"Still go' some..." Billy gave him a trembling grin as he pointed toward the scraggly colorful locks that still remained on the shark-boy's head, but glanced back to Sid bleerily as he spoke, "Wha'? Oh, aye, s'fake... b'don' matter now... does it..? Tha's still... tha's still me in th'photograph there!" This little maddened moment of frustration was enough to earn another flicker and buzz and he settled right back down again.

"You need to learn to relax, man," Sid said. "Otherwise..." It was probably a bad idea to mention it might kill him when Billy had only recently asked for him to do the same. "Otherwise you'd be no fun, like, at all."
He had no idea what he was saying. Billy had been nothing but a sedated mess since he'd met him. He felt more pity, with a little inexplicable guilt, towards him than anything. The collar was likely to blame for a lot of it, but having tentacles instead of limbs, and certain other parts, had to ******** a guy up to an extent.
"I believe you, though." He started walking again. "Least you're young. If that birthday's your birthday, I mean. Hell, photos of me from 30 years ago are depressing enough as it is. Sideburns. Bell bottoms. Horrific stuff... But wife number one was hot, and she was in a lot of 'em, so it all cancels out."
The pills were working, that was certain. He hadn't rambled so much since before he changed, but once again he was beyond noticing or caring.
They had just stepped into the village proper when he said, "I wonder whatever happened to her... She just... walked out one day. Good thing, cause otherwise she woulda got a chunk of the royalties."

Alec smirked and ran a hand over his oddly-shaped skull. It made him sad that the fuzzy tufts that were the remnants of his hair felt out of place to him now.
"Aww ye still young, ol' Sid." The teen snickered jokingly, pretending to comfort the fish-faced man. "A'd've neveh guessed ye weh marreh'd though. Ye don' seem th'type? 'ow'd ye do i'..... yanno... be'n a couple?" He paused for a moment, letting his voice cut short so that his embarassment would hopefully go unnoticed by the droning noise of the squeaky chair. Unfortunately, they had just arrived at their destination and the comforting noise ceased as he brought the chair to a pause once they reached the cafeteria door.

"S'wha'... s'wha I look like..." He mumbled, head bowed as he fidgeted with his backpack and the passport again in a sad, clumsy manner. His mind seemedt o be wandering, pulled along by the lull of druggs and the motion of his chair befor he was brought to a stop. Had he been a bit more coherent, he would have said something a bit more relivant to the topic of discussion on hand. As it was, he was having trouble seeing past his own skull.

"Never said I knew what I was doing." Sid opened the door and leaned against it to allow the chair through. "I just popped the question at the right moment. With the first one we were drunk... black out drunk, wake up and wonder who the hell's in the bathroom drunk." His attempt to lick his lips was thwarted when he realized they were too far apart for that. "Second I was half dead, and the third was some psycho fan girl... "
He lost some of his rambling momentum as he got a good look at Billy on the way in. Maybe he wasn't as bad as he looked, but Sid couldn't force himself towards optimism even while drugged. He trailed after them for a few steps in silence before he remembered what he'd been talking about, and what Alec had asked.
"Couldn't say how you're supposed to make it work... The trick, I think, is to find someone as ******** up as you... Only, not more ******** up, cause then they'll liable to stab you in your sleep. And not less... cause they'd just leave." He raised and lowered his freehand languidly. "It's a very delicate balance, really."
He wasn't particularly upset by the idea that his own chances of ever duping some women were completely shot, not as long as everything was pleasantly numb. He stopped at the first table they came to.
"This'll do."

Alec pulled the wheelchair up to the area Sid had designated for them, making sure Billy was a comfortable distance from the tabletop in case he felt inclined to feed himself. He'd sure as hell try his best to put that responsibility on someone else for the time being.
Thankful they'd finally arrived after what seemed an eternity, the teenager plopped down into a chair besides the deflated octopus man with a heavy sigh. His feet were killing him and the lovely dampness the lake had provided was quickly diminishing from the skin around his face and back. He followed along patiently with Sid's story, head jerking at the last coherent thought as his expression changed to one of obvious disturbance. "Huh?"
As ******** up as me? Well, this place sure isn't lacking in that department..... would Amaya really knife me in my sleep?! She's probably really pissed at me by now... maybe I should start locking my door... He looked blatantly occupied in thought as he weighed his options, distressed for the future of his sex life, among other things.

