I believe that my character, Kyle, should be the deejay for the Summer Bonfire event. After all, he's got experience, the proper equipment, and might just need the extra money. Alright, so the money part isn't exactly true but I'm volunteering to be the deejay. edit: I also have an idea that could encourage members to be more active in the roleplay. Ryuka Navali HalloweenHalloween at Tenshi is a huge event. Everyone loves to join in the fun. Costumes aren't a requirement since there are so many different people, but it's still fun to dress up as something and try to confuse your friends. But Trick-or-Treating is the favorite past time on all hallows eve. Every staff member, teacher and all the business owners in Solaquedar hand out candy. But the grand prize is if you can find the headmistress wandering about. If you come across Glissa and pester her enough, she'll give you a golden candy! Now you might be wondering what's so great about candy. Well the great thing is that you can redeem your candy for credits!
NPC Candy - 3 credits Teacher Candy - 5 credits Golden Candy - 20 credits
There is also a small get together in the Dormitory rec room. When you want to redeem your credits, post in the event thread with a link to each post where you received your candy. We will double check your posts to make sure you actually rped getting the candy and give you your credits! Instead of just NPCs, teachers, and Glissa handing out candy, how about members find random pieces of candy that could be exchanged for 1 credit each? Of course, the members aren't allowed to type that they found it. That's up to the mods and everyone who has authority. An example: Kyle ~ He's walking around the main courtyard, depressed from what he had just experienced. How could Alistair go and do that? After everything we said and did, too...random mod ~ As Kyle walks around the main courtyard, a piece of candy with an elegant wrapping is spotted next to the fountain.

What can we do to help?
For the classes..... -What about a mentor/tutoring thread? -More teachers are a must, so would you consider having a way to get people up to that level of credits faster? Such as a set of exams all in a row that can be taken only be recommended students? -Classes, if its social studies- how is it going to work with creatures from other worlds/planes? -Credit value? How much is each class worth? What is the homework worth? Etc.
Credit System: -It seems unrefined, and needs to be tuned as well as the classes. It should be specified how you can earn credits, how many, and where to post to get them. (ex. you can earn so and so amount by joining a club/sport, and so and so amount by taking certain classes. Weighting, and grade scale for norm. classes and acc or ap classes.) -Jobs should also count. -Earning them should be more worthwhile. -Promo events, this will also help raise activity levels and make the guild easier to find. (ex. October posting week, double credits in classes and sports per post/exam)
Exams: -Students should be offered different kind of exams then the ones already. (ex. basic freshmen exam to see wether they test out of something) -An exam sign up sheet?
Jobs: -List of jobs around school should be posted in the dorms or something, as well as the amount paid. -Banking sub forum. This would make it easier to keep track because each member would have their own thread and can deposit, as can mods, that way the math can be checked with little confusion. -Single form of currency. Create a currency that you think would be likely to translate well into other currencies. Include the wight of this new 'dollar' compared to other common currencies in a list. -List of who is eligible to get which jobs based on credits and classes.
Towns: -Have a sub forum for user made shops only, including rules on the owners of the shops. (What grade or credit they have to have) -Have a pet shop, have only grades so and so be able to buy pets from here. -Housing market/off site housing. -Add more depth, create districts, etc. -Hidden zones. Areas only certain people are allowed in. (ex. Magic users can visit Filos Pub and underground magic department store) -Field trips, to study a subject because they still do that. -Libraries. -Natural areas. Out of the city, the country areas perhaps, forests, creeks, places with no training reasons other then for class purposes. On the campus technically, but not a part of it.
And that's about it for suggestions and stuff for now. I hope this helps, because I want to help.

