::To what might be the great surprise of the wolven creature, there was an answer, even though it took about 3 minutes to come forth. But before there even was an answer, he might notice a few things, his senses being as extra-ordinary as they were.

First off he would very likely notice the smell. The smell of rotting flesh, and bodies, now this smell was masked severally by the scent of cleaning products and sanitizers but for a creature related to the canine family, the creatures with the greatest sense of smell known to Gaia...it would likely smell like he was standing on a pile of rotting corpses that had been rotting for weeks. Decrepit flesh that had long since passed the stage in which it was edible and moved on to being little more than a nasal blight. If he was able to keep his lunch in his stomach, especially with how long it would seem to him, that he was standing there, it would be most impressive. Especially considering how slow time would pass to the visiting wolf.

Second, would be far less obvious except to beings of magic, beings infused with magic or beings who had any sort of magic attached to or surrounding them. The feeling would be unpleasant, it would be a feeling of death. Not to the creature, but to the magic. One would quickly notice that within a 486ft radius of the large black tower, magic simply seemed to cease to be. A mage would be unable to cast a spell, it would dissipate just as quickly as the arcana was gathered. A creature who's very existance was bound to magic such as a zombie, or a vampire, would feel a very definite sense of tiredness as it began to drain. But why? One could rest assure there was a very large reason why, but they could be equally sure that the cold snowy night was not giving any reasons what so ever.

Of course either of these realizations would fall second to the most obvious oddity in this place, and that was the sky. And the fact that within a 2 mile radius the sky was dark as night and engulfed in stormy clouds, permanently, even in the brightest day no sunlight dare tread on this cursed land. And again, there was a definite reason, but the sky was not talking.

Despite all of the above, there was indeed an answer at the door. The door itself was giant, its hulk dark steel frame and form made it look like a dull sheet of black, but in this endless sheet a small slit opened, sort of like a window, and a voice was heard from a small voice. A voice which almost seemed like the cute voice of a small child. The person speaking it wasnt very clear in view only her hand. And with its delicate form, it was definately the hand of a female. Though it would be nearly a miracle if the wolf could smell her pheramone over the smell of death, which covered her from head to toe like a blanket. But she spoke kindly, and in this cold wasteland that must have been a first for him in quite a while.::

Here ya go puppy!

::And her hand, which was gently placed in the window flicked forth a slab of meat. It looked alot like steak, fresh bloody steak, but there was no sign of any cows or the scent of any cows. And then she made a slight wave and slipped the tiny window closed.

She meant no harm, or disrespect, but the creature at the front stoop of this hospital hardly seemed to need medical attention. What else could she do to help?::
PostPosted: Wed Aug 24, 2005 7:20 pm

"Mmm.."

He grunted to himself, eyeing the meat as it fell to the ground. As he leaned to it, he could smell of the meat was nothing he had smel't before. Not of any animal that he had encountered in his harsh journey which he was forced to endure. Without trust, he kicked the slab into the snowy ground beside him. Were they trieng to feed him poison.. Were they trieng to ward him away, as if he were some cursed beast of the dark, come to terrorize them. He remembered a story being told to him when he was in a town, so long ago. He only scratched at the memory, it being so close to dissipating from his mind..

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"There was a story I was told when I was a young boy," the old man that he had encountered in his travels spoke.."Of a wolf who three pigs along his journies. Three pigs who had built themselves three different homes. Each home was built with a different material, and each of them blown down by a hungry wolf. Until the last, a house made of bricks, which stopped the wolf from killing the final pig, and it was able to free its' brothers. So you see, young wolf, many people will not answer their doors to you." Catches a fleeting glimps of remembrance. How the old man set down his jug of coffee."You would be wiser to trust the animals, than the wondering minds of men. Keep your wits about you when you are 'round them.."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

He has followed by the old mans' advice, and slaughtered many a derranged man by it. Men who have tried to slaughter him as if he were a helpless dog. Men who set traps to decieve him, after promising information or shelter. He places his hand on his fur, brushing it up and down. He then noticed the smell. The overwhelming smell of rotting flesh. The change between Wolf and Were had rendered, and has always rendered his senses distorted for a miniscule amount of time, but now, it was apparent, and now, he feared for the fledglings life.

He took his bulky first into the air, the foul smell nearly overcomming him now, and with a swift bash, he slammed his fist against the door once more, only this time in a violent manner, one that shook the metal hinges to such an extent, he thought it would fall from it's place.

"You open this door right now..." he announced. Anybody within the structure could hear this, the dual notions of each of his tones, the low, bellowing voice of his inner animal, with the higher pitched, and unmistakebly human voice of his Sapian form. "If you do not open the door, I swear I will tear the metal from the structure, piece by piece, until it is opened, and I will ram this tower until it plummets. Take this as no threat to you, but to your home. I would hate to see such a strong structure perish when it hasn't even endured one winter." He took a finger to the wall nearest the door, and ran a claw down it, leaving a smooth indentation."I have followed the tracks of a fellow adventurer here who seeks a doctor. I wished to see this "doctor" as well, until I arrived. I smell the foul stench of rotting corpses, much beyond their point of expiring, and something is wrong about here, so I have two purposes. The first is to make sure the one that led me here, the one I had met, is okay. Let.. me.... in.."

