Ceri giggles even more just from the tickle motion Koko makes, then spreads her arms wide, repeating after Koko, "Boom!" She crosses her eyes when tapped on the nose, she wasn't going to explode from laughing, was she? 'Course not! But, she hadn't laughed quite this much about much lately.

"Heee," she watches Koko's fingers, but is still caught off guard by the sudden 'tickle attack.' The thule shrieks delightedly, her wings and tail waving about wildly.

Myze sits on the couch, glancing from the tree to watch Koko and Ceri play silently. This is soo interesting.

Ecavi smiles at Kari, "Really? That's great!" She pauses, glancing around the kitchen, "Would you be able to do it here, or would you need to take it home? I don't have much here, but .. I'd never know what's useful." She shrugs.

Koko haulted the 'attack,' smiling. She peered over at Myze for a moment, curious. "I guess you don't want to come over here, huh? It's pretty fun, you know."

She pouted, almost looking offended, but really wasn't.

"Maybe I should bring them home with me," Kari pondered this. "I promise to get them back as soon as I'm done, though!"

Myze gives Koko a 'you've got to be kidding me' look, unresponsive to the offended look.

Ceri, on the other hand, slowly calming down from the laughter, coos and stands on her tippy-toes, trying to reach Koko. Failing that, she decides to just hug what she can reach, "Haaaaaaappy~!"

"Alright," Ecavi smiles, "That'll be great, thank you!" She looks around the kitchen, "Oh- if you want anything to eat or drink we're in the right place, you know~?"

"Alright, then," Koko shrugged, stroking Ceri's hair. "I'm glad you're happy! That's at least one good thing I've done today," she nodded.

Kari shook her head, "No, that's alright. I, what would you call it - taste tested some of the things Koko made while we were at the bakery. I figure that's enough for me! But thanks anyway."

The thule scratched her head, thinking.

"Maybe I should get going back home now, so I can get these back soon."

Ceri coos into Koko's knee, then looks up at her, "Yes, good ting!" She giggles, then something sparkly on the Christmas tree catches her eye so she turns her head towards the tree.

"Ismas tree!" She exclaims, she waddles toward it, trying to drag Koko with her.

"Presents!" She says, pointing to some boxes under the tree.

Ecavi beams, "Alright then, thank you very much for agreeing to help me out." She pushes herself back up from leaning on the counter again, "We should go back to the living room so they don't think we disappeared."

"Ah, presents under the Christmas tree," Koko said happily, walking after Ceri. She knelt down so she could get a look and the presents themselves.

"Do you know which ones are yours?"

"No problem, Aunt 'cavi! And you're right," Kari agreed. "You first, I insist," the thule joked; though, seeing as it was 'cavi's house, she found that perfectly normal.

"That one," Ceri said, pointing to a present labelled for her, "And that one-" this time she pointed to one for Jasmine, "an' that one-" again, not for her..

"All the presents!" She exclaims, holding her arms out.

Ecavi grins, "Alright then."

She heads for the living room, peeking in in time to see Ceri explaining how all of the presents under the tree are for her.

Myze, still sitting quietly on the couch, turns her gaze to Ecavi and Kari when they return to the living room..
PostPosted: Sat Dec 24, 2005 1:40 pm

Koko laughed at the day thule's actions, "No, not all the presents! I only see one for you," she explained. It was amusing, at the very least, that Ceri thought all the presents were for her. "But, I'll tell you what, I'll get you something special for Christmas. How's that sound?"

She only turned to look at 'cavi and Kari, grinning. "What took you so long, I wonder? That's alright, though; me and Ceri were bonding, I believe."

Kari followed her aunt, hairpins in hand. When she heard Koko speak, she could only laugh.

"Bonding, huh? Well, as nice as that is, we should get going. I've got something to do," she said, and plainly left it at that.

"No?" Ceri repeated, considering what Koko said- one present was hers. She holds up one finger to Koko, ignoring Ecavi and Kari for a moment, "One?"

Still holding up the one finger, she grins widely when Koko promises her something special, "Spesul!" She claps her hands, and then notices that Ecavi and Kari have returned.

"One!" She exclaims, holding up one finger to them.

Ecavi grins and goes over to the couch to sit next to Myze, pulling the night thule over to her a bit so she can't get a good looka t what Kari's holding- though the thule did see something shiny.

"That is nice, Koko," She grins.

Myze gives a 'hmph' when she's moved away, then looks back and fourth between Kari and Koko- they were going to leave, then?
PostPosted: Sat Dec 24, 2005 2:14 pm

"Yep! She's such a curious kid, too," Koko commented before pushing herself up from her kneeling position. As she dusted off her hands, she said, "I have to go now, Ceri, because of Ri. I'll be back with your special something later, alright?" Ignoring Kari's usual correction.

