Big eyed, Lisha looked around, "Why did she wander off like that?"

Karen tried to remain calm.
"Because... she... can...," Karen felt extremely annoyed and tired.

"Should we go and look for her?" Lisha asked, now a little worried.

"There's no point," finally calming down, Karen relaxed. "The castle is too big. We should just... wait here." Karen sat down, leaning on the wall. She yawned again.

Lisha plopped down beside her, "How long do you think we'll have to wait?"

"Knowing that poor excuse of a painting, probably a while," Karen, feeling bored, pulled out her wand and began levitating things that had been in her bag.

A few minutes passed.
"Argh! Will she freaking hurry up!?" Karen said angrly.
"Lisha, we might as well talk about something to pass the time," Karen sighed. "So... tell me about your family. Are they... muggles?"

"I was raised as one, but when I got the letter telling me I was accepted to Hogwarts, my mama finally let us know that she was a witch. Dad was really surprised, and a little mad at her for keeping it a secret..."

"I kinda knew that there was something different about my mom, and I was excited about the letter. My dad didn't really want me to go at first but... Mom convinced him." she smiled, "And so now I'm here."

Kisa_Yamino Rikkel watched the girls leave. Tears stung her eyes but she forced them back. This was her home. Her home. She had nowhere else to go. She felt that she did own the place. Her home had been invaded, she would get even with whoever stood in her way. Maybe I belong in Slytherin, she thought. Rikkel didn't feel like going back to the tower, so she walked back into the hall, and saw that it was not empty. She went over to the girl and said in the most friendly voice she could manage, "Hi, I'm Rikkel and you are?" ((sorry about not responding earlier. Internet axcess is scarce for me. sweatdrop )) Ellen Blinked, unsure of what to say. Someone was actually being friendly to her?! How weird... "Um... I'm Ellen Johnson." Her axcent was undeniably american and it seemed so alien to everyone else there, she felt really out of place. "Hi..."

Ellen nodded. "It put me in Hufflepuff." She looked down adn remembered the freaky hat. "Umm... is it... normal... here to put a talking hat on people's heads?"

Rikkel shruged "Sure. It's a yearly tradition for all first-years to be sorted into a house and they use the sorting hat to do it. There's lots of other strange things around here, but you'll get used to them after awhile. What are you doing here in Britain? Don't they have Wizarding schools in America?"