And with that he turned back to the door, and let off another hatred filled blow, leaving another rather large dent within the metal exterior, just to put his point across, not an unstable breath leaving his body, not a muscel or bone phased.

And he waited...

Tch...tch...tch....you should have just taken your steak and left...

::The voice from behind the door with a bit of a giggle.::

...bad boy...

::The wolfs body was unphased? I should certainly hope that any being that bunches a slab of alluminum should walk away unphased and without any broken bones. And infact all this barbarian wolf had done, was impact a sheet of aluminum plating which sat across the lower level of the door, serving the same basic function as two far more common devices...A doorbell, and an alarm. You see, if there is a kind knock at the door, a series of bells are alerted in the tower alerting the residents to the fact that there is someone at the door. If the door is impacted heavily, such as in the case of this most rude dent, an alarm was set off. But this alarm never made a sound, in or out of the of the house, because there truly was no reason for the denizens of the house to fear.

This wolf posed no more threat to the monsterous tower which stretched so many thousands of feet into the air, than a harmless little puppy stands against a city sky skraper. Due to the sheer thickness of the Darksteel Layers, and the number of them, even a speeding semi truck wouldnt make much of an impact on outer wall. The wolf had made a most basic mistake the type of mistake that would seem childish for a "King", he had attacked a stronghold without an army. But lets look a little bit closer and see scientifically why this attack was such a bad idea. After all, without magic in this realm, science ruled all.

The legal wieght of a semi truck is about 53.500 kg, or 117,947, thats roughly 58 tons. Now, add onto that speed of about 70 mph and your dealing with a very large amount of force well over 60, or ever 80 tons. This force would not be enough to do more than dent the tower, much less fell it. Now, add in the wolfs fists, its size and strength. Now there was no telling the wofs exact strength, but one could definately say that that strength was no, in the slightest magically enhanced, as there was no magic allowed in this area. And so the wolf strength MUST be genetic, phsyical. If he was to make good on his claim, his muscles alone must have the strength to exhibit, constantly, 80-100tons of force. In order for his muscles to be THAT strong, they would also have to be large, very large. Infact it was unlikely the we would be measuring his biceps in inches, but rather in feet. He would be huge, even collosal. At that size, it would be unlikely that he would fit inside the door. But was the wolf this size?

Unlikely. He fit inside a cave, he looked mortal, he was able to hold a tiny rabbit girl in his fangs, but if his face was so large, his fang would have been larger than her entire tiny body. Meaning it was far from likely this wolf would be anything more than a pest should he choose to persue this attack.

Whew...that was quiet the boring science lesson. Now on with the action!

The Wolf would quickly notice the effect of his violent outburst. Quickly, even for his "super fast" senses. He would noticed that in a 10ft radius around himself, snow...stopped falling. Now isnt that wierd? Snow was simply hanging in mid air around him, as if suspended by tiny strings, the snow failed to move. But outside of that 10ft radius the blizzard continued to rage...now what was all this about? We'll get back to that.

There was a second effect, balls about 2ft around, rose up from the ground, there were no stands to hold them, they simply rose up out of the snow by the thousands, a total of 2,086 to be exact. The wolf would likely notice that they rose at different hieghts and angles. They looked like black and somewhat shiny themselves. But their centers were simply hollowed out, like a donut...very strange. Stranger still was the way that all of them were angled toward the Wolf. The spheres themselves behind to osicalte, the two hemispheres which formed them began to spin in opposing directions, sort of like a drill. This caused some sort of strange visual disturbance in the center donut hole, like air wiggling rapidly. And then they began to glow, it was a sort of bright violet glow. These were infact the Doctors reverse engineered version of M4X's Z.I.G. Cannon.

Now for a small reminder, the Android Graviton Unit Model: M4X, was once a part of the security system of the Leviathan Stadium. He himself is an mechanical weapon from 5,346 years in the future. And the rest if a very long story, from several years ago in the Stadium itself. The android is powered by and in turn powers, a tiny Quantum Singularity, aka a Blackhole in his chest cavity, which in turn allows him certain measure of control over gravity itself.

The Z.I.G. Cannon, was orignally a small device which hung in a zero G field, and was used an intense gravitional field to turn normal air, into a solid projecticle. It was capable of firing 486 shots a minute at maximum, and 23 shots a minute at minimum. The shots were capable of piercing kevlar armor, and moved at a speed of 1600ft per second. This was infact the same speed as a normal, ordinary, 357 Magnum Revolver shot. For review there were as of right now, 2,086 of these cannons, fully prepped for maximum firing speed, pointed directly at the Wolf. That would be a total of 1,013,796 of these air bullets in a single minute. Each moving at 1600ft per second, which would cause a very loud bang, like a machine gun after each shot. This bang, like the bang of all guns was the sound of the projectile breeching the sound barrier. Which would mean, that should Wolf not move, each bullet would rip into and out of him, and be 1600ft past him, before the bang even went off. Right now, his speed wouldnt be of much value, for even if he could move...where would he move? If all the cannons fired at once, dodging the bullets would be tantimount to dodging raindrops in a hurricane. This was not some suped up magical fantastic effect, this was actual science, of actual weaponry.