Then she thought.

"Something for Myze, too. It's only fair!"

Kari smiled.

"Thanks for letting us stay for a while, Aunt 'cavi. We'll see you later then?" The thule said, already starting to walk to the front door, Koko going right after her.

Ceri frowns, "Aw! Bad Ri!" She wiggles her finger at Kari for making Koko leave, but then settles for just waving.

Myze nods her acknowledgement of what Koko said about getting her a gift as well, she didn't have to act excited but she can still be polite!

Ecavi grins, getting to her feet to see them to the door, "Well, alright then- we'll see you guys later then, Merry Christmas and all~"

"Merry Christmas, you guys," Koko chirped, waving, then let both herself and Kari out and closed the door.

Later that day, Jasmine had returned and been scolded, and that gave Ecavi some time alone with the aduthule once again. She found them in the living room, dragging their kitty plushies behind them. Ceri was poking at the presents under the tree, while Myze was standing off and watching her. She sighs, "Alright girls! I think we should get around to getting all those gifts wrapped for all your friends, don't you think?"

"Yah!" Ceri squealed, getting to her feet. Myze just turned and nodded, she had some plans for gifts.

*

The living room was room covered with scraps of red and green wrapping paper, and red and green ribbon- not to mention bags and boxes from the various items the girls had chosen for people. Ceri was currently in the middle of taking one particular item out of it's package.

"Ceri!" Ecavi exclaimed, looking up from wrapping one gift intime to see her snap one of the things in two.

"Woopsies!" Ceri said, holding up the pieces.

"Ceri, you have to be more careful- who were those for?" Ecavi said, getting up and going over to her.

"Carlos!" Ceri whined.

"Well, you'll have to find something else for him," Ecavi sighed.

"No! These!" She exclaimed, holding up the broken pieces.

"But Cer-"

"These!" Ceri repeated with a whine.

"Fine," Ecavi said, taking the pieces and putting them into a box- only to look up at the sound of more snapping. Ceri had broken another one. She just shook her head and went back to wrapping.

*

"Alright girls," Ecavi sat surrounded in items, "What was for Lucas and Raul?"

"Luas!" Ceri squealed, pulling at a couple various things.

"No, you can't give him everything," Ecavi said with a small smile.

"UMM," Ceri thought, and then pointed to a couple things.

"Alri-"

"And Kitty!" Ceri squealed, holding up her own kitty plushie.

"No, Ceri," Ecavi said firmly.

"Bu-"

"No."

"Raul," Myze suddenly broke in, pointing to one of the items in the lineup. Both Ecavi and Ceri turned to stare at her, Ceri grinned and clapped while Ecavi looked at her suspiciously. Myze remained apathetic looking, and repeated, "For Raul."

"Alright," Ecavi said, after a pause, then picked up the stuff to wrap.

Unnoticed by Ecavi was that, while wrapping, Myze stuck something extra in the box for Raul.

*

Wrapping went fairly well, Ceri didn't break anything else- though she did refuse to not give away a couple of her own possessions, which Ecavi did give into. Though she did not relent about the cat plushies. If Ceri wanted to give away some books and letters, then she could give them away. Myze had been a better help than Ceri, picking out some gifts and preventing Ceri from tearing a couple of the other items.

And so Ecavi set all the little packages onto the coffee table in the living room, all set to be delivered for the holidays.

{ OOC Disclaimer: I would like to state that any Christmas gifts given out by Jasmine, or Myze and Ceri are not meant to offend anyone. To Ecavi, in Gaia Christmas is just a time of year Santa Claus gives out gifts to kids, with no really religious association to it. This is because not only would I not be sure what she believes about god(s), but Santa Claus obviously exsists in Gaia (He gave out all the jolly items, no?) It's treated like a festival with roots you just don't bother questioning.

So, keep in mind this is from a perspective where it's just some jolly fat man that came and gave them presents becase they're children. X-x; Any gifts and/or wishing of Merry Christmas was just meant along such lines as well, again not meaning to act ignorant of anything.

.. yes, I felt the need to include this. ^^; }

*

The previous night had been difficult, and much different from the years before. This year not only was there Ecavi and the pets, there were also three young girls who were terribly excited about the arrival of Santa Claus. The night seemed long; Jasmine and Ceri were the most excited in the whole house, while Myze enjoyed the excited atmosphere in her own way- that is by avoiding the others and just watching from her usual spot in the chair with her kitty plush.

