Curious, curious - her smile continued to remain on her lips as she lazily swooped the glass into her hand once more and calmly examined the scarlet liquid thoughtfully. Unlike the majority of the rogues and mercenaries she had hired before he had refrained from answering questions up until this point. She was unaware of whether or not he would choose to question her later but so far he was satisfactory and seemingly capable.
"In eleven days a party is being held within the Forested Temple just south of here." She began at last and took a small breath, lowering her glass once more without taking a sip, "There will be someone there who is known by many names, she has an item of particular interest to me and I desire to retrieve it...part of your mission will be to keep an eye on her." She continued and lifted the cane to push her hair back with the handle.
"During this party there may also be a number of disturbances as my companions and I attempt to retrieve another artefact of interest for a more powerful benefactor, the second part of your job will be to ensure that absolutely no one notices us." She pursed her lips and then grimaced briefly, her expression clouded with an unreadable expression.
"Should you fail in this and we are pursued upon acquiring the artefact then I will pay you extra to mislead those who follow us. Ensure they do not reach us and should you find any of our tracks then remove them immediately." She raised a brow and rested her cheek upon her cane as she returned her gaze towards him.
"Can you do that?"

The man nodded curtly to the woman. His eyes seemed to shine a little bit more, though that was the only sign of emotion that he let pour through his exterior, "Information about the first target?" he asked. After all, one couldn't track a person on just 'they have many names'.
Finally a smile came to his face, an evil half grin as he waited to conclude this last bit of business.

For a brief instance the nameless woman smirked, her eyes glint with what appeared to be hatred and she considered her words carefully before answering his question, something she did frequently in order to ensure that nothing could be used against her at a later date should he be caught and tried.
"Her two most common names are Dune Ali'Ance and Cordelia Winslow." She replied in a cold voice, indicating her obvious distaste for the woman, "She is leader of a thieves guild in Durem and took it upon herself to steal my cane, a cane which my grandfather gave to me - should you find her and she attempts to escape you have leave to kill her." She shrugged simply and then contemplated how best to describe her, flashing a glance towards the windows before shifting in her place.
"Her favourite colour is green and always wears a mask." She added abruptly, it was the best way to describe the woman and in truth...she was hard to miss.

The man nodded again, as he absorbed what little details he had, repeating them in his mind just to make sure they were burned in. He was quiet for quite a few minutes, his eyes seeing nothing as he went over the specs for the mission once more, organizing it, and coming up with a base plan already as he mapped outcomes and events.
"Sounds good," he stated with a certain finality, as he bowed his head again to the woman across from him, "Been a pleasure doing business."

"Just do not mess up." The woman muttered as she rose to her feet and clasped her cane more firmly in her hand, "The Baroness does not tolerate failure." She added quietly, gave a nod and made her way towards the exit of the tavern - evidently she had a tab at the place for the bartender didn't even question her lack of payment and merely approached the table to gather up the glass and bottle once more.
Needless to say, the day in which he would be expected to act was drawing near though and no doubt all those workign on the aforementioned operation would be curious to see whether or not this woman's judgements had been right.

The man stuck around for a few more hours. He had been nursing a drink the entire time, sitting around, watching men and women come and go, some less willing than others, and even a few scuffles break out, as was the SOP for a tavern in this town, though they were quickly silenced.
It was long past night fall, before the man seemed to finish with a simple, cheap ale he had ordered, leaving just a small tip, and the gold for the drink on the table, under the glass. He pushed himself up slowly, taking a deep breath. He wobbled, and almost fell over a few times, as he plowed his way through the thicker evening crowd. His feet kept churning and moving until he was outside, breathing the cool, crisp night air of Barton, tinged with the salt breezes of the sea not to far away.
He continued to bob and weave, barely able to hold onto his feet as he stalked through the dark city streets, staying away from the main avenues as he made his way towards the southern gates of the city. He did have a job to do, after all...