But that wasnt all. The wolf would also notice the set of glowing violet eyes which had recently come into view from his far left. The eyes belonged to a what looked like a man, a bald man with very fancy black track suit on. In the mans hand were two rich violet glowing balls. Each was about the size of the a softball and dazzled like a vibrant array of millions of brilliant shades of purple. The ball in the mans right hand controlled the Z.I.G. Cannons, a twitch of the right finger, and they all fired. Do you remember how the snow for some odd reason, refused to fall around the wolf? That was due to the ball in the mans left hand.

As of .65 seconds after he dented the door, a Zero G field was placed around the Wolf. This was controlled by the ball in his left hand. What did this mean? There was no gravity. Wolfs feet remained on the ground, simply because he hadnt chosen to use them yet. Should he choose to make a step the force his feet placed on the ground would lift him straight up, and cause him to simply float in mid air, as if swimming in the ocean with nothing pulling him up or down. Floating in the air, there would be no real objects to grab or push off of, and without something to move him, all amounts of strength and agility were useless. Like an astronaut, lost in space. A free target for a couple thousand remote Z.I.G. Cannons...should they fire. And of course, should he choose not to move, he was already a free target.

This left very few options considering, the fact that it took about a second and a half for the system to activate fully. And that magic was still fuly restricted in the area. Strange though, I've never seen a were wolf who was not magic...

As you might have already guessed, the figure holding both glowing balls, and using them as a visual reprentation of the Gravitons he was currently manipulating was...M4X himself. The newest member of the Doctors family. He spoke, and as per usual his voice did not sound in the slightest robotic but instead natural, yet strict. It was not how he spoke that made him sound like a machine, it was what he said. As he firmly spoke, from the shadows 400ft to the wolfs left.::

Access to the Black Hospital is strictly to prohibited to all except those suffering from medical emergencies, and visitors to those currently being treated.

Those without shirt or shoes, will not recieve entry.

You, anthromorphic lupis entity, fail to meet the requirements for entry.

This is your first, and final warning. Cease and desist all hostile activities or you will be terminated, and your remains will be used as spare parts.

:: Do not let the kind nature of his voice decieve. M4X is without a doubt a machine, and would not suffer guilt, or hesitate in pulling the perverbial trigger should he be ordered to. Not even a thought, and his photon processor, will trigger each turret simultaneously. This, if ever, was the time to tread carefully. This tower took months of plannings, countless hours of re-search into many sciences and maths, and yet months more to build, its defenses would not be over thrown by one little lonely puppy, with too much ego for its own good. The voice from behind the door spoke again, with a bit of meloncholy on her voice.::

Such a sad thing, so much pride...you could have just asked nicely....and you were such a cute little puppy too...

Now this was the problem. He was here to visit indeed. He was here to visit the rabbit, which he now felt was in mortal danger. Being the rabbit was the only thing he had seen in such a long time, he allowed his feelings to cross his better judgement. He should have assumed that this structure was much beyond "normal" and would have some type of defense machanisms to stop an intruders..

"Smooth one.." he taught down to himself. He took a gander to each of his arms, and spread them at a small angle away from his body, slowly, though time wasn't what it seemed to him, to signify that he meant no harm to the structure any longer.

"All of those pretty objects, just for me," he cockily joked with the being, knowing it was anything but human."Am I that much of a threat?",the voice, the exterior, couldn't fool him. He knew a human when he saw it. "And I assume that I am going to die now.." he shot off as he snickered.."what a way to end it all."

With anything, he knew that he could not escape all the large monstrocities about him, so, he relied on his more human capabilities, of speech and of persuasion.
"I have no food, and am suffering from malnutrition. I need to be seen by a doctor, and as for clothing, I wear what is natural about me. Fur is my only clothing. You must be a smart little trinket, search your brain for a wolf wearing a shirt, or shoes. Doesn't seem natural does it?"

He was a being of genetic creation. He was the result of mating between a Werebeing and a human, and through steady evolution and practice, he learned to control all three forms, and how to become them, as well as the advantages, disadvantages, and instincts of each. No magic befell his being. No aura of mystical power surrounded him. He was a creation, as if a child. A pure miracle of nature.

"Allows me entrance into the building, you, or whomever resides behind the big doorway. If you have such a defense grid, how would I be such a threat if I entered."

And then he remembered the meat."Steak you say. Steak a' la' sapian? Doesn't smell like any animal I have ever smelt, and I don't eat humans. Too much cholesteral," he announced, jokingly to himself."And the way you present it, pushing it through a slit in the door. Ooohh.. Am I to trust that, as a child trusts a man to give him candy out of the kindness of his heart."

Shakes his head slowly,"If you won't allow me entrance, seeing as I wear the clothing that is given to me naturally, I am here to visit, AND I have a medical problem to discuss with this famous 'doctor', when why create such perimeters that would disallow one in need to enter anyway?"

His light hues trace over to the door, lids shut midway between each lid. "I am not just a dog.. I am a human. I have feelings as humans do, and a mind as they do, only more. Do not refer to me as a dog, and treat me as such. It is belittling, and I don't appreciate it."