After Ecavi had had enough excitement, she used the old excuse, how Santa wouldn't come if children weren't in bed when he came by, to get everyone to calm down and go to sleep for the whole night. And, of course, it worked.

*

Ceri was, not surprisingly, the first person up. In the little room she shared with Myze, on her little bed by the window, she spied the new sunlight and knew that it was morning right away. What woke Myze up was the delighted squeal that Ceri made.

"Mornin'!" Ceri exclaimed, scrambling from the bed and pulling her orange tabby plushie with her, "Let's go!"

Myze groaned but joined her sister, climbing off the bed (and leaving her own plushie to sleep). She sent a telepathic message to her twin, 'No, we should wake the others up.'

"Okay!" Ceri agreed readily, if that's what it took to get downstairs to rip open the presents then that is what she would do. She was out the door in a flash and marching down the hall, "'avi!" It didn't take her long to reach Ecavi's room, since it was just a couple doors away, and she had to push the door open and continue marching.

"'avi! 'ismas!" Ceri screeched. Myze followed Ceri into the room, though she stayed quiet.

"Mhhhmhm?" Ecavi mumbled groggily, pulling herself to the edge of the bed and looking at the day thule. She glanced to the window, then back at Ceri, "It's only dawn.."

"'ismas!" the thule insisted.

"Okay, okay," Ecavi said, smiling, and getting up out of bed, "You two head downstairs."

*

Ecavi gently knocked on Jasmine's door before entering the room. She'd gotten the Noodle Animals, and Briar and Elena up first since they had rooms upstairs- but the dragon has a room on the ground floor. With a smile, and a small Prairie dog Noodle Butterfly perched on her shoulder, Ecavi stepped into the room and over to the bed.

"Min," she cooed, "Miiin~"

The dragon opened her golden brown eyes tiredly, "Wha?"

"Guess what?" Ecavi asked with a grin, seeming less tired.

Min blinked, then sat upright, "Christmas!"

"Yep," the fairy nodded. Nya squealed excitedly from her shoulder and fluttered her orange wings happily. Jasmine stumbled off of her bed quickly and headed past her mother into the hallway.

"Come on, Nya," Ecavi said, shaking her head and following after the dragon.

*

Gift opening lasted quite some time. Jasmine, Myze and Ceri each managed to open one gift- but when they opened them, they took so long looking at them and playing around that Ecavi decided they should have some breakfast before continuing. The first set of gifts they opened were from Ecavi.

User ImageUser Image

Ceri tore open the wrapping paper of a gift labelled for her- she'd checked with Ecavi to make sure it really was for her before opening it. She'd done this because she remembered her conversation with Koko about how not all of them were really for her. What greeted her from behind the wrapping paper was a shiny book with a sun on the front of it. She oo'ed and aw'ed at it, flipping through it- only to find it was blank.

Myze was greeted by a similar image when she opened her gift, tearing carefully through the wrapping paper and pulling the book out gently. The book she found was darker, but equally as shiny as the one Ceri had, and it had a crescent moon marked upon it. She also flipped through it, finding the pages to be blank- unlike Ceri, she understood the meaning of this. It was a book for them to write in, when they learned to write.

"It's a journal, Ceri," Ecavi explained, noticing the puzzled look on Ceri's face, "You write in it. I'll help you learn how."

Ceri oo'ed and hugged the journal, then waved it around to watch the shininess of it. Myze spent time admiring her journal as well, though she took time to look to Ecavi and smile slightly- making sure that she saw it. This was a gift the night thule found pleasing, something to her own tastes.

Jasmine, who'd already received a journal, found in her first gift some jewellery. In a small box she found a long chain with a medium sized chunk of a golden brown stone on the end of it. The chain was shiny, and she liked that about it. The stone was pretty as well, but she didn't really understand the meaning of it. She looked to Ecavi curiously.

"It's amber," Ecavi explained, "Er- something about static or something- well, I thought it would suit you. If nothing else, it's a nice color with your scales." Ecavi beamed, then held out her hands- offering to put it on for her.

*

After having some breakfast they all returned to opening presents. Another gift for the girls from the general household was a lava lamp. Jasmine, Ceri and Myze each got one- each a different color. Jasmine got a red one, Ceri a yellow and Myze a blue.

User ImageUser ImageUser Image

None of them really understood what these were, until Ecavi plugged one of them in- Min's red one, to be exact. After quite the wait and recapturing Ceri's attention a couple of times, the thick liquid in the lamp started to form blobs that floated around in the thinner liquid. This, combined with the glow of the light causing the heat for this to happen, caught the attention of Min and Ceri- who both were happy with the gift having found out what it does. Myze, while enjoying the mysterious looking glowing, wasn't as fascinated by it.

