Behind Loche and Robin, there was a laugh, the sounds of footsteps approaching. "How cute~" a voice teased the two of them. A woman had walked up behind them, silent as a doormouse until only a moment ago. "I'm sorry if I interrupted you two, but I couldn't resist." Mana said, walking past the two of them. "Now, if you don't mind, I've got work to do." she said before going into a tent that was hidden off to the side, away from the path, and coming out with a fishing pole. She walked up to the worn-down dock and hopped over the broken or rotting planks before sitting down and casting off, staring off at the water almost absent-mindedly.
Loche's face was red through this, but he smiled and looked at Robin. "Since we don't have much privacy anymore... Would you like to go for a walk?"

Robin blushed, "ya lets go" she smiled and took his hand leading him away. "i wanted to explore town anyway." The walked through th streets of town, and ever so often, she pulled him a bit closer and kissed him. She loved eveything about him so far. His personality, his hair, his eyes, how he kissed.... everything seemed perfect, she just hoped it wasnt a flame that could be blown out any second. She hoped the day would never end....

"So, what can I get for you, Jill-chan?" Laureth said, beaming brightly. Jill smiled weakly. "Actually, I wanted to look around town some more; I'll come and do my shopping on my way back," she said. Laureth grinned. "Okay! I'll see you later, then!" "Yeah...okay..." Jill waved and turned to exit. "Bye-bye! Come back soon!" Laureth called, waving over her head. Jill closed the door to the shop and sighed heavily. "She means well, but she's way too cheerful sometimes..." She sighed. "Anyway...I wonder what else is in town...?" Jill wandered around town for a while longer, and, unintentionally, she came across a couple, engaged heavily in an intense liplock. Her face blushing scarlet, Jill made a conscious effort to make it past them unseen. "It must be nice to have someone you can do that with..." she thought aloud when she was a bit farther down the road. "I envy her." She sighed and looked at the sky, and for some odd reason, Sean's face appeared in her head. She shook her head briskly, her cheeks pink. "Now why'd I think of him all of a sudden?" she asked herself. "Hmm...He said he was going to the mine, right? I hope he's okay..." Jill smiled to herself. "Maybe I'll go check it out, too. After all, it won't be as scary if he's there with me. "

Time passed slowly for Loche as he walked along with Robin, smiling as they would kiss, holding Robin gently. He couldn't help but let his mind drift, thinking about the future. He imagined them living in the valley, on a nice little farm. Two young kids playing with the animal, a boy riding on a cow pretending to be a cowboy, and a girl helping an older Robin brushing a horse. He couldn't help but smile and chuckle slightly at the thought.

Meanwhile, down in the mines...
"What is that?" Sean asked himself, carrying his hammer like a weapon, staring at the red eyes that glared at him and came forward. Once it was close enough, he saw the it was just a chick. "Phew..." he breathed a sigh of relief, letting his guard down. The chick came closer, and he saw there was something 'odd' about it. It was a bit bigger than a regular chick, and it's down was a dark brown rather than the bright yellow of a normal one.
CHOMP! The thing bit him! "Ah, god!" he winced slightly, rubbing his leg. It managed to get a nice bite into him, and it bled some. But what was weirdest was that he suddenly felt tired, like all of his efforts were suddenly multiplied. He backed off from the Chick for a moment, but the little thing followed. Sean swung the hammer at it, hitting it and knocking it away. The chick scampered off. "What... was that?" he asked himself, remembering Jill's comment about evil chickens. ".. You can't be serious," he muttered to himself, walking to a rock and sitting at it, trying to rest.

Jill poked her head into the dark, dusty mine. "Helloooooooo?"
She reached into her bag, pulled out a flashlight, and scanned the room. There was no one there, but there were signs that someone had been there not long ago. In the corner, she spotted a hole in the ground, and as she approached it, she noticed there was a rope ladder attached to it. She crouched onto her hands and knees and stuck her head into the hole. "Is anyone down there?" Her voice echoed into the darkness. "Wow, there's a whole 'nother room down here," she marvelled. "I guess Sean's been busy."
Standing, she dusted off herself and then clenched her fist in determination. "All right, I guess I'll head down there!" She stuck her tiny flashlight in her mouth like one would with a rose and then slowly started to descend down the ladder. 'I wonder how far in he is,' she thought. She gulped. 'I hope he hasn't found anything....dangerous down there.'