Turning back to the being with the orbs within his awaiting and ready appendages."I assume that is what you are using to control those gadgets, for if they were not, then why is it when you haven't moved them, those large 'things' hadn't moved either. I was too rash, I was too quick to judge, allow me to apologise. If I must wear a leash on entry, I would prefer it of dieng, but I would rather not. I fit your perimeters."

::The Android's left eye began to blink, instead of the bright violet one glow, it seemed as if a lightblub was out or some such. M4X's scanners had already begun analysis, these analysis consisted of Hair and DNA, Aura, Spectral, Etheral, Arcanic, X-ray, and Infa-red, Dental, Finger print, and other scans of the wolves biological structure. Inside M4X's HUD a line of text was visible to only him, as the results of his scan were displayed.::

::The 2,086 Z.I.G. Cannon's disabled, each fell back to the ground around the tower, with a loud clang. The Darksteel which had made their frames more than withstood the fall, and soon, snow would fall over them again making them "invisible" yet again. But the Zero G field remained active, as M4X approached the wolf, with his left hand yet still holding the glowing ball, and he spoke, cutting the wolf off mid sentence.::

You are lying. Your body shows no signs of malnutrion or weakness, beyond that of your normal Lupis life cycle. Dental scans reveal .36 microns of Leporidae ((Rabbit or Hare)) DNA in your front Inscisors. DNA scans match this DNA to a patient currently being treated in the Hospital. Samples taken from the patients jacket fabric confirm this connection and the presence of your fur on her clothing. We will not provide you with another free meal. Explain.

::It would probably be best to be completely honest this time. There still much that can be done to someone in a Zero G field. As was made clear by the way M4X's right hand began to glow yet again.::

Grunts shallowly, his pride hurt from being called a liar.

"My body might not show it on your little scanners, trinket," he spat at with avengance,"but there has been no food in my belly for quite some time. Due to the harsh weather about now-a-days, I find scarce amounts of food. I assure you, if I changed to a more human form, you would surely notice a change, but due to the direct shifts within the structures of my genetic material, I do believe that the protiens that feed my body keep me nourished enough in this form. Enough to sustain, and hunt for more.."

"As for the hare detection, I met up with this 'rabbit' if that is what you wish to call her when she was in a time of peril. I heard her out on the dense, desertous outlands of my territory, and went to investigate in hopes for another meal."

He licked his jaws, the thought of a hare making every gland within his mouth salivate, and the bellows of his intestine burn and churn for the taste of a rabbit, yet he kept control of himself, despite the relentless urge that felt as if it were colliding into his entrails with a jackhammer with immense force.

"When I found her, I found her weak, unable to move, frozen in place, so I offered her my assistance, and, like so many others have, denied it. You see, my appearance doesn't do my nature justice. She was bound toward a house that I knew to be empty, and staggered along with no grace, but determination. So, I forced my help upon her, and gave her a ride to the house, where she was deposited. Again, I offered a nice, warm home, and a place for her to rest her numb limbs, and carried her in my mouth, you see, to my home, where she rested for a short time, and departed again."

"If you can tell whether I suffer from malnutrition, then you simply must be able to detect whether I lie to you or not."

He pushes his head towards the orb within his palm."If I lie, I die.. I am sure of that. You offered me a chance to walk away, but I do not lie. I would rather not die today, for I have much to do, and much time left to do it.."

::The glow in M4X's right hand was not without function. The Wolf might notice, if he was looking closely enough, that the 10ft area of stagnant snow around him, had shrunk. The area was now closer to a 5ft area, what he also might notice, is the strange reaction the snow had in that extra 5ft of area outside the zero g field. As opposed to simply floating downward, the snow shot up as if launched out of a cannon, it simply rocketed up. And as the seconds passed the speed at which it fell increased, until the snow was rising so fast it seemed like countless strips of white shooting straight up around the wolf.::

"When I found her, I found her weak, unable to move, frozen in place, so I offered her my assistance, and, like so many others have, denied it. You see, my appearance doesn't do my nature justice--

Niether does your drool. Die.

::M4X raised his left fist, and in one cold emotionless movement, he slammed it shut. The Zero G field shut off, much like the lights in your house shut off when you flick the light switch. And much like that light switch, this action would lead to quite alot of darkness. With the zero G field gone, the wolf was free to "suffer" the effects of gravity. And suffer was truly the operative word, as the second gravitional field would take over, and as was evident by the snow, it would cast the wolf to the left....far...to the left. The feeling the creature would feel was would be similar to what one might feet if they were pinned to the front of a speeding train, pure motion, out and away. With a creature of the wolfs size and wieght it was calculated that he would fly at the very least 24,000 ft straight vertical, before the force faded, and he was left to free fall straight downward for all of 12 seconds.

12 seconds being the amount of time it would take for M4X to reverse the polarity of the field, so that the wolf would come crashing down at liquifying speeds, and impact the ground. A cold death...

But, as M4X released the original field, and the wolf was meant to fly straight up, a voice was heard. A calm voice...from the front door of the Black Hospital, the door the wolf had been banging on, not but a few minutes earlier, a door which was now wide open with a man standing in its archway. A man in a pale white lab coat, with various obvious stains across its surface. His hair, was eternal spiked, to the left, and his left forearm seemed from some odd reason, thicker than his right. And both his hands were neatly in his deep coat pockets. His voice was average enough...though it did have a very strange accent.::

Vait!

