For a moment, he seemed to be tougue tied. What should he say...or more specificly, what COULD he say to this male? They both loved the same Feli, and were basically both going through the same pain.
"...Pippin thought I should speak with you, and I thought it was a good idea..." He finally said. Clearing his throat, he glanced away for a moment, obviously a bit uncomfortable. "Though honestly...I don't know what to say."
Then, looking away for a moment, he sighed. "I...apologize. I do love Vara, I really do. So much so that'd I do anything for her, but I fear this might be hurting her since you also love her in the same way." Despite Vara's words, he still felt it was his fault. "Like anyone in love, I don't want to give her up, but I don't want to see her so hurt and confused either. I can't help but think that, if it weren't for me, both you and Vara would have been happy..."
"But then again, I guess I can't really help how I feel about all of this..."

This was an interesting situation. Curiousity filled the mind and soul of the siren as he turned to meet Nanaki face to face finally, hearing out the mind and heart of the other feli, before alotting his time to answer. A soft chuckle escaped his muzzle though, as he thought of it. "So it appears that we've come to a very difficult stalemate then.. and please, no apology is needed, I really understand where you are coming from.." he murmured softly to the other, before he too, looked away, back at the folliage he was just staring at.
"I feel horrible, for I waited far too long to meantion it, and it was such a wrong thing to do. I care about her beyond the stars, but in truth, she did open her heart to you first.. wouldn't it be wrong for me to steal that away in the end?" was all he could think of, as his tail slowly moved on the grass and leaves, leaving it's familiar streak in its' wake.

"It wasn't wrong..." He replied softly, his gaze seemingly fixed on the ground. "If you hadn't told her...it would have probably haunted you for ages. The whole, 'what if' would have bothered you for years, if not forever."
"I...don't know. That's more of for Vara to decide..." He murmured in reply to Thelx's last question. "I guess we're both far more alike that I would have imagined..." Offering the Siren a weak smile, he sighed. After this, they probably should both go speak to Vara. It crushed him to see her so unhappy.
"I wonder how the three of us would have been like if we never met each other?" In a way, it was a scary thing to think. What would he be like? Still a sort of grouch, who didn't like the company of others?
"I...I don't really know what to say right now..." Red XIII's voice was barely audible now, as he shook his head in thought.

Thelxiope couldn't help but mull over what the other one said, but in the end, he couldn't help but start to laugh, just a little for a moment, as he looked to the other, his smile genuine, but definitally still tugged by the weight of the world. "I would be much more flamboyant, I would think. Peer Pressure." he murmured, before shaking his head.
"Good thing I never fell into that kind of hole, I suppose. Maybe we should return soon, but not quite yet.. I feel that Vara has a lot on her heart, especially moreso than us. I suppose it's safe to say, atleast she's consistant with her ideal friend qualities. With boundaries. You're not as flamboyant as me." He couldn't help but want the other male to atleast feel a little better, even though he himself was dying inside as the day went by. He was always self-sacraficial.

This earned him a chuckle from Red XIII who, grinning, shook his head. "I, however, would have probably been a complete and utter jerk, which is probably worse."
Then, after a moment, he nodded. "Yes...we should leave her to be for now, and allow her to sort things out in her mind and heart..." Then, giving a small snort, he shook his head. "But you have extremely strong, and good qualities of a friend. I myself am more..." He paused.
"Scary?" Hey, it was true, to some extent! He did, afterall, kind of freak Thelx out when they first saw each other.
It was odd. It was almost as if the two of them were pointing out their bad qualities, and the good qualities of the other Feli. They almost seemed like friends, though most would think two males in a situation like this would be deathly enemies.

Knowing that his guise worked to a small extent, his tail swished softly as his silverine gaze followed back to the other one, somewhat content that they were atleast on good terms with eachother - for he knew that he was definitally not one for war, and more for peace. He knew the casualities of the wars.. and would not fight anyone. It would be heartbreaking.
"I would peg you more for intimidating, really. You definitally have a soft side, it would be in the way of terrifying all." He mused as he stared at the other. It almost amused him that although the other did indefinitally intimidate him, he didn't feel the need to run, as it was just the way he looked, the personality behind the face wasn't all that bad.

Then, chuckling a bit, he shook his head. "This is just the way I was born, I guess. I guess now my looks kind of betray the way I act..." The first things that probably would have come to someone's mind if they looked at him, was that he fought a lot. That could have been an explanation for his bad, scarred eye.
"Heh, because of the way I look, I learned to try not judging a book by it's cover..." Then yawning, he sighed a bit.

