I believe I may have missed this thread. "Ain't doing that again." wouldv'e been my answer.
I'm not a Christian and am very proud of it. I do have some beefs w/ Christianity and some people in Christianity, but no one around here are those types that i have problems with.
I used to be a Christian, w/ some pagan ways & I became a Buddhist and Christian for sometime, I went to wicca which was a step up to reconstructionism, afterwards I was a Celtic recon because Wicca was just too modern for me. the Celtic thing hasn't worked out since I have aquired my abilities, not because I saw God or something, but because what has happened to me. Altho i still <3 Morrigan. But I <3 alot of diffirent deities.
I have remained a Buddhist the entire time because I treat it as a philosphy and within Buddhism you don't have to abandon your current religion for. Right now I have been looking into the Aztec religion and might choose that path. I am still very confused about my own religion and what religion I should choose. But I'll note that I LOVE theology and read up on all religions, including Abrahamic ones.. Pagans ones are my loves, but I really like the paganism that influenced the bible from Mesopotamia and that sorta deal. I also love Mesoamerican, Egyptain, Greek/Roman, Shintoism, and Hinduism.
I would have to say that if I were to go back to Abahamic religion it would be Judaism for me.
*note: I remain critical to some of Christianity and Chrsitians (as well as Islam) but what I am critical of besides questionable things by some questionable people is usually logical and concerns of some of the way Christians have been in the past. etc But I don't "OMG I hate Christianity!!111" thing, i just have some problems w/ it. sweatdrop SO I do hope I didn't offend anyone.

Do you have to be "very proud of it"?
I hate to put it that way, but do you have to be?
That'd be kind of like me saying that being raised a Christian and converting to Buddhism was like going to Harvard and getting a job at Burger King after graduation.
It's just... not polite.

No what I mean is that I am very much content of staying away from practicing it. I proud of the fact that I am not a Christian because it does not make me happy, in fact i was misrerable.(I would like to note that i was not really originally a Christian, my mom did not become over religious until about age 7. I was taught all the Jesus stuff but we weren't reg church goers or anything before then.. ) To further it, I was both a Buddhist and Christian for sometime. And I find the fact that Buddhism has existed peacefully in eastern countries w/out trying to destroy and make ppl believe something, very comforting. In fact Buddhism doesn't really acknowledge a God per se & it has existed for centuries in regions like Japan side by side their original religion, and most people practice both.
Plus I have to ask wh would Buddhism be like a job at Burger King & Christianity like Harvard? And why would be proud of it be wrong? many Christians are proud to be what they are, so why would a diffirent religion be considered a downgrade? Not too mention that Buddhism is one of the world's major religions just like Christianity, and I'd think many Buddhist would be a bit insulted by this. Many Christians here are proud of who and what they are on this forum, why can't I be? I mean I never even mentioned my diffirent religion until now..!
I'm gonna have to say that Christianity doesn't work for everyone... Not everyone is going to be 'fullfilled' by it, that doesn't mean that its any less than another religion like Buddhism, its just as valid. Likewise, not everyone in the world is a Buddhist & not everyone is going to accept Buddhism, becuase its not for everybody. That doesn't mean the religion is any less than Christianity, and that Christianity is like a ivy league school and Buddhism like fast food... :-/

That doesn't mean the religion is any less than Christianity, and that Christianity is like a ivy league school and Buddhism like fast food... :-/ There's a difference between saying you're proud of a religion you do practice and saying that you're proud you're not a member of a religion you used to practice. Simply put: one isn't offensive, the other is just plain rude. I wasn't saying that being raised a Christian and converting to Buddhism was like going to Harvard and getting a job at Hardes, I was saying that what you said was about like me saying that to you. Actually, I originally heard that about being a Jew and then becoming a Christian. The remark isn't even original to me, it's just so damned offensive it stuck with me. I personally don't worry to much about what religion anybody in here practices. I do get a little irritated when people start putting each other down. (If you recall, the last person I banned/threatened to ban was doing that and he was a Christian--and no, this isn't a threat.) That's why I said what I did...I was trying to bring it to your attention so you might not do it again?

I mean it in the terminology that I was not content as Christian, does that mean since because it works for you and others that its wrong and inferior? Where did I say that? I've been hear a long time and I have never had any problems with the other members or their religions. Furthermore, I'm sure there are plenty of ex pagans who can say the same thing about Christianity and that they are glad they aren't pagan. But it doesn't offend me...
I think I put I'm sorry if I offended anybody in my intial post. If not it should be obvious now.
I actually have no idea about a person being banned.

I still consider myself a Christian (a follower of Christ.) even though some of my beliefs might cause others to label me as a heretic.
1. I believe there is one creator of all, the Holy Father. The God of everything be it good or evil. Isaiah 45:7 - "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things."
2. I believe there are many sons of God (angels), but only one Son who is God. Jesus Christ, The Son of God, God the Son.
3. I believe in the Holy Spirit. I believe Wisdom is the Holy Spirit. I believe the Holy Spirit is the feminine aspect of the trinity head.
4. I believe God is malevolent as well as benevolent.
5. I believe that all of mankind's fallings have been caused by trying to be God.
6. I am starting to think that God has some short comings.
Exodus 32:14 And the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.
(wait, God repenting? What?)
5And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
6And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
7And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.
More to come maybe.

I am Catholic but I'm also a Christian. That's one of my biggest beefs with the whole Christian religion. Anyway....back on topic.
1) I believe in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit along with all the angels. 2) I believe that God is the ultimate factor in deciding where we will go but as long as we live a "Christ-like" life, we will most likely go to heaven. 3) I got called a heretic by another Catholic since I don't believe in going to Confession and haven't gone in probably 5 years. If I wanted to though, it's my choice. 4) I do believe in guardian angels and believe that everyone has at least one. 4a) I think that close family members pick someone to stay close to and keep track of their family that way. I have felt a comforting presence and a wonderful memory that I hold close and believe that this presence is my great-grandmother. The other presence I've felt is my guardian angel. 5) I think family sometimes comes back to their graves if you keep the graves nice. I took a trip to a cemetary and felt so much better after I helped my mom and pappy plant flowers.
If I think of more, I'll write more.

Lobsel Vith I believe there is one creator of all, the Holy Father. The God of everything be it good or evil. Isaiah 45:7 - "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things." Nice quote. Isaiah is one of my fave prophets.
