~Leadstorm nodded. "Never Heard of him..." he looked around again, but didn't see anyone who looked like they'd fit the bill. "I still haven't explained why I need a 'runner..." He leaned in closer to Trau. "The bike I stole Uses a Highly advanced AI system in addition to smartlinks for Optimal control." He paused. "And unfortunately, Security. I need someone to Crack The AI's Code, and put my genetic information on the Bike's crew list. Otherwise all it'll do for me is tell me I'm not Authorized to start it. If I'm lucky I'll find one that can alter the Son of a b***h's personality a bit, too." ~

Trau laughed. "A nasty personality, eh?" He paused and glanced around the room. It was starting to fill up quite nicely, but many of the faces looked a little rough around the edges to haunt the net. A butcher shop, maybe, but not the net...not in any serious way, anyway.

Trau scanned the crowd, looking for a ghostly face, a face that's seen little daylight and a whole hell of a lot of grid. A face that was as cold as ice. He took a drink, and then turned back to Leadstorm when a thought suddenly occurred to him; something he passed off on first hearing, but as he though about it, it caused confused questioning. "Wait, you actually still have the bike?"

~Leadstorm almost fell off his stoll with laughter at the shock in Trau's voice. "Yeah, but it won't run without a digital labotomy" He said after regaining his composure. "It's still in the semi trailer it was loaded in when I stole it. Damn thing won't even go into reverse without the right DNA..." He paused for a moment. "Why?"

Dressed as a cliche schoolgirl, the AI blends in perfectly with the party goers. The only thing that could possibly make her out as different was the seriousness in her eyes and the fact that she walks to the back and enters a door that she shouldn't be able to open.

And like that she's in.

"She's managed to get past the security to the LEVIATHAN room boss." Dom tells Calder over his sub dermal comm. He's been trailing the girl since she left her flat in Spire and entered the club. The AI almost definitely knew he was following and decided that he wasn't worth the effort and exposure to take out. That hurt Dom's feelings.
"I hope whatever Rane's got prepared for you fries your a**, b***h." He says to himself as he does his best to blend in, nodding to the beat and heading to his savior, the bartender.

~Leadstorm sees a fammiliar face in the crowd, and waves him over to Trau and himself. Maybe Dom would know where to find a netrunner with an axe to grind with the 'corpies...~

Trau shrugged. "It may be backward of me saying this, and I feel a little odd saying it, me being what can be considered a 'wayward son' of the city...but where could you hide a tractor trailer in this place?" He paused and considered getting another drink. Trau never bargained for this, and it was starting to make his head hurt. Life on the road was so much simpler. He could bounce from dirt-farm town to dirt-farm town, sleeping under a tarp strapped to his bike. Sure, he'd have to put up with the locals, the wandering RV nomads and all-around circus freak-level 'townies' in grime-bleached wife beaters drinking 15 year-old stockpiled cola, but he could deal with them. They knew enough not to mess with him or his bike, else they'd be forced to leave minus a limb.

And that, to those people, was everything. They didn't have the clinics and ripperdocs like they had in this city. They couldn't go down to the corner market and get a replacement prosthetic like they were buying nachos, a six pack, and a cheap porno. It was a part of life here, and Trau just couldn't seem to readjust.

He felt dizzy and his mouth felt like it was being filled with gauze soaked in kerosene. He leaned against the bar to stabilize himself. Something in the back of his head pierced the back of his eyes, twin needles of sunlight, mixing with the dubbed beats of the club and party lights. The words of...spoken like a...filing.

Trau sighed and regained his balance. He followed Leadstorm's gaze. "DNA, huh? Messy s**t, that...or that's what Jürgen used to say. Told me to not worry about it...leave it to the pros." Trau finished off his glass and slid it back onto the bar. "That man was a piece of s**t."

"Peice of s**t or not, he was right, we leave s**t like that to the pros... only problem is there aren't any pros around to leave it to right now..."He said after trau finished.~

Trau grunted. "I laid off the booze a few drinks back, been nursing water since; I don't have the biotics to shrug off booze, and I'd rather stay in fighting shape" he said, noting the strangeness of the phrase. He ordered more water. "Just these damn headaches been eating at me."

