Rain reached the window and she put her hands to the glass, feeling the coldness of it that was coming from the outside. At first she was stunned by what she the outside looked liked. For her whole memory of being in the building, she had never seen the outside. All she saw of the outer world was from dreams, and that was the cause of her growing disappointment.
Her amazement began to dwindle as all she saw was just destruction and gray. "It looks so... sad," she commented about it. She was hoping that the outside would look like she saw in her dreams. The only color in the view was of the trapar coming from the ship that was closing in on the building's location.

On board the Lonjinus, Xellien closed his transmission with the Foundation. "We seem to be ready. Object one is reacting to the impulse signal just as expected."
Turning to the officer behind him he smiled. "Please inform the captain that the modified long range cannons are ready to be fired."
---------------------------
From the grey bank of stormclouds TheEnd came. It's cold oily skin shimmered with dew from the clouds. The chains loosened from the heat and, as it neared, the pupils of the LFO's eyes came into view. TheEnd retracted the chains.
"What fun!" Anemone said to herself. "What fun, what fun." She pulled in close to the Mercury and kicked up her long black board striking the mercury in the face with it.
As it struck the claws of it's left hand raked across the edge of Grey's board leaving deep ridges across the front tip.
"Come on," she yelled, "Dance with me!"

As Rain stared out the window she felt a hand on her shoulder.
"That's true my dear," Came a warm voice. An old man walked up beside her and looked out the window as well. His clothes were dark and filled with the smells of the room. Smoke and age. He straighten the small glasses that perched on his nose.
"Come to see the show have you? I'd think it would be better view through the looking glasses." Turning to the desk he opened a drawer and pulled out a pair of binoculars. He then took a smaller pair from his breast pocket and handed them to her. "I do so love a show and it will be preforming to it's utmost today."

"So....As you wish-!" Gray spat venomously in response, then triggered one of Mercury's most....unique powers, a small button flashing neon green on the console. Outside, Mercury's green eyes pulsed with light like twin stars, glowing in the haze. Swiftly, the glow spread across the LFO's entire frame, a strange phosphorence sweeping out over it's armor. In a minute's time, the machine's entire silver-plated form was covered with a pale, etehral swirl of Trapar wisps and green light as it grappled with theEND. Gray smirked wickedly, staring at the Trapar level display. Exactly as he knew it would, the trapar levels spiked rapidly in a 3 meter radius around Mercury, forming a unseen bubble into which all localized trapar was drawn-even more interesting was the fact that outside that buble for a distance of 9 meters was a ring-shaped zone of almost no trapar whatsoever in the current Trapar plane, the effact weakening farther away from the epicenter. Mercury was employing it's greatest talent, the ability to "magnetize" Trapar to it's self and thus steal it from any nearby foes. And, with the strange Black LFO at point blank, Gray now had Anemone right where he wanted-at the edge of a invisable cliff; three meters space and theEND would be standing on pure air-no trapar. Grinning. Gray engaged in the simplest of moves: With it's face a mere meter from it's foe, Mercury locked eyes with theEND, a look of mockery glowing in both green optics, as if to say "ha, ha.". Grabbing it's opponent by the forearms, The silver LFO shoved, pushing them apart-Mercury moved back, with theEND was thrust a few meters away as well... Right into the "drop zone", the ring-shaped zone barefit of trapar.

Rain breathed in short and sharply. She turned to look at the old man who had frightened her. Something about him seemed familiar, but she couldn't quite place it. She watched him as he talked to her, and when he handed over the binoculars, she was hesitant to take them.
After a moment or two, she finally did take them. Turning back to the window, she lifted the small device to her eyes and looked out at the ship. It looked closer now because of the magnification of the glass.

Falling Anemone giggled and then sneered. "So, you don't want to dance." Lifting up on the board she waited for it to catch a light wave. Nothing happened. Frowning she checked her footing and glanced at a wave monitor.
"What!" she screamed. TheEnd plummeted. It's heavy body sinking at high speed.
"Oh that really pisses me off! No waves? Impossible! You did it didn't you. You don't want to dance with me and everyone is watching. I'LL MAKE YOU DANCE!"
With the flip of a finger and a well placed kick TheEnd's board split folding back into it's legs. From it's back a fin rose and it's arms spread wide.
A massive black plum erupted from the bottom of the LFO and fuel based engines kicked in. The machine flew out in a wide arch. It stabilized itself and veered back towards the Mercury.

