[Omar A. Rodriguez-Lopez] I have a burning hatred for their new sound. They seemed to stop caring about what they write and what they sound like. For instance, Daron wrote a song about running over a rabbit. People think Kill Rock N' Roll is uber deep, but it's actually not. It's just a stab at their image and what they used to be. I believe more or less that they just found a new sound that they happen to like. Dont question what they do they do it for a reason. I personally think that the new ones are amazing. They make simple things seem deep for some reason like you said about Kill rock n roll. They just do what they like and want us to like it. i dont think theyd care if you didnt. confused i hope that made sense to some one other then myself

I can't stand when people say 'You are a true System Fan if you like the old stuff much more than the newer stuff'. Personally it's about having you're own opinions on the music, not what everyone else says. Personally I do like the older stuff more, but that has nothing to do with being a 'true fan' or anything. How can you hate their new sounds??? It's all different, and that's what they want it to be, no one wants a band super repetitive either. Definantly, if you say something like that, you really haven't got a chance to listen to it all, and just realize that each song has it's own story, new or old. It's all the same people, which makes it all equally amazing. heart

JohnDolmayanWannabe well thats your opinion if you dont like them anymore then dont like them but then i must ask why you are on this guild? hmmm? I didn't say I didn't like them. I said I didn't like their new stuff. Their old stuff is awesome. I watched a documentary on metal today, and it got me thinking about bands and their menality, and also their fanbase's mentality. How all these metal bands work on their appearance and how badass they look to their fans, and their fans just lap it up. How Black Sabbath started using upside down crosses instead of their normal stuff, because the market was bigger for satanic bands back in the 80's. Now, when I hear the new System of a Down music on the radio (It's a very rare occasion that I listen to the radio) it just blends in to what's popular today. I think SoaD definitely took advantage of today's sound of rock, and just took the easy way out of writing another two albums and putting them out in the same year. I don't hate the band. I hate their new sound and how lazy they've gotten. Their self-titled, Steal This Album!, and Toxicity are by far their best sound, and these records stand out to me in their own unique way, and their recent albums to me just didn't have the same oomph as the other ones. They didn't give me chills the first time I heard them. If that doesn't make me a fan, soooooo be it.

They aren't like that though! They do stuff for themselves, not for their fans. They wanted to create a double album because they came out with too much stuff at the same time and wanted to release it all. I think it's good, and creative, not every song has to have a super deep meaning. I don't think they are getting lazy at all...just because they want to take a hiatus doesn't make them lazy if that's what you are trying to say. Their old stuff is awesome yes, and you do have you're own opinion, but please don't say they are lazy, they really aren't. I don't listen to the radio much either, but I never hear many System songs on the radio, but when I do, it's normally Toxicity. These are their radio songs I've heard: Sugar Chop Suey Aerials Toxicity BYOB Question Hypnotize (In Philly they played Kill Rock n Roll) (Also, a family member said they heard Spiders forever ago)
So 4ish songs from the new two albums, I'd say Toxicity if anything is when they were the most fan based. System doesn't have a symbol they changed because it's popular, they don't really have a symbol in general. You are a fan still yes, but I just don't think lazy is a good word to explain them.

Anyway, I know these two people who THINK they like SOAD, or, to them, System of THE Down, which I'm pretty sure isn't a band.
First person: My favorite band is no longer Good Charlotte. It's System of the Down! ME: (not convinced) Is it now? Person: Yes! My cousin gave me two songs, Toxic city and BYBO. ME: ... PERSON: And I like how they have different types of songs, fast songs and slow songs.
Er. I lost brain cells during that conversation. But even more reading what this creepy kid had to say on his 'space
"my bands are system of the down (byob) (chop swei)"
I don't recall them having a song titled "chop swei". I don't know about you....
And about the Panic! fan. She doesn't understand political music. Just dirty songs. And not even FUNNY dirty songs. Like seventh grade sex.
