate it... The circus guy is probably on our trail already."
Genno built up the fire with a fallen branch and waited for it to be hot enough to be used as a pyre.

"Ok..." Sam went along with the whole cremation thing.
'I'm just glad that he didn't hurt any of us. Wait, are you ok Genno?"

Kakashi stated that they should have a brief ceremony for their so-called old friend. He waited for Genno and Sam's response.

"No..." he slowly replied.
Taking out a small dagger, he began to strip the scales from Benkai's leg and collected them in a pouch. He then decided that the ceremony would be a good idea and placed the body into the fire.

Kakashi kneeled down and began to pray and chant a few words in a language that neither Sam nor Genno knew. He then proceded to ask "What were the scales for?"

"No kidding...what are they for?"
Sam looked around into the darkness and she heard something small, but she still heard it. She quickly took out her flashlight and she pointed it into the distance.
She got up and she walked over to the figure.
"Grandpa, is that you?"

"The scales of dragons are said to contain magic..." Genno said.
He looked over at where Sam was going, wondering who or what she was talking to.