Aboard the Lonjinus Captain Incarte gasped. The current had suddenly disappeared and the ship was loosing altitude.
"Do we have a clear shot?" he demanded his main gunner.
"It's clear sir. The black LFO is clear of the target."
"Then fire!"
On the vision screens the bridge crew watched in anticipation as the long range cannons were activated. At less than three meters everyone expected a momentous display.
What happened seemed anticlimactic. There was no burst of light. The wave signature emitted was outside of vissible range. It rained over the Mercury like the hot flow of radiation but with no outward effect.
As the ships altitude continued to drop Incarte sat fuming.
"What happened, did we miss?"
"No sir," said the gun man, "It was a direct hit. Just... no effect."
---------------------------
TheEnd rose on it's rockets. "Jet engines are so slow." Anemone thought.

With the binaculars Rain could make out several ships in the air. One seemed to glow with a bright green halo around it. The largest was a UF ship that seemed to be sinking slowly. Looking around some more she spotted a white line of smoke coming from one that was shooting straight at the green glowing one. It seemed to fire brightly colored lines at it and continue to go.
It all seemed very far away though.

Although Rain did not want to speak, her curiousity had risen too much. "What's going on out there?" she asked the old man quietly. She continued to peer through the glass, following each craft as it moved about in the sky.

On board the transport a distress signal was being broadcast.
"Novak Foundation. Repeat, Novak Foundation we are in distress. All trappar flow has disappeared we are attempted to make a landing, but without full control. Do you copy. Our hull has been breached and we are moving to land on the grounds of the Novak Foundation. Repeat..."
In the passenger compartment the hard rush of wind was making it nearly impossible to breath. Kayako stared, nearly unconscious out of the gapping hole in the ceiling. The rain was beating against the back wall and made her feel sticky with the humid wind.

Rain moved the binoculars focus from the LFOs to the transport ship. She noticed something odd with it. Although she had never really seen anything like it, she could just tell something was wrong. "What happened to that ship?" she inquired of the old man, hoping he would know.

When Rain asked what was going on the old man had simply smiled and continued to watch himself. However, when she pointed out the transport the smile seemed to evaporate.
"It seems little one, that it is in trouble." Turning to his desk he flipped open a wooden inlay and underneath was a speaker and several buttons. "Marcius, has a collection team been sent for Kayako's transport?"
After a moment a female voice responded. "Yes Master Novak. They will be on location within moments of its landing. The hull has been breached and the recorded phenomena is effecting there flight, but we don't expect any casualties.
"Good then." Turning back to the window he watched the ships some more. "It's nothing to worry about little one. They will all be fine. Soon Our Kayako will return to us. Won't that we wonderful?"

The converstation between the man who she learned was named Novak and the woman's voice just confused her more. She lowered the binoculars a little so that they were level with her chin. Kayako? she questioned. Then that conversation and the one she overheard from the Ageha Squad and that creepy girl was starting to piece together in her mind. Is that who they were talking about?

Gray laughed softly at the Black LFo sudden...departure... and then the amusing little laser show put on by the Lonjinus. "And that, ladies and gentlemen, as what happens when you rely on Trapar for everthing...eh?" Odd, there should have been a crash by now, or something... Gray glanced down, then raised an eyebrow. Impressive-The makers of that thing gave it a suprise, too-but can it last forever, I wonder...? Mercury darted upwards, easily eluding the belated theEND. "Hmf. You're no major threat, really. Not without any waves....However, You are an enemy..." Gray licked his lips, as though tasting some sweet confection. "and we all know: ENEMIES MUST BE KILLED-!!" Mercury readied it's remaining knife, aiming the sharp, ragged tip of it's board at theEND. "heh, wanna play chicken...?" Unfortunately, at this point, The "little colored lines" came into view, a payload of seeking lasers, unleased from the obsidian LFO in a crimson barrage. Gray cursed, Sending the silver archetype darting sideways...and spotting the shuttle. Agian, logic intruded upon insanity. the shuttle...or the LFO? No! KILL-! Save her-Get Kayako out of here! Gray cried out, putting his hands to the sides of his head. "No! Voices...in my head...get out, GET OUT!!!" Shuttle! Destroy-! Mercury hesitated. The lasers didn't. In an earsplitting blast, Mercury was hurled through the sky it's; board snapped in half as it fell towards the ground below, it's green aura dying out. There was a resulting rush as all the stolen trapar expanded outward, equalizing an massive green wave that lit up most of the surounding sky. ...No! In the few seconds it wave existed, Mercury's fall was slowed. Battered, cracked, chunks torn from it's armor.... the LFO reached out, flinging itself through the wave. As it's fall resumed, It's hand found purchase: The shuttle's beaten hull; the vessle tipped dangerously as the heavy weight was suddenly added to it's left side...the dim ground aproaching all the while, even as the LFO dangled from it's earler tear in the hull. With more screeching metal, The LFo somehow managed to mount the wobbling shuttle, detaching and storing it's broken board, and using the shuttle itself as it's new means of flight. Wearily, it balanced and raised it's knife. ((Ground battle, anyone?)) mrgreen
