As the fluid comes in contact with IV's skin it incorporates into the strange substance coating his skin. The chain would find the molecular acid changing in strength and composition as another burst of fluid moved to dissolve it with greater intensity than the last. His skin seemed to ripple out from the point of contact by the fluid from the staff. Even as his two sets of wings continue their growth the whole of his body seems to vibrate, the vibrational effect created by his dragonfly type wings passing through his bone structure almost as a counterpoint to that of the chain.

The staff, now that would certainly seem to be a problem, if not for the fact that when the staff came towards him he didn't try to push it away. In fact, he pulled on it so as to bring it wowards him faster, and when it went right past him -his body shifting out of the way- he didn't seem ready to stop, trying to use that force to take it farther than the unnamed intended. Of course, a nice stab from his bone blade to whatever fleshy bits got close was always fun too.

=Ignoring the chemical and physical impossibilities of the "molecular acid" changing in composition, IV has performed beautifully as if an actor in some twisted movie. Everything is on cue. The unnamed had no intention of actually piercing; though, he had used enough force that even the dull end of the shaft could have done so. The moment forward momentum is added, the unnamed releases the grip of his right hand only to brandish what doesn't appear to be more than a simple card. In a quick motion, he changes the momentum of the staff into an angular velocity. This causes it to move towards a diagonal impact with IV. That seems to be the intent, but it would also work to intercept the incoming bone-blade. Why reach for the seeming card?=

=The intention of letting go of the shaft with only the right hand and maintaining it with the left will become obvious very soon, but there's a very important matter in why the chains seemed to just suddenly begin vibrating. A "counter pulse" from IV's wings is just another factor in what's going on. Because he cannot reduce his body temperature to zero degrees kelvin, the point where all vibrations cease known as absolute zero, without killing himself, it's really impossible to truly counter the chains. The question remains. Why vibrate? It's simply chemistry and physics. An acid molecule not dissolved in some liquid, preferably water, is useless, and proteins (as well as sugars and lipids, not to mention DNA) denature in temperatures outside their preferential range. The chains use energy and counter-energy to create a lot of friction and heat very quickly.=

=That's not the end of it. IV now makes a "complete, uninterrupted circuit" with himself, the unnamed, and the staff. Didn't he think about the pulsating globe? The fact that the unnamed always kept two hands on the shaft? Now the potential path is from the staff to the unnamed to the chains to IV and back to the staff. In a sense, this is a new path of least resistance created by a short circuit when the ground is removed. Why had the fluid come out of the staff in the first place? Perhaps one, final, and futile attempt at generosity or to show an interconnectivity. Whatever the case might have been or currently be, electrolysis is the final result. A "molecular acid" has nothing on this effect. The effect would be a lot like a squirrel touching an electrical line incorrectly. A complete and sudden dehydration and flash-frying. Only this is on a different (higher) scale.=

=Why doesn't this current do anything to the unnamed? The short answer is that it does. The thing is that it's being put to use, and all IV could
possibly be is just another conduit made a conductor simply because of how much current is being pushed.=

=All the while, something is happening in the sky just above the null field...which has shrunk ever so slightly...=

There was one simple problem in the addition of electrical current to IV's body, such that the idea of electricution to a point of not only frying him but ******** his acid over quite well would be irrelevant. The nature of his skin is not simply flesh for the sake of being flesh, and aside from its adaptability it should be clear that when the fluid came in contact with his skin there was some sort of layer over it. In short, the electrical current would pass over IV, going around him in small paths that left lines on the surface of his skin, and do absolutely nothing to his body. Continued application would induce evolution such that he would be able to harness the electricity as he pleased, something that would definately not be fun for the unnamed.

As his wings continue to grow in size the beast seems to not notice the extra weight and strain they must be applying to his form. When the staff moved to strike him, and it would, the unnamed would find it locking to IV's body rather securely. In addition to the other qualities of his skin it seemed to be rather capable of acting as an adhesive, or did now. Removing the staff from his skin would not be the easiest of tasks, and seeing as how IV tried to thrust his body at the unnamed like a nymphomaniac college girl in heat it could be assumed the rest of him was getting rather sticky too.

=If the conduit were staff to IV to unnamed to staff, the nature of IV's skin might have made a difference. The conductive path, however, is staff to unnamed to the chains to internal IV to external IV to staff. IV can't evolve if his DNA is denatured and fragmented. His body can't do anything without hydration. Then there's the problems proteins and lipids have with heat and electricity. Basically, muscles break down, and cells explode. In the end, the resistance of his skin would break down (electron tunneling and induced magnetism helping there), and the unnamed easily pry himself from the adhesive skin as it breaks down. Maybe IV should have taken the invitation to remove the chains and release the staff.=

=Meanwhile. There is that interesting event in the sky.=

((Well then, if we are deciding to be inflexible in our opinions, I'll just go back and state there couldn't be any circuit due to there being no completion. Going from staff through skin to chain fails, as it acts as an insulator and thus disables the circuit. Furthermore, if you really want to nit-pick, the skin is no doubt touching the chain because the chain goes through the skin, and would thusly continue along the chain. Going into his body would not be the path of least resistance when the circuit goes through the chain and back to you/your staff.))

((I'm at least being flexible in the fact that I allowed the circuit to complete and it did affect him to some small degree. But I guess you don't like playing nice.))

((Oh? I wonder who's more flexible. The one ignoring observable chemical and physical traits/theories/laws to further a fantasy? ...or... The one not ignoring, or allowing, unproven/able theories based on shaky foundations of sand?))

((So the fact that his skin is an insulator is pure fantasy and could never happen ever anywhere by any means? Oh yes, a fluid layer on the skin designed to alter its chemical composition based on biological stimulous obviously can't be logical. His skin doesn't conduct electricity, but the fluid does. You failed trying to fry him to pieces. Either -Editted out- repost or go grab Moo, cause I'm done arguing with you -Editted out-

((Actually, an arguement I hadn't even brought up yet was the impossibility of an ideal insulator (infinite resistance) and how the insulation would have been broken down, so I wasn't refering to that quite yet. If you want to get into that, that's fine too. I was just refering to your statement of flexibility and adding in that you were using something for much of this fight that can easily be argued impossible in a null field to begin with, and I hadn't said a thing about it.))

((FYI: There is no such thing as an ideal insulator, or something with infinite resistance. There's a very good reason the chains were vibrating to create friction and heat. When heat is applied to an insulator, it becomes a conductor. Do think about why I take the time to write things out.))

((If you want me to grab Moo (I'm guessing that's the person who appears as the owner of this guild), I will. Just remember I gave you the chance to get IV away from my character several times.))

I'm locking this thread and reading through the entire fight with another mod. We'll put a judgment up later. For now, though--match suspended.