"Come on Pippin."
Vara stood up and looked down at her companion. "Lets just go and make sure they those two don't kill each other."
Pippin snorted. "By that you mean, Red XIII kill Thelx right?" He laughed at his own joke.
Vara bopped him over the head with a balled up paw and headed the way that Nanaki had when he left. She followed down the path, until she saw the firey feli acompanied by the purple siren a little ahead. She quicked her pace and joined the to males. "Um, hi?" Wow. What an entrance. "I just want to make sure everything is going alright."
"Yea, she wants to make sure Red XIII didn't beat you to a purple pulp." Pippin laughed again, until Vara's paw met, roughly, with Pippin's head.

Just as he was about to answer the other's note about books and covers, the sound of another rused up to his ears as he turned to view who was coming closer to the mismatched pair - although deep down inside he already knew exactly who was coming.
Turning his eyes away upon her arrival, he couldn't help but listen into her reintroduction in the conversation, and also couldn't help to shoot a glare at Pippin when he caught the little quip about getting his rear handed to him. He wasn't the strongest feli, sure, but he could have defended himself! He mused to himself, unwilling to say a word quite yet.

Ears pricked, he turned slowly to see the two approaching. Quietly, he listened to what the two said, before, growling, he let his own paw meet the top of Pippin's head.
"Hey. I'm not that much of a jerk." He growled. "Besides, Thelxiope seems to be a good guy so..." He shrugged. He didn't really know what was coming out of his mouth, but he was surprised that it seemed like the two were getting along pretty well, considering the circumstances.
Then came the awkward silence. Shifting uncomfortably, he glanced from Thelx, to Vara, and then to Pippin. And repeat.

Pippin rubbed his head and smiled sheepishly at Thelx, then groaned as another paw hit his head. "Hey!" He scurried under Vara's legs, just in case a third paw happened to find it's way to the crown of his head.
Vara looked at the two males. 'They seem to be getting along well enough...' But, Thelx, she could tell, was sill not himself. She stood up, striding over to him and nuzzling his cheek. "Thelx?" She didn't have anything to say, but he was being too quiet for her. "Um...Don't listen to Pippin. I know you wouldn't get beaten to a pulp." She half lied. He wouldn't get beaten to a pulp only because Nanaki would never engage him in a fight.

Try as he could, he couldn't help but flinch ever so slightly when she came over to nuzzle him - just enough for him to notice deep inside, but none others. When he heard the encouraging words from Vara though, he felt as if there wasn't really far this conversation would go, which made him a bit sad deep inside, but never the less, giving a nudge back, he awarded her with a fragile smile.
"I have faith in my speed." was all he could conjure in his defence.

Red XIII didn't want the veer them into a more awkward position, and thus, he didn't mention anything about their dilemmas. Instead, snorting, he grinned at Pippin wickedly.
"Thelx could probably beat you in a race, no questions asked." He teased, though it was good naturedly. "Maybe we should have another race one day..."

Pippin glared and pouted in responce. "I wasn't ready...and you're so much bigger than me. It wasn't a fair race!" Hmph. He plopped his butt against the ground the grumbled. "I don't wanna race again..."
She whimpered softly at the half-hearted nuzzle she got in return as well as the weak smile that was given to her. She turned to get a good look at the firey male that was her boyfriend then took a deep breath. "Thelx, you're such a great friend and feli in general. That's why I know you'll accept Nanaki as my boyfriend riiight?" She rubbed the crown of her head under Thelx's chin. "Aand I know how smart you are, so I know you will understand that you'll always be my bestest friend. You'll always have a special place in my heart that no one can replace." Her eyes were fixed on Thelx's face and his eyes for any sign of a reaction.

He didn't like being put on show by his best friend, honestly. Raising an eye at her sudden attempt to get him to admit to something like this, he turned his face so that she wouldn't have to bore into his soul so hard with her beautiful eyes. Unwilling to show any deep emotions about the situation, he flashed a glance at Nanaki and then gave a heartened little shrug in a final responce, before muttering.
"If m'lady wishes so, then I do not have any say in the issue it appears, I shall just be the friend that she has always had. Always here for her, of course." He admitted, the song still a bit sorrowful, but what could he do when her heart was set about her future. He had already decided in his own to never let another fall into it so easily, as all seemed to backfire on him. Hindsight is 20/20. But he still loved her.. he would just have to do it silently, he supposed.