::He said, as the Wolf would skid to a dead stop about 10ft above the ground.::

Father?

::The android said with a look of confusion on his face. This was not to be mistaken with emotion, M4X was preprogrammed with several responce to fit certain occasions, this was one. The man continued.::

Yez Maxvell, let him down.

::M4X did as he was told, and the wolf was unceremoniously dropped to the ground, there the man in the lab coat would walk up to him, and pull two things from his pockets as he spoke. One was a needle, a needle filled with a very very strange silvery substance, it looked like liquid metal but the needle was far to cool for it to actually be such a thing. The second was a colar, it was lined with several spikes like you might see on a dog colar, and one singular red gem. This man spoke firmly, and directly, the tone in his voice showing clearly that he was in no mood to negotiate.::

You may enter but five circumztances.

::As he spoke, he held out his right hand, which was clothed in white surgical glove in order to symbolize a 4, as he held up 4 fingers.::

Von, you must stay in your human form at all times. Tvo, you muzt vhere zhiz colar at all times. Three, you muzt take zhiz injection, twice a day, vhen I administer it. Four, if you ever call my zon a trinket again, puppy, I vill keep you alive, and avake as ve uze you for spare partz.

In return, ve vill cloth you, ve vill feed you, and ve vill care for you as long az you are here. Vhat do you say? Yes or no. Von vord anzwer, no ztoriez. Zhere is nothing else.

Pain...

His shoulders, his tricepts, bicepts, abdomen, all muscles twitched, adrenaline surging throughout his bloodstream, his animalistic instincts peaked in his time of agony, incomprehendable heat radiating from his body, for his core felt colder than his exterior. Blinded somewhat by the feeling, he was able to shake it off, loud noises ringing through his ears, a migrane taking hold of his mind, invading, driving out all thought and letting its' prescense be known.

"Son of a.... ow... ugh... where did the friggen' train go.."

Trieng to shake of diziness..

"Ugh.. drool doesn't lie eh. If you were hungry.. IF YOU COULD FEEL HUNGER," he growled ".. you would drool. I haven't eaten in days," he spat, ever retaliant against being again, mistaken for a liar. He had no intentions of lieng. He merely wanted to see his friend, the only friend he had known and spoken to in so long.

"As for you.." he wheezed.."that sounded like four circumstances to me.."

He staggered to his feet, in pain, but not immobile, but kept low to the ground, his ears lain acrosst his forehead in an obediant manner, a short whimper escaping his muzzle as his bulk lurked over the ground, back extended into the air, head hung low to the ground..

"Not to insult your intelligence, due to your apperance you must be an intelligent man, but you are either mistaken, or hiding something from me. I don't like needles, let alone not knowing what is being put into my body, so you will have to explain before I comply with that."

Lifts an arm and extends a solemn finger at his 'son'.

"And if that collar is anything like that being.. your 'son', and it controlled my body or thoughts in any way, I would rather die.."

Clenched his eyes closed, and as he did so, a bright, blooming radiance surrounded his form, blinding anything about him, anything watching, enshrouding him within a parody of luminescense. After a minute or two, the light faded back to nothing, as if it were never there, but what the light witheld had changed, he was now in his sapian form, his body exposed and naked, vulnerable to the watchful eyes of the two.

"If I am to stay in human form all the time, I would rather start, and be, clothed now.."

"If I had to give you an answer now.. one word, despite my thoughts on the subject.." he began, as he lifted his head to the stranger before him.."I would say yes"...

It vas.

::The Doctor said with a smirk.::

The fifth condition ve do not speak of, you vill discover if you go against it, you vill know.

::Those last 3 words were said rather stern. As if it this mysterious fifth condition was said extremely important, the sort of thing that Doctor, despite his word games, was not joking, or playing around with. The tone of his voice...the look on his face, he was serious, excusing the pun, dead serious. And it was plain to see that he wanted that to be very clear.::

::The Doctor had long since folded his arms and began to tap his foot while whistling a small toon. If this was a one word answer, the wolf needed to learn to count. After all was said and done, he spoke. A definite tone if impatience on his voice. He really wasnt interested in hearing anymore of this non-sense.::

Ahh, I see. I must have made a miztake. I believed I vas talking to a creature who needed assistance, and waz asking me for it. A creature who waz ztarving and on the brink of death, and needed medical attention. But I zee, I am talking to pride filled animal who vould rather die zhan have thingz not be to hiz specificationz. You, puppy, are quite blind. Vhy vould I need to control your mind vhen I already control your life? Look around you, do you see any food? Do you hear any other life at all?

::The simple answer was no. In an 2 mile radius it seemed that next to nothing was alive, except maybe more wolves. Nothing lived in this land by choice, and if it did, it didnt last for very long. Days on days of exploration revealed that to be very true.::

Vithout my help, you are already dead. You are a smart doggy, you have very good earz I am sure, yet zeem to have heard zomething in my last speach vhich gave you the idea that thiz vas a negotiation? You zeem to think you are zome type of King and you have zome type of rightz zhiz place. You do not, zhiz is my home, and my land, built vith my own hands, cursed for my own beliefz. If I had not told my zon to let you go, you vould already be dead. I do not like your tone...the vay you yell at and insult my family, and yet you vant to enter my home?