Gifts from Santa were quite simple; each girl got a stocking full of candy and some small but beautiful dolls. All of which Jasmine, Ceri and Myze liked well enough!

Later Ecavi pulled aside Ceri and Myze, taking them into the living room with her and sitting down on the couch. With a smile on her face and some packages in her lap, she gave them each a one armed hug.

"I decided to give these to you both after everyone else was busy," she explained, glancing at the packages.

"Oooh!" Ceri squealed and reached out for one of the packages.

"No, Ceri," Ecavi cooed, stopping her, "First things first. This is for you, Myze." She picked up one of the three packages, it was long and flat, and handed it to the apathetic looking night thule.

Myze took the package and carefully opened it, and her eyes widened slightly when she withdrew its contents. Inside this gift were her own hairpins, both whole and looking as though they'd never been broken. The night thule looked up at Ecavi for an explanation, as pleased as she could possibly be. Now she could stop wearing her hair down or in a braid, which she was growing tired of- she could have her hair the way she'd always had it before!

"These are from Kari and me, sort of," Ecavi grinned, "I asked Kari to fix them for you, and she did a marvellous job."

Myze nodded slowly, holding them out for Ecavi to take and pointing to her hair, "Do?"

"In a couple of minutes, we'll brush out your hair and pin it up, ok?" Ecavi smiled, "Now, these two gifts are for you both from Kari and Koko."

"Koko!" Ceri exclaimed, making grabby-hands at the packages.

"This one is for you, Ceri," Ecavi said, handing a small package to the day thule, then handing a larger one to the night thule, "This one is for you, Myze."

"Yay!" Ceri said, tearing into the paper- revealing a brand new and quite shiny yoyo, "Oooh!" Ecavi bit back a laugh- oh, the fun Ceri would have trying to figure that out, and then even more once she did learn how to use it. It was a great idea for the day thule, and she was sure of that.

In Myze's package there was a book, quite a large book- about stars, the constellations, celestial happenings.. anything the thule could want to know about it. Ecavi grinned when she saw this gift as well- Koko (or maybe Kari was behind it) had excellent ideas for gifts! Myze would have that read in no time!

"Merry Christmas," Ecavi grinned, "I'll go get a brush for your hair, Myze."

New Year's Eve had come and Ecavi had made her New Year's resolution early, and as such, she'd decided she could start working on it early. In the evening, despite the dark and cold, she'd decided to try to give flying lessons in the backyard with the back light on. Despite her wings, it was always a strain for Ecavi to fly, mostly due to the fact she usually chose to walk.

"All right," she cleared her throat, "Min, this doesn't mean that you have to fly everywhere-"

"I knoooow," Min said, looking eager. She was standing on the back porch, as she had been instructed to.

"Fy!" Ceri squealed, climbing onto a chair that was also on the back porch and then turning around and holding her arms out. The aduthule were present for the flying lesson, though Ecavi had explained that their wings were too small to learn to fly just yet. Myze was sitting by the door with her arms crossed and watching without much interest and beside Myze was Nya the Noodle Butterfly. Needless to say, this had brought out most of the winged creatures of the household.

"Careful Ceri," Ecavi warned, then looked back at Jasmine, "Ok, um- this is hard to explain."

"Try!" Min commanded loudly.

"Jasmine, patience," Ecavi chided, and then cleared her throat, "Right now, we'll just try to get you used to the feeling- you usually haven't had your wings spread when you jump and play, so now we're going to do that. Spread your wings." Jasmine only paused to stretch her back a bit before she spread her wings full span.

"Woooo," Ceri said, seeing only Jasmine's wings, tail and the back of her head since she was standing behind her. Even Ecavi was a bit surprised by how big the wings were, despite how big Jasmine got she'd rarely seen the full span of them. Myze glanced down at her own winged arms thoughtfully, but quickly looked back up. Nya squealed and flew over to Ecavi to get a better view, and help if possible.

"Ok," Ecavi said, still standing on the ground, "Climb onto the chair, and jump off of it onto the ground- it's not that far of a jump but it should help get a feel for the air in your wings."

Jasmine looked sceptical, but pushed a chair close to the edge and then climbed awkwardly into it- it seemed a lot smaller than it used to, and much more awkward with her tail and front legs. She opted for tucking her tail off to the side and standing just on her back legs. Ecavi made note of the trouble on the chair- she really hadn't noticed, but when was the last time Min was climbing in one of those chairs?