Perhaps it was the negitive undertones of their conversation sinking into Billy in some way, but his broken mind seemed to get stuck on the reason he was sitting there helpless. "I... I killed him. I... I weren't thinkin'..." His voice wavered, bearly leaving his throat. Jab out the chip with a broken piece of glass. BRILLIANT idea. Destroy the one ally he could have really trusted... He was dead. He was sure of it. Dead or worse. And it was all his fault. "I... Feckin'... buggerit..."

"Sushi? Fish? No, wait, same thing..." Sid was to the point that he wasn't paying much attention to what Billy said, given he was more concerned with rambling to make up for lost time. From the minute the word 'killed' left Billy's pseudo-beak he looked over. He listened and waited for more of an explanation, but that was hoping for too much.
"Say what?"

Alec was about to snort out some snide comment about fish when he caught the sparse words being mumbled by the sluggish man next to him at the table. All at once his face drew blank and slowly his head turned to glance at Billy with his peripheral vision. Whhhat. Killed... who...? The teen was too afraid to ask the inevitable. Part of him hoped Billy would continue rambling in hopes he'd spill more details to shed some light, while the other really didn't want to know. You mean to say all this time... this... GUY, this feeble thing... I'm sitting next to a MURDERER?!? His back stiffened at the thought, blood running cold in his veins. Should he start running now, or...?

"Wha' was I thinkin'?" Billy shook his head, his voice high and miserable and tight in his throat, "I t'ought it'd... be li'... removin' a bullet! I though'... an' all tha' blood... I couln'... wha' was I s'posed t'do? He's... he's dead now... he's gotta' be....another one jes' cause m' bloody... bloody stupid..." The light began flickering again dangerously as he worked himself up, but he seemed sedated enough that quiet sobbing wasn't about to set off a fresh injection just yet.

Sid looked to Alec and shrugged. Getting the full details out would likely be dangerous, given Billy was already sedated to hell, so he held off. That, and it wasn't the first time he'd mentioned murder. He still had no clue why he stuck around after that, other than the octopus had been in too pathetic a state to abandon since he met him.
"It's alright," he said. "Just... don't worry about that now."

The teen was amazed Sid was taking this revelation so well. The man barely batted an eye, didn't he hear what he'd just said? He was a MURDERER! A stone-cold killer, sitting right next to him!
He doesn't really look or... sound... like a murderer though? Alec thought to himself as he tried to calm his nerves. Sid definetly didn't look concerned, maybe he shouldn't be either. Besides, Billy looked nothing like Arnold Schwarzenegger anyways.
"C'n ye... pick me up a sammich whi' ye theh?" The shark boy managed to utter the request, trying to ignore Billy's incoherent sobbing. He couldn't possibly offer comfort to this man, he was never good at that stuff even when he was cool and collected.

Billy fell silent, his head hung miserably as his babbles dropped too low to be audible. Regardless of what they could still pick up or understand from the broken man, it was clear he was greatly disturbed and bothered by something. His fins flaired and flattened as his four shoulders shuddered, tentacles worming around himself in a pathetic self-embrace.

Getting food gave Sid the excuse to distance himself from the whole tableau at least for a minute. No better ideas at hit, and in this case the pills likely weren't helping. At the moment it was impossible to think too much about about Billy's mutterings about mutter. It was hard enough concentrating on what food to get. He piled as much sushi as he could on one plate, along with a sandwich, and walked back to the table.

Alec gratefully snatched the sandwich Sid had brought over as soon as it had come within arm's reach, hungrily engulfing a large bite in a matter of seconds. It helped that he didn't have to chew much anymore, his teeth did most of the work in tearing and his iron stomach did the rest.
Giving himself another reason to be quiet as he ate, the teenager couldn't help but glance over at the whimpering man in the wheelchair as he looked as if he was about to burst into tears. I thought I was in hot water? What the hell had Billy gotten himself into? Sure sounded a lot more serious than my altercation had turned out... The young shark thought to himself and suddenly decided to reach over with a spare hand and pat the octopus's shoulder. He could probably use a hug right now, and he'd have probably given one had he been in a more calm and reassuring state of mind.