::What was that? That reaction. That bright blinding light, was that science? Was that nature? Was that something that could be reproduced over an over in a lab with common materials found anywhere on Gaia? Was that something that could be cold and calculated and broken down into a mathemical formula explaining its existance? Where there any other normal, natural wolves that made a bright light and then changed species completely? No. This was not hard science.

That was magic. The Doctor was being decieved, here he had believed that all this time he was speaking to a creature of "nature" dealing with a "genetic" creation. Lies. Nothing about this creature was the truth.

The Doctor sneezed, yes sneezed, but not because of the cold, instead this was because of an allergy. An allergy to Magic. But this was more than a simple sneeze, or a rash.

The Doctor was more than sure that when the wolf entered his domain, that his anti-magic field was active, and yet this childish act still transpired. Amazing. Magic is nothing more than the plaything of children who lack the intellegence to mold or shape nature, true nature, the scientific world to their will. But instead use cheap tricks and short cuts. It was pathetic, it was a waste. At least to the Doctor. And to the Doctor, creatures of magic were wastes of breath and matter. That went double for lying magic creatures. Amazing, that without even trying this Waste had stumbled across the 5th condition. No magic.

The Doctors face underwent a transformation of sorts. It contorted and bent to a look behold hatred, of pure unbridled disgust. The thing before him was lower than dirt. He did not feel the need to explain himself to something so worthless. He turned around and as he walked away he picked up the piece of "steak" from off the ground, and with his foot stomped on the blood stained snow it left behind. Even the meat was too good to be consumed by something so lowly as that magic creature. He stepped firmly inside the large door followed my his son.

And when he spoke, he spoke with a tone similar to the tone one a person might use using when describing the excrement they scraped off their boot.::

I do not know how you entered my land vith my anti-majik field in place, but I do not care. I do not know how you performed your "amazing" act of childish stupidity vithin my field, but I am glad you did. I can zee you for vhat you are, before you defiled my home. I do not vant the ztink of your corpze near my home. Be gone.

::And with that, he spat, as if trying to spit out the horrible taste which was in his mouth from speaking to the waste. But before his spit even hit the ground, the large metal doors to the tower slammed shut with a thunderous clang, and a rumbling was heard as a large set of gears locked it in place.

Without help, the wolf might die, or he might survive. It didnt matter either way to that man, he only hoped that he would suffer along with all his kind.

In the end, the Wolfs downfall was brought about by pride. The Doctor had dealt with many magical creatures in the past and ignored his allergy to do what needed to be done. But this beast, and the way it chose to demand its way as if others had some sort of responsibility to please it...that had already put hom on thin ice, before its magically nature was even revealed.

And for his pride, he had a Darksteel door he could talk too, with no one listening behind it. Or perhaps his empty stomach would make for great conversation, or maybe his own shadow? Who knows? Furthermore who cares? Pride had landed him the same place it landed the Doctor, cold and alone.::

That was very harsh.

::Said Mary, as she beheld the Doctor storming into his office a few minutes later, on the 23 floor.::

He lied to me Mary, I dezpize Majak's enough without having von lie straight to my face...May his "majik" have mercy on his soul, I certainly shall not.

The slamming of The Doctor's door boomed through out the large steel building down to the recovery area. It's only patient sat quietly looking about the large room as the dispute from above could be heard in her long snow white ears. Madi wondered what was exactly happening that would make The Doctor so upset, he seemed like a gentle man when she first met him. But to every creature there was always another side to them. She sighed alittle as she sat up slowly releasing a few small cough causing her to wince once more.

Slowly she moved her fingers infront of her face gazing at them with curiousity. With grace and skill she began to move them as though she was twirling a weapon of somesort. Her movement quickened as they began to move faster and faster, Finally she froze as though she made a finishing killer move. A smile formed on her face as her slender hands where once more placed on her lap on the bed.

"Why did you take them Johnathon? Why? Those where my childern, my defense....without them I got nothing." sighed the rabbit in thought as she closed her eyes and leaned her red hair back against the pillow. Small tears began to roll down her cheeks softly as she began to think of the pirate who she trusted.

The world around her began to fade once more as though she was the only being in existance. It felt as though time had stopped and her body temperature dropped about 70 degrees. Slowly, a being appeared before her. It was a familuar being, he was tall and dressed in not the world's greatest attire. But still in some. His smile seemed warm and gentle, but his blue eyes were harmful and devistating hich caused her tears to fall harder.

"YOU!" Screamed Madi in rage and yet...sadness, it was infact the one she knew before. It was Johnothan. Rather than replying her he stood before her, without saying a word. Just gazing at her. Without warning, she ran towards him at full speed. Not even considering her weak legs and her weak lungs. Her rage drove her. Once infront of him, she swung a meanful punch. Her swing however didn't seem to even phase him, infact it went right through him. Madi blinked and looked at him once more. Her heart began to sank as her lips trembled, within secounds her body fell to the floor, passing through the pirate. Once she hit the ground, he disappeared and she was alone yet again.