THe idea to just buy, or steal a brom, in a big city, that probably had thousands of them just laying around, just didnt' occur to the half ogre. No, she had said "It was probably at the temple", and that's where he was heading to, running down streets, people getting out of the way for him. After all, he was a big, heavy, ugly thing, no one really wanted to stop him, or stand in his path.
He was dripping wet, after his swim from the island, as was Lilith, who was not happy with it, shaking her fur to get the water out.
Glop though, seemed very happy, doing hte 'dog out the window' from the ogre's shoulder.
Junkan was getting into hsi second wind now, and thankfully, quite glad he ate as much as he did back at the tavern, he was definately burning off the energy with this mad dash.

A small bird, probably the size of a fist, screeched shrilly as it dove down to land on Junkan's hand ((edit --- err... I guess now it's his head. rofl )). Curiously enough, it perched there, blinking up at its perch innocently.
Almost unnoticable, a tiny scroll of parchment was wrapped around it's leg.

Junkan paused, reaching up slowly, as he felt a weight on his head, a weight that wasn't Lilith, who was on his shoulder, or Glop, on the opposite shoulder. No, it was something strange.
Thus, he reached up there, patting about slowly, and grabbing at whatever was on his head.
Lilith watched, curiously, as Junkan reached for the bird, almost seeming to laugh, as he waited for the bird's fate.
Glop, seemed to care less, other thant he fact the bird was on the head, the superior position. And he was clearly the superior one. Soon, he was hatching plans to turn it into a frog, kick it off, and reclaim the high ground.

The messenger gave a quick peck to the inquisitive finge, chirping a little before fluttering to land on his hand. It kept it's distance from the two familiars, though, and stuck out its leg imperiously.
[ Ooohh god, my RPing sucks. @@'' You're just gonna have to put up with it, though. ]

((NO problem Lady Khel.))
Junkan frowned, not understanding as he stared at the bird in his hand. Better than two int he bush, he figured, but it looked like a poor meal.
It was then Lilith chimed in, and understanding dawned on his face. His fingers reached out for the small paper wrapped around the bird's foot, trying to carefully peel it off. Not that he knew why he was doing it, he couldn't read after all.

[ Lol, you're probably used to my horrible writing. x___x''' ] The bird hopped around, expectantly waiting for... well, some sort of treat. There was writing on the note, like chicken scratches on a page, filling a pattern that looked something like this: Hey,
Remember the other day, how I asked if anyone would bring back my broom? Well, it was broken, and ... I heard you were going to durem. Would you mind purchasing a new one for me? I'll pay you back as soon as you get to the Turtle's Paradise again. <3~!
-khel
P.S.: By the way, I've got a surprise for you, something of a "I'm sorry" gift. Drop by next time I'm 'round, and I'll treat you to a drink! biggrin

Of course, sadly, it was Glop that was the literate one out of all of them. He hopped up on top of Junkan's head, claiming the high ground superiority. He read the note slowly, and croaked triumphantly.
"Go get a broom, bring back to the tavern!" Glop commanded, and Junkan nodded almost lodging him from the high ground with the gesture. He reached up, patting him softly.
With no treat to give the bird, he instead just stroked it's feathers gently, as a way of thanks.

It gave a surprised 'cheep' before fluffing itself self-consciously in Junkan's hands. With surprising reluctance, the bird twisted its way free, cocking it's head towards Junkan in some avian form of thanks. Without so much as a backwards glance, the messenger continued on its normal routine.....

Junkan waved off after the bird, just incase it looked back. But as it was, when it disappeared from sight, he forgot what he was supposed to get.
"BROOMS!" Glop called out loudly, seeing hsi indescision.
Yes... brooms. Where do you find brooms?
Lilith whispered in his ear, then, whapped Glop off the head and back down to the shoulder level, forcing the Cavetoad to glare evilly about.
Yes, brooms. The half ogre smiled, in Durem, a hardware store. made sense.
With that, he stomped over to the west, laughing as the crowds parted out of his way, and a few scrambled in fear before a heavy boot crushed them. It was true, the best things in life ARE free.
