"Haha, my room is right by theres...I may not have to take after them myself, but I still hear it." Li said with a laugh. "Well I honestly wasnt asking you for a duel, just if you would help me with my drills, maybe give me some advise, you know...show me instead of lecturing."

Nuiko sighed. It was those teachers. She could hear them now.
Little Nuiko had the makings of a real master. Quick to catch onto anything. She'll fuss, but you just watch her when she does it. Real skill that-
"Fine," she said. "But if you tell any of those teachers that I'm giving in, the most difficult decision I will face in the near future will be who to throttle."

Li laughed at this comment "Trust me I think thed throttle me themselfs for getting help from someone other than them..."
Li positioned himself beside her, bending his knees and placed his fists to his side. "Well, Master Nuiko..." he said with a chuckle "What my first lesson?"

"Widen your stance," Nuiko instructed. "Firebending is difficult on the body. A more controlled stance will make it easier as well as help to focus your mind."

Li looked over too Nuiko "What is with you teachers and always widening the stance? Next thing you know firebenders will be doing the splits as they bend." He sighed and moved his legs wider apart, and began breathing.

"At least when you're doing the splits you have control and can't be knocked over," Nuiko reprimanded. "If you want that other stuff, go be an airbender."
She matched his stance and focused on her breathing.
"Imagine your breath coming in cold, but leaving hot," she murmured. "As it enters your body, it touches the fire within your stomach, and leaves warmer than before."

Li laughed at the remark, but then he suddenly got very serious, a cold look took over his eyes, he closed his eyes and focused on his breathing. He inhaled, feeling the icey chill of the cold air fill his lungs. As he breathed out, he felt it warm. He continued inhaling and exhaling for a while untill he felt that he had done it right......"Ok, widened stance, breathing,...whats next?"
He looked over at Nuiko, seeing for the first time the truely gifted bender she really was, he could respect her...maybe even acctualy learn from her.

"Next, focus on turning that heat into flame," Nuiko murmured. "The heat, you supply. The air and fuel are both floating around you. Focus your heat on them, but do not let go of it."

Li looked over to her "Are you teaching me to breath fire?". He focused on the warm air exhaling from his mouth and a small, controled flame embered into life. "Am I doing this right here?".

"Yes," Nuiko replied. "On both counts. But when you increase the size, you must also increase your focus."
To demonstrate, she flowed through the familiar pattern. Breathe in, out, cold, hot. Dust particles and air flying around her and... she released a careful spurt of fire, the length of her arm, and held it there only a moment before allowing it to fade into oblivion.
"Now, I'm no Dragon of the West," she said. "But that should be about how it's done."

Li nodded to Nuiko, and once again focused on his breathing, feeling the cool air in, the hot air out. The small flame once again breathed to life, a small stream of fire burned forth from the breath out of his mouth. He focused on it more, atempting to increase. The flame started to grow, both in heat and in brilliance...then it exploded forward, knocking him back onto the ground. "Eh, I see what you mean by keeping my stance balanced..."

Nuiko chuckled, offering a hand to help him up.
"All in all, I'm surprised you haven't encountered that problem before."

Li reached up and grabbed her hand and pulled himself up, wiping grass off the back of his pants, "Yea, I think my pride fell worse that I did though." he said laughing, slightly embarressed. "Ill be sure to master it soon, just wait and see."

Li shot a look over too her "Ha ha, laugh all you want now, but when Im kicking your butt next time we spar then we'll see whos helping who off the ground!" He looked up twards the star filled sky, then turned back to Nuiko. "Thanks for your help..."
