DNA_Guru From what I've heard Rabbit-Proof fence is not entirely accurate neutral Plus I hate movies that try to show the wrong doings done by a race and make it emotive. I hate that trite. Of course it can't be entirely accurate, it's a film. neutral But the whole theme about the Stolen Generation and what the white people did is true, it's a point of view they're trying to represent. It can't be unbiased, that's the point of a movie.

The white people of the time did what they thought was right at the time, the nation as a whole now regrets what has happened. But I don't see why we have to have emotional trite about how bad it was for the Aboriginal people shoved down our throats in the form of media.

Having to study the film in English and Australian History last year not forceful enough? u.u The film is saying how hard done by the Aboriginal people were at the time. The whites of the time didn't have it easy either, especially those of the lower classes. Sure, pity the Aborigines for their suffering. It's because of that emotive film that our judgement is blinded. They went through alot sure, but that doesn't mean we should feel sorry for them. Aboriginal people link what happened to the Stolen Generation to many of the sufferings in their lives today. They have a choice. They always find one way or another to blame the white populace. I pity them for clinging to the past.

I pity them for clinging to the past. It's hardly the fault of the composers you had to study it, though. The film isn't clinging to the past, it's showing what happened. It's opening our eyes to what had happened, and many Australians today would've been clueless not seeing it. Of course it's biased, it's conveying a message. The white people didn't have it easy either, but they were free. You disregard the theme of film, and you obviously refuse to be affected by it, and that's your choice, so let's just leave it at that. o.o;;

StreekG Wow what a deep discussion, i feel moved... moved enough to talk about another film, its called "One flew over the cuckoos nest" yeah that was a really good film, i watched it in English last year yeah, its was good... eek I also watched that in English last year! Yeah, I liked it. It's the only movie where Jack Nickolson has played a guy that I don't hate. The big indian guy was cool too xd About Rabbit Proof Fence, I thought it was a nice movie. I won't get into your debate though. You know a better movie that was on Sunday night? Willow.It's a movie about midgets and dwarves. There is a whole freakin town full of them! AND THEY HAVE A PARTY! God it's brilliant. It was written by George Lucas too. I guess he just really likes midgets. The book is good too.... and Val Kilmer is in it. I think it's his best role xd