*~*

Madi, was infact asleep, as tears rolled down her face along with harsh coughing. She didn't seem to wake up, even as her heart monitor beside her began to race with the speed of her heart.

The young rabbit began to shake violently as though she was having a seizure. On one of the many machines she was hooked upto her body temperature seemed to be dropping rather quickly. Suddenly her body stopped shaking and fell limp. It seemed she was now a puppet as she countinued to wonder her mind. The only thing that could be heard in the room is the machine beeping faster and faster.

//These corpses are heavier than I expected.//

It was very cold outside, it always was here, but to Art it felt colder than the first time he arrived. This kid of chill went beyond just temperature, it dug deep inside you, untill you could feel the icy wind of the north peeling away at your heart.

Art Valentine had just finished his first, and, unbeknowsnt to him, last mission. It had gone disastrously. They had approached an Orc encapment, and as they went over strategy with which to eliminate the enemy before moving on, they were suprised by the Orcs themselves returning from a hunt, the Kyonuske had no chance, they were off gaurd, out-numbered, and in direct combat.

Because they were well-disciplined, and some of the most highly trained humans in this world, they felled two orcs for every Kyonuske, despite the odds. Every last one perished, Orc and Ninja alike. All but Art, once again the unwilling survivor. He knew that these people saved his life, and something of his former culture wouldn't allow him to leave the corpses of his brothers in the same pool of blood as the filth responsible for thier death.

So, he grit his teeth and drug them a good distance away. Thinking of Home.

//This will not go over well. This should not have happened, if they had just stayed on the hunt for longer, we'dve slit thier throats as they told thier half-true war-stories around the fire! Dead as rocks.//

