ummm...not good...i didn't think it had backup...i'd suggest we run, but it seems like we're surrounded...*Shunketsu tried to think of a plan as he dodged raving claws*
*Shunketsu faces Motoko* ok...here's the plan...i make a wall of fire...you run for it...and I'll try to hold them back...no time for questions...on your mark, get set, GO!!
Katon: Karyuu Endan!! *Shunketsu inhales deeply and breathes out a wall of fire at the creatures* RUN!! NOW!! I'll take care of these things...
*Shunketsu starts breathing hard...* this is the first time i actually had a use for that jutsu...never been teamed up on before...*The flames create a barrier around them with only a narrow path for Motoko's escape*
curses...we'll never get through the forest at this rate...we need to finish these things off efficiently and with as little chakra use as possible...
*Shunketsu stands ready with a kunai pulled out* ok...little chakra usage...taijutsu time...

::At Shunketsu's signal, Motoko ran. *thinking: Man, I wish that there was more that I could do to help him. I can't just leave him there alone but what should I do?::
::Motoko, not using any sense at all, ran to the side, and then proceeded to climb a tree, hoping that none of the mosters would see her. Then she pulled out a couple kunai, and waited for a moment to strike::
*whispers to herself* I'm sorry Shunketsu, but I can't just leave you to face them alone. I just hope that it works, and that you didn't waste your chakra.

::from a distance Buki watched and nodded, at least the girl didn't run away. Shinobi didn't leave each other. Good, they were learning::
::the creatures screamed at the fire and pulled back, no wanting to be burnt or singed, though not all of them made it. The forest began to crackle with the fire and the creatures attempted to find a way around it::

who am I kidding...i can't hold off that many for too long with just taijutsu...I need to lure them into the middle of this fire-surrounded area...and then...i need to finish them off with my best move...hopefully there won't be any more on the outside that i can't get to...or else I'll...no...I'll survive...I have to...
*Shunketsu moved around the area, setting a few explosive scrolls here and there as traps. Shunketsu positioned himself at the far end of the fire wall away from the gap where Motoko had escaped...the fire had created a wall and this was the only way in or out of the barrier. Standing at the far end of a pretty large area, the monsters could easily invade the gap and get in*
come on you raving hairballs. come and get me...all of you...all at once...i dare you!!*Shunketsu yells at the apes*
*he pulled out a few shurikens, planning to eliminate as many as possible as they squeezed through the gap*

::Swiftly and silently, Motoko moved through the trees unoticed by the ape like creatures. She worked her way toward the entrance of the fire wall and waited, with Shunketsu, for the monsters. Even if she wasn't much help, she wouldn't let him fight alone. And no matter what, she wouldn't let him die.::
*whispers to herself again* You may have numbers, but that won't matter. You messed with the wrong people. Even if I die, you are comming with me, and that is a promise. Just hold in there Shunketsu, I promise that we will fight this enemy together.

What's taking them so long?...they must have found that gap by now...
*Shunketsu waits a bit longer, then notices that the only sounds around him were cackling flames and retreating footsteps, as any and all screeching fell silent*
huh? what's going on? they know they have the advantage in numbers...but why aren't they coming in?
*Shunketsu could still notice the presence of someone or something nearby, although hidden, so he kept his shurikens ready and shouted* ok....I know you're there...I sense that you're not one of the apes, so reveal yourself as friend or foe before i attack!!
(obviously, he was referring to Motoko, but he's still thinking she ran away sweatdrop )

*Motoko completely stunned by the departure of the ape like creatures falls out of the tree and lands right in front of Shunketsu*
*nervous laughter* Heh heh heh. Sorry, but I couldn't leave you alone to fight....Whatever they were. But that doesn't matter now because they all disappeared. Are you okay?

::Right as the creature attacks, Kurai preforms a final hand seal, yelling:
"Hikari Ni Nare!"
And, with a sudden burst, a circular area around Kurai, extending 50 feet in all directions, is engulfed in an inferno of black fire. The flames last a scant few seconds before disappearing. The jutsu leaves the area of effect charred and barren. Sweating and slightly tired from the chakra use, Kurai pulls out two kunais and examines his surroundings once again.::

::the gaint cat like creature landed on the other side, still engulfed in black flame, it hissed, as if slightly annoyed, and stood there for a moment, watching him, swiping a paw across its own face as if something was annoying it::
::it took a few steps, walking a half circle around Kurai, as if suddenly forgetting he was there. It stepped back into the brush for a moment, and coming back out, the flames finally snuffed. At its feet were three little cubs. They looked up at Kurai, curious as to what this large creature was, and playing about their mother's paws::
::the creature watched Kurai, all malace gone from it now as it laid down to tend to its litter::
::Shunketsu and Motoko could see the black burst from their position in the trees and the smell of charred earth eventually reached their noses::

*to Motoko* yea...I'm fine...maybe a bit more chakra used up than expected, but i think we can still make it through the forest if we happen to be able to avoid any more unnecessary conflicts.
*Shunketsu hears an explosion and smells the scent of burnt underbrush not too far away* That can't be good...
*Shunketsu takes out a small container and hands it to Motoko* Here...it's a medicinal salve, it should at least stop your arm from becoming infected. When you're done, let's investigate that explosion, someone might need our help.
*Shunketsu jumps a couple trees in the opposite direction* now...where did those two fly off to??? *He looks around and finds his two Fuuma Shurikens stuck in a charred tree*
(Yes, there were two. The basics of Kage Shuriken is that he throws two but one is concealed in the other's shadow. By adding fire to his Kage Shuriken No Jutsu, Shunketsu technically created two shuriken fireballs that for the moment had merged as one. Since the first ape was killed without the second shuriken doing much, Shunketsu kind of overdid it and used more destructive force than he needed sweatdrop )
*Shunketsu pulled them out, retracted them back into their claw positions, overlapped the claws over one another, and returned them to their place on his belt. He then returned to Motoko.*
ok...let's get going smile *Shunketsu starts moving from treetop to treetop towards the explosion*

*Motoko nodded* Alright, I should actually be of some use to you now that the pain has died down, and don't even think of telling me that I can't fight. Because no matter what, I am not going to let you down again, I promise.
*looks in the direction of the blast* I think that might have been the other student. If we hurry, we might be able to find them.
*and without waiting for Shunketsu to say anything, she took of through the trees*