"Jump," she instructed, somewhat anxiously. Her wings fluttered and she consciously lifted her feet from the ground for a moment- almost like trying to encourage the dragon. Min watched and got a determined look in her eye, she would not pass up her chance to be given instruction on flying!

*

The lessons went quickly, and Jasmine did jump off a chair several times before she finally got tired of the trouble to get on before jumping off. Ecavi opted next for the porch, but soon Min claimed to have a good feel for what the practices were doing. The rest of their time outside involved a lot of wing flapping (as much from Ceri as from Jasmine,) and while Jasmine did very well it was clear she wouldn't be soaring circles around the house just yet. As time past Jasmine was getting more determined and the New Year was getting closer, the latter being why they finally went inside.

"All right!" Ecavi beamed, removing her scarf and mittens and hanging them by the doorway, "Now we just have to keep ourselves entertained until midnight." She grinned, and headed for the kitchen to get some snack foods for everyone. She took the food into the living room, and then tried to get everyone settled down. The flight-capable family members were joined in the living room by the other Noodle Animals, Gred, Fallen and Eve, as well as the felines Briar and Elena.

"Everyone have a place to sit?" She asked, looking over the room. The aduthule were seated comfortably in their usual chair, the Noodle Animals seated by the table, Elena on the back of the couch with Briar on the seat of the couch below her, and Jasmine sat right in the middle of the couch.

"Everyone able to reach the snacks?"

"Noooooo," Ceri's voice piped up from her spot, and she made grabby hands at the table.

"What do you want?" Ecavi beamed.

"That!" Ceri exclaimed, pointing at.. something on the table.

"Which one?"

"Crackers," Myze replied this time, to try to speed things along.

"Very good," Ecavi smiled at Myze and gave the girls a hand full of crackers- more than enough for two people barely a foot high, "Anyone else? Gred, Fallen, Eve, Nya- all fresh noodles?"

"Yes," Eve replied quietly. Gred and Nya nodded enthusiastically, while Fallen merely nodded.

"You two all right?" Ecavi looked to Briar and Elena, who nodded.

"I'm good too," Jasmine added in, thinking she was going to be skipped.

"Ok then," Ecavi grinned and took her spot on the couch beside Min, "Let's get started then."

They spent what time was left before midnight watching a movie they'd decided on together as appropriate for all. Everyone had their fill of snacks, everyone enjoyed themselves and three had fallen asleep before the movie ended- Gred, Elena and Ceri. Ceri often had trouble staying up late, always seeming more active and alert when the sun was out. Myze, on the other hand, could stay up late and barely seem tired. Jasmine enjoyed the movie too much to fall asleep, and was glad to be allowed to stay up this late instead of having to sit in her room if she wanted to be up this late.

"Almost midnight," Ecavi warned after she turned off the movie and looked doubtfully to the three that had fallen asleep, "Should we wake them up?"

"Ceri," Myze said with a nod and looked down at her twin, who was curled against her side and covered in cracker crumbs, 'Wake up."

"Mhrmnomhm," Ceri mumbled in her sleep at her sister's telepathic call.

"Ceri!" Jasmine exclaimed, getting off the couch.

"Huh?" Ceri opened her eyes and looked around- why was everyone up again?

"New year," Myze murmured.

"HAPPE NEW YER!" Ceri exclaimed with a squeal.

"Not yet, Ceri," Ecavi grinned and looked to the clock. Two minutes.

"Yeah," Min agreed, looking at the clock, "It's like, a minute away!"

Ceri tilted her head and looked at the clock as well, "Numers?"

Myze looked to the clock as well, watching it carefully.

"Yes, that has numbers," Ecavi beamed, "You'll know how to read it soon."

"Clock," Ceri said, "Numers and new yer?"

"Yes, you watch for it to reach the twelve Ceri," Min cut in, "That's the one and two at the top!"

"Ten," Myze said suddenly.

"What?" Ecavi blinked, looking to Myze curiously, along with the others.

"Seven," Briar added, his red eyes on the clock. Ecavi and Jasmine both turned their heads to him, and then to the clock.

"Oh!" Ecavi started, "Four! Count backwards-"

"Three," Min joined in.

"Two," Now Fallen, Eve and Nya had joined in.

"One," Even Ceri knew this one.

"Happy New Year!" Ecavi exclaimed with a grin, looking back at everyone else.

"Happy New Year!" Jasmine beamed.

"HAPPE NEW YER!" Ceri squealed again.

This time Ecavi and Jasmine smiled at her, and Myze murmured to her twin, "Happy New Year."
