....where are all the vowels?! lol No Welsh for me, thanks. At least with Spanish, I can generally say a word and spell it. With French, well, "ah vwa" is "au revoir" and "wee" is actually "oui", and "or derves" is "h'ors...something" ehhehehe
Only very recently has the US began to teach kids foreign languages, and really just Spanish because we have a HUGE population of (illegal) Mexicans. I don't think that's quite right. I think we should stress learning the languages of countries important to us, especially. I mean, what do business people have to deal with? What sorts of translators do they need? I love Spanish, but I see so many translators for Asian countries....

Can I buy a vowel???... I love to hear (or read) that people still care about learning a foreinge language. I think that people should know at least one language besides the mother tongue.

I can generally understand Spanish now.... I just need a decent vocabulary! More people need to learn foreign languages, but not just because it's absolutely necessary because you happen to have a non-English speaking minority in your country. Apart from that, Americans could care less about learning a language!

A question... *changing subject* why the people from United states call themself "Americans"??? or Why they call "America" to USA??? it's kind of cofusing because I'm an American because I live in America... South America, right?

The United States is a country, but South America is a continent.
Using your logic (which does make sense to an extent) you could say that somebody from Russia was Asian. sweatdrop

that's an interesting concept!
it's a good point though, a lot of the individual states are large enough to be countries in their own right, you could fit the whole of the UK into Texas ninja

That is an interesting question. I try not to do it, but it's a terrible habit because you hear it all of the time. Plus, what do you call us? "United States-an"? I really don't know.
Most people here though, probably think they ARE the only Americans, and that anyone who lives in South or North America may only go by their country names.
...The U.S. has bad taste in naming itself....

hmm.... you know, I have a pretty good idea for taking over the U.S. (shhh don't tell the government! They'll claim I'm a terrorist and lock me away! lol) Then, I could rename the country "Dragonia" after my avatar. Too bad I don't like politics enough to go through with it.

How dorky am I? I've been sitting here trying to think of ways estadosunidense could translate into English so that it would make sense and be few words. The only translation that my tired brain can conjure is something like "U.S. resident" or "citizen of the United States of America."
Hmm... Sleep sounds good to me. I'm not making much sense. Well, that or I'm rambling. ^^;

This is true, but then you could argue that you're still segregating Russia from that group, which is held within the boundaries of the continent of Asia.
