Crow blinked, surprised, then laughed sheepishly again. "Oh, it's nothing. It's always been this way. If I remember right, my da's was a lot darker. I take more to my mum's side. My da's skin was midnight blue. Everything else I got from him is full blown, though." He smiled, showing off his very, very white teeth, gold eyes glinting brightly. "Not all circuses are like that. But in Europe, especially back in the day, things are different."

Orrin tilted his head as he listened, his eyes continuing to look him over. Crow was very different looking yet Orrin thought he looked very nice. He was unique. "I dunno who I look more like. Both my parents were pale...though mother was elven and father wasn't. Guess that makes a difference, huh? If you don't mind me asking...what sort of race are you?" He hoped the question wouldn't seem to weird or offensive in anyway.

"I'm actually perfectly human," he said in an offhanded, lazy sort of way, "Moreso, even. My father carried a mutative human gene that was passed on to me, that's all." He produced a coin from apparently nowhere, rolling it over and over his knuck;es, lazily. "That's just about as amazing, though. Elven. From what I understood, elves are a pretty rare bunch."

Orrin flushed, feeling a little embarrassed about asking such a thing. He had to tell himself not to do so again. "They are? Never thought of Elves being rare...but then again, I'm usually around them." He laughed a little, shifting from one foot to the next. "S-so, you two live here now? I guess the haunted house feel doesn't give you two the creeps?"

Crow beamed, looking around he dusty, unkept bedroom, fondly. "No, we don't mind haunted houses at all. They aren't scary, they're just misunderstood. Different. Like us." He looked up at Orrin, still smiling, lazily. "If you want, you can stay, too. I mean, Clayr doesn't mind you, so obviously, you're nice. It's hard to ool that little girl."

"Haunted?" He squeaked a little and looked around again. This is where his child-like fears crept in. "Like, there are ghosts and stuff here?" Orrin like that he was invited to stay with them, and it would be nice to get to know them both better, but he didn't know if he could deal with ghosts.

He frowned softly, running his hands along the brim of his hat, thoughtfully. "Really, I don't know. The walls ... they move." HE looked up, seeming thoughtful. "It so bizarre. We'll leave this room and come back to it an hour later and that door," he pointed to the door between the bedrom and the hall, "would lead to the kitchen. Or a bathroom."

Orrin looked over at the door then the walls. He suddenly felt uncomfortable. "Like...a changing maze or something." He moved a little towards the center of the room, just in case the walls suddenly came to life. "So that's how come Clayr was able to pull me through the wall? It was the house and not her?"

Crow looked very surprised at this, and he looked back and forth between Orrin and Clayr, who seemed to have fallen back asleep with her head resting on the windowseat cushion.
"No, that was Clayr, but I'm surprised, again. She doesn't let people see what she can do a lot. She's shy about it. Ashamed of it. But that was definitly our girl doing that. She must have been very eager to bring you here."
He'd been watching Clayr as he spoke, but looked back at Orrin.
"When I say the house changes, I mean, literally. It's not just an illusion. With all the tricks I've seen, I can't explain it. It's never where we are. Just out of sight. But we're getting a grasp on how to get around, I think."

Orrin blinked at him then looked over at Clayr as well. Though he didn't know her like Crow did, she amazing him too. How come she had taken to him so fast? Did he seem that harmless? Orrin surely hoped so. "That's...interesting. I've never heard of a house changing things on it's own." His fear started to creep away slowly as he looked around. "I'd like to take a look around...but I'd probably get lost."

"But you've heard of a girl who can walk through walls?" Crow asked teasingly. He flicked his hands back and forth, theatrically, going on talking, "Actually, Clayr is a handy little girl for exploring. If you've gotten to somewhere you know you shouldn't be, she'll just take you on to the other side of the wall. It's started to settle, I think, but still ..." He snapped the fingers of both hands, sharply, and ways suddenly holding a length of rop between his hads, which led to a small, makeshift spoll of it, which was on the floor near Crow's chair, " ... it may be handy to take this, just in case. Tie it to a door knob before you start off, to mark where you started."

Orrin laughed a little. "No, I can't say that I have. I've seen magic used before but not people walking through walls." When Crow snapped his fingers, Orrin jumped. Being in such an environment made him jumpy and he hated that. "That's a nifty trick," he said while looking at the rope. "I've heard of people using rope to get through mazes and such. Bread crumbs are a bad idea though..."

"For any number of reasons," Crow laughed, softly, setting the length back down on the spool, "I used it for a while before I got familliar with the rooms, now I don't need it so much ... are you all right? I didn't mean to startle you."

Orrin felt himself blush, also hating that. He did it too easily. "I'm just a bit nervous in this house right now, that's all. Well...I'm always jumpy anyways." He laughed a little then moved to the door and peeked out. "But I'm alright. So long as I've got the rope, I'll be fine."

He nodded gently, reclining in his chair again and stretching his legs. "I could come with you, if you like. It can be a little intimidating alone your first time."