"Huh?" Sean mumbled, hearing the faint echo of a voice down in the hole. He wasn't able to make out what was said or the person who said it. He got back up off the rock and climbed up the ladder, looking up and around for the person. "Hello?" he yelled upwards, getting up a room and looking around again. Seeing no one in this room, he climbed up again. He had forgotten to bandage the small wound, but he wasn't worried about it at the moment.

"Jeez, he's really far down in here, isn't he?" Jill muttered to herself as she descended a second ladder.
In the distance, she heard a faint voice from below. "Ah!" she gasped. "That must be Sean! Hey~!"
She hastily tried to climb down the ladder, and in her hurry, she slipped and fell some five feet to the ground, landing flat on her behind and then falling to her back.
"Owww....that hurt...." she moaned, sitting up and rubbing her back. She noticed her flashlight had fallen a short distance from her, and she slowly climbed to her feet to go retrieve it, but a sharp pain in her right ankle sent her toppling to the ground.
Coughing and spitting out the uplifted dust, Jill winced in pain. "Oh crap...I think I may have really hurt myself this time." Stretching her arm, she reached her flashlight and then turned over to sit and examine her leg.
In the corner, a pair of beady red eyes quietly observed her.

He managed to hear some of the voice this time. "Jill?" he called up, but after the sound of 'thud' and the slight rumble the cave made afterwards worried him. He rushed up the ladder, only to find the next room was empty. "s**t," he swore. She had to have been up another floor.
He climbed out of the hole he had just climbed from and looked around. "Where was the ladder?" he asked himself, looking around, running as he looked around. He tripped over a rock as he saw the ladder, falling and cutting up the palms of his hands, but quickly recovered and started running again.
Sean winced as he grabbed the ladder and climbed. "Jill!" he yelled ahead of himself, unable to climb quickly because of his injured palms.

Jill heard a voice, a noticeably closer voice. "Sean? Is that you?" she called, wincing a bit. Her ankle was throbbing horribly, and she was almost certain she had sprained it. Shining her flashlight around the room, she found the next hole downward and crawled toward it, sticking her flashlight in her mouth again and tenderly moving her injured leg so as not to further the damage. "Sean, are you down there?" she yelled down the hole, shining the light down below.
The red eyes in the corner blinked and then narrowed into a glare. Slowly, they started to approach the crouched girl, who had her back to them.

Sean squinted slightly as the light shone down at him. "Jill! You okay?" he asked as he continued climbing, biting his lip when he wasn't speaking to try and ignore the pain on his palms. He climbed closer and looked at her. "By the way... You were right about the evil chickens..." he mentioned, chuckling a bit, though it faded. He reached the top of the hole and climbed out, looking at her with a worried look on his face.

"Eh?" she asked, backing up so he could climb up. She laughed. "I was actually kidding about that, but are you serious?" She noticed his worried expression and smiled meekly. "I had clutz moment and fell off the ladder, heh heh...I should be all right." She noticed his bleeding leg and panicked. "Oh my God, are you okay?! What happened??" She began to furiously rumage through her rucksack for something she could use as a bandage.

"It's true," he said, looking at the bite on his leg. "Oh, this is fine... The little chicken thing bit me." he told her, trying to calm her down. "Now, are you sure you're alright?" He asked, looking at her still. He was more worried about her than he was about himself or his surroundings at the moment, not even seeing the familiar beedy-eyes.

"I'm fine, I promise, I just might have sprained it, that's all," she said. Finding nothing in her bag, she sighed and scratched her head. Noticing the bandana on her head, she brightened and pulled it off. "Here, this'll do the trick!" she said happily, and she reached over to tie the makeshift bandage to his leg.
The ruby eyes inched closer to the pair, moving slowly but silently across the echo-prone cave.

"Well, I'll help you out... Climbing won't be easy with a sprained ankle." Sean offered, smiling a bit. When Jill wrapped the small wound with her handkerchief, he blushed some. "Th-thanks," he said, smiling a bit and looking at her. He didn't want to worry her any more than he had to, so he didn't show her his scraped hands.