The corpses he carried left deep impressions in the snow, getting lost would not be a problem, even in a storm like this.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Some time later.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Rest in peace, brrothers."The sentiment escaped his lips in a whisper stolen from the air by a passing wind. "Time to head on home."
He padded through the thick snow with relative ease, stepping light so as to avoid being in any one place too long, the tower he lived in soon rose up before him. Not increasing pace in any way, he made his path to the door, at the base of the tower.
Loud, hollow booming sounds accompanied his knock, he waited.
No answer.
He tried again, three loud booms echoed back.
No answer, again.
//What...? Could they already know? Is this punishment?//
This time he put his strength into it, the door swung open on the second knock.
"The function of a hospital is to save its guests from Death or pain. This was the fucntion of your normal hospitals, the hospitals which sit with large parking lots in the middle of the richest neighborhoods in town. The hospitals filled with rich doctors and richer patients, who's day to day exploits are broadcast over the TV as the norm."
::The scritches on the table were highly audible, graphite scrapping against paper, paper made of wood, wood made from arrows.::
"I swear to fulfill, to the best of my ability and judgment, this covenant:
I will respect the hard-won scientific gains of those physicians in whose steps I walk, and gladly share such knowledge as is mine with those who are to follow.
I will apply, for the benefit of the sick, all measures which are required, avoiding those twin traps of overtreatment and therapeutic nihilism.
I will remember that there is art to medicine as well as science, and that warmth, sympathy, and understanding may outweigh the surgeon's knife or the chemist's drug. I will not be ashamed to say "I know not," nor will I fail to call in my colleagues when the skills of another are needed for a patient's recovery.
I will respect the privacy of my patients, for their problems are not disclosed to me that the world may know. Most especially must I tread with care in matters of life and death. If it is given me to save a life, all thanks. But it may also be within my power to take a life; this awesome responsibility must be faced with great humbleness and awareness of my own frailty. Above all, I must not play at God.
I will remember that I do not treat a fever chart, a cancerous growth, but a sick human being, whose illness may affect the person's family and economic stability. My responsibility includes these related problems, if I am to care adequately for the sick. I will prevent disease whenever I can, for prevention is preferable to cure.
I will remember that I remain a member of society, with special obligations to all my fellow human beings, those sound of mind and body as well as the infirm.
If I do not violate this oath, may I enjoy life and art, respected while I live and remembered with affection thereafter. May I always act so as to preserve the finest traditions of my calling and may I long experience the joy of healing those who seek my help.
I remember the oath as clearly as the day I swore it. The hippocratic oath, sworn by all in my profession, sworn before god. To god."
::The scitching stopped, as the pencil was layed on the table for a fraction of a second. There was the light sound of ruffling and moving fabric as hands ran freely through red hair, not red like a beat but red like the irish, a few orangeish hairs drifted over the paper. A sigh was released from tired lungs as the paper was picked up yet again, and the scritching began yet again.::
"And yet I break it every day that I live.
This is a Black Hospital, we releive pain and suffering, but we do not fight what is meant to be....death. We welcome it----"
: razz erhaps that would explain what happened below him, and unbeknownst to him. In the operating room there sat a small rabbit girl, her body was gently laying on a operating room table, her soul and mind were at war, but her body was at peace. With a solemn look on her she flicked off the heart monitor machine, and sat. A few feet back she folded her arms and watched. Whatever happened now was beyond her control, or the Doctors control. As night fell "thought it was hard to tell night here, the tower grew silent as it settled for the night. M4X moved to a small room for recharge, and the only thing left stirring, was Madi.::
Lightly, the young rabbit's head tossed from side to side lightly as the remainder of her body rested peacefully like a pile of lead. Her firery red hair slowly fell over her face, blocking her vision if she had any if she any at that moment. Her breathin patterns began to return to normal for a moment then speed up alittle yet again as though she was running a marathon. Her face seemed at peace though at the occasional moment, a wince would form and then disappear into the depths of her subconcious.
Without any warning the young rabbit quickly shot up, her face full of fear for a breif moment but what was going on was beyound her. She finally relaxed to remember where exactly she was. Her body felt drenched in sweat as it seemed she rested for an enternity or something. Slowly she gazed about to soon notice that a machine to the left side of her bed was off. Her eye twitched a moment as one of her fragile hands gently touched the top.
"What the hell?" spoke Madi quietly with curiousity, her attention was drawn to the long piece of paper with multiple strains of lines. Her mind began to wonder with curiousity, she had seen this before. Where was the only question. Her eyes countinued to wander at it until finally she grabbed the sheet to look at it more closely.
The dark lines seemed completely out of wack, going in strange patterns and movements. On one end of it she managed to find a smiley face drawn into the patterns as though a five year old had their fun with it. She cocked her head cautiously as she countinued to look over it.
The door eased open, swung on soundless hinges carefully made with such prescision, such fine skill, that oiling them was a yearly chore. What lay past this door, nearly sent young Artemis into a mental state of shock.
The cold air blew in, brushing some of the frost from his blue-tinged hair, this new air did nothing to remove the stench of blood, and death, and betrayal from the air. As far as he could see, level uopon level of his precious home, was filled with the corpses of his people, his...family. Ever since his real family had died, who had taken care? Them. Who had given him life, and a strong, powerful one at that, when it would have been easier to leave him to fight for himself in the wasteland.
He sunk to his knees, filled his hands with his eyes, and wept.
+++++++++++++++++++++Hours Pass...+++++++++++++++++++++++
His hollow footsteps echoed through the now-empty tower, past body after body, he checked each one, to see if he knew someone. He saw several that he had known, but other than his new father, and his sensei, he did not really know anyone. Not really. His thoughts drifted, and he remembered something. Something important.
The sound of footsteps increased to a rapid pace, as he ascended the tower, to his old training dojo, he ran to the sensei's seat, and found His sword. There it lay, unsheathed, marred, old, and looking like simple Iron. He always referred to it as "The Sword of Night and Day" Although it never seemed to be of much import. Art knew he would not want to die without it being passed on to a student. With heavy heart, and a mind beginning to cloud with the dark rage of vengance, he grasped several dozen throwing stars, the Sword, and two small daggers, strapped to his side.
His master also spoke of a friend, a Red Monk, that could be found in Gaia. Perhaps the monk could help him find who did this. God knows, it's unlikely he will find aynone in this white hell.
If anything, they'd have to find him.
Dark Conspiracy
Lightly, the young rabbit's head tossed from side to side lightly as the remainder of her body rested peacefully like a pile of lead. Have fun?
::Mary said as the little rabbit girl rose from her "sleep". Her green eyes slid to the heart monitor machine, and then back to the heart read out. And she tilted her head slightly to the side and spoke with the cheery voice of a bubbly little teenager.::
I got bored so I drew on the paper. Theres cute lil' bunnies and two lil chickies on the back side.
::She reached the operating table beside her. The table carrying knives, scalpels, saws, and a few ungodly devices, but atop the table and atop the cutlry was a wooden tray with two jet black cups steaming with some sort of brownish liquid. It smelled sweet and yet familiar. Or maybe if Madi's tiny rabbit nose hadnt defrosted it didnt smell like anything at all!
That didnt matter. As Mary slid the tray closer, with her "leather" boots sliding as her feet shuffled all zombie like, she tried her best to smile. But right after an injection she always felt so stiff. In all honesty she was scared. Compared to her Madi was perfect. Buckteeth? Ha, Mary had teeth implanted into her skull. She would do anything to get rid of the scars, or fix herself so she wouldnt need those "injections". Her right sleave was rolled up just enough to show the needle wounds in her forearm. They werent drugs she needed this to live...but her really meant to pull her sleave down.
It was like looking at a model of what you wish you could be, but will never be. Like a celebrity in a magazine. She tried to look Madi right in the eyes, but still one could see the shyness in her eyes. Her eyes themselves were green as purest emerald, even though on eye was a shade darker than the other, they were still a beautiful thing to look at. Even despite the bit of worry they held...or maybe just the worry this part of her held. There were so many peices in her that she could change at a moments notice. One could never be sure, the way she switched at random or why. But one could be sure that as she slid the tray over to Madi she spoke with a smile.::
Heres some hot coco! I made it myself, the orange cup is yours, I put a little carrot stuff in it. Have as much of the carrot cake as you like.
::Her hand was a bit shaky, but she grabbed the warm cup and offered it to Madi with a smile. And beside the choco, thats right, carrot cake. Freshly baked too. She carefully pulled her hands back as she noticed her sleave. With a quick tug she tried to cover the marks on her arm.::
When your done, your room is ready.