((I spend too much time away from here.. I get the feeling Leadstorm and Trau could be after Joe's services though, you guys had me interested the moment you mentioned screwing over a corporation))

He continued dancing for a bit longer before he let the crowd carry Eseen away from him. She had repaid what she owed him and after he realised that he couldn't get any further with her, he had given up on that motive, a pitty really, but she wasn't worth the effort.

Thus, he made his way through the crowd and finding a seat at the bar next to Leadstorm and Trau (convenient) before ordering a drink. This time, it was one which wouldn't have ill effects of the sorts Eseen had if someone else randomly chose to steal it.

As he waited, he scanned the area for Mark. Even though he'd never met the man in his life, the fact that he had promised to watch Joe and Eseen was enough to make him wary now.

Once he had his drink, he lifted it slightly into the direction of the two men and mumbled.

"cheers"

Before taking a drink from the liquid finding it to definatly contain a decent amount of alcohol as he screwed up his face at the taste.

As the schoolgirl entered the look on her face perplexed Mark, but he shrugged it off. If it was anything serious he'd get word of it anyway. Mark was pretty sure nothing was going to go down, for the moment anyway so he headed back towards the bar t get another drink.

"I don't think anything is going to happen anyway" he mumbled to himself as he made his way towards the bar.

~"Headaches, 'eh? have you had a doc in there to see what's going on?" Leadstorm asked, followed by "well it looks like this trip is turning out to be a bust, I haven't seen a 'Runner that fits the bill yet..."

((He does indeed, I was just slow with the vocab))

He decided against having the rest of the drink, hanging onto it more for decoration than anything else.

By pure chance, he caught a couple of words from the conversation happening next to him, specifically 'Runner' and 'bill' A smile formed as he leant closer to the two, to compensate for the noise around them.

"You guys looking for anyone specifically?"

He asked, showing some curiousity.

Trau looked over to the man and nodded. "A pharmacist...unless you happen to have something for a headache on you?" He took another swig of water, and then shrugged. "Do you 'run?"

He shook his head.

"Sorry mate, can't help you with the pharmacist"

He prefered his head clear and not full of drugs. A look of curiousity crossed his face as Trau asked if he ran.

"That would depend on who you are"

He replied. Sure, he 'ran', most people did if the word was taken litterally. Few did netruns, but until he was sure that the two next to him weren't out to get him, he wasn't likely to admit to being a netrunner.

~"Us? We're just a couple of drifters out for revenge that need the assistance of a 'runner who'll work for the betterment of mankind. and if not that, a very discounted rate..." Leadstorm said, hoping this guy could do what needed to be done and get his new set of wheels to cooperate.~

Eseen Hawkins

PostPosted: Mon Mar 12, 2007 11:50 pm

Eseen had made her tour of the dance floor for the moment and her head was swimming from the effect of alcohol. The only thing kept her in line was the loud beat which she'd regret as ringing of the ears in the morning. For now though, it didn't matter, she needed a short break which was given by the melody of the current song fading out into another transition beat.

She made her way off, back to the bar with a frown on her face once she discovered her drink had mysteriously disappeared. Not that it was a bad thing at this time, having her drink spiked would end up disasterous for her. Then again, she was too plastered to understand this concept at this point in time. The only thing on her mind was a bit more alcohol of which she planted down a bill for a shot.

On doing this, she suddenly took notice of the people beside her, recognising Joe from the method of keeping time she used when she was off her face, a few songs ago. Unsure of what they were discussing, the thought came to mind of lightening one of these mens wallets. Instead, she caught the last part of what Joe spoke to these men. She was given as much insight as needed on to what they were saying when one of them asked about a 'runner to be hired for a fee.

"You actually think you'll get someone to run for you without payment?" The girl chortled before downing the shot put on the counter. A cough escaped her lungs when her body had discovered how strong the substance was, but she took it in stride. "You can't just hire someone hoping they'll take on your job because of your cause you think is just."