Oh wow! I really appreciate your creativity right now, its sorely needed! <3
Lets see now... Classes: Originally I had it set up so the classes would run a certain amount of time. They would have a "classroom" thread, one specific teacher per genre of class, and a certain amount of credits as per your grade in the glass. Once we enact the classes and/or job system again, we can have a study hall, where people can sign up as tutors and mentors, and they can choose to be paid in either credits or currency.
If we get enough people, we can have a designated amount of classes for all the topics. Brainstorming real quick: magic combat (magical and/or melee) science(alchemy) biology (focusing on the bestiary) etc
We can break the topic down further into more specialized classes, perhaps for more advanced students. And if you're a teacher (assuming teachers are max credits) you'll be paid a consistent amount of in rp currency.
Credit System: The current credit system is the original one I came up with about 3 years ago. It hasn't had any changes made to it as of yet, and I do believe it needs some refining. But I'm absolutely horrible at math and haven't found anyone willing to work with it.
As for the different levels of students, I would love to add more class specific limitations and rewards. Such as the pets, as you suggested, and housing, or running your own shop etc. Perhaps we could add a new catagory thats the same level as teachers, called gratuates. Once you graduate, you could take up a job with the school, create your own job or basically do what ever you like (within limitaions of course). Comments?
Exams: We have already begun a transition into different types of tests, and we have come up with new special tests for higher level students. We've also increased the amount of credits you recieve when completeing a more difficult test. I think this should go along with the retooling of the credit system, perhaps to make it more tiered. Like it takes more credits to go up another level. My only concern is I want it to be difficult to earn credits and go up ranks, but not so difficult if puts people off. you know?
Jobs: All my ideas on jobs right now are just floating in my head. There will be low key part time jobs for the students, like you said posted in the dorm area, that would take very little work but also bay only a little money. What more demanding jobs can you think of? Perhaps helping out in a shop? or with an NPC? Also I was thinking of holding battling tourney's or competitions of knowledge that would give a money and/or credit prize. what do you think?
I would be creating a new banking system to support the jobs. I would have a master bank thread, where a mod would post who earned what money. Then each member can have their own "savings account" thread or what ever to keep their own ledger on their money, but when adding money in their thread they would have to link to the post in the master bank thread in order to keep in all coherent.
I think just the one town is enough for the guild for right now. If we ever get more people who activly rp, then I can totally see adding another town with sub districts to allow for more expansions and everything. As for ethe special areas, I think we need to fix up the major bits of the guild first and get that all fleshed out before we start fine tuning the smaller details.
Again thank you so much for being so helpful!!! I've never had anyone to really discuss ideas about the guild with... THANK YOU!!!!!!!

Ok, I can't sleep so I'm going on a brainstorming session while I can:
People can do their job when they want to. But when they do, they record it in their ledger thread with a link, and a mod will check and pay accordingly
JOBS Available to Freshman and up: Consist of on campus part time jobs that don't require a lot of effort, but also pay only a little money. ~Waiter or Waitress (join Bruce's team of waitstaff to help keep the dining hall running. You take people's orders, bring them their food and keep the dining hall looking s**c and span) Pays 12$ a day ~Library Assistant (Help rosalee tend to the library. organize the books, put them away, clean etc) Pays 10$ a day. ~Bath house attendent
Available to Sophomores and up: Can be on or off campus ~work at the bird wing bar pays 25$ a day ~work at the painted peculiarity 25$ a day ~ help clean at the inn 22$ a day
Available to Juniors and up: ~Mentor/Tutor 65$ a day ~Battle Buddy 150$ a battle ~Teacher Assistant 100$ per task ~Med in Training (must have healing magic/taken a class on healing techniques) 150$ per person treated
Seniors Only: ~organize a school field trip 500$ per field trip
NEW: GRADUATES once you graduate you can basically do what ever you like(within reason) ~become a teacher ~continue to study ~buy and open a shop/business ~wander the globe adventuring ~buy a house/start a family ~Get married

Classes: It sounds like there aren't very many teachers right now, and they're having a hard time finding students. -If you increase the term length as well as make it like real universities where the students have only one or two, maybe three, days of class a week. -The teachers also could probably use some guides on how to teach, such as lesson plans, and links to sites where they can find information for their class. -They should also offer a course curriculum; what's going to be learned. If we use a first set of standard mandatory classes for students to take ex.: Freshmen Science Freshmen Spells Freshmen Combat Freshmen History -Then have an entrance exam the teachers can focus on what the class really needs to learn, and whom should be in that class. -Having the teachers set up a full term lesson plan will also help because then they know, 'today I'm teaching this, this, and this. Tomorrow we'll have a test. Then on friday we'll be discussing current news' -Then, the grading system needs to be tuned. Having a thread where the teachers post assignments will help students to check in on what they need to do for when. A secretary would help as well, and teachers could send graded work to them to be put into percentage and added to the total grade. -Formal grading scale. A formal grading scale would be like the one teachers do use. With tests and quizzes worth a certain percentage, homework, and participation worth another set of percentage; all contributing to the final grade. The teachers would have to do this on their own because each may be different, then when they send the grades to a secretary they'll be able to plug them into the grade equation. -Equation, include the percentage equations if you can find them.
Credit system: I might be able to help, I'm not to good with some numbers but I have smart friends, and teachers to help. -What do you want done with it? -How do you want it to work out? Answer questions like that and it should be relatively easy to do.
Jobs: -How would jobs work? -list of examples: • Students helping out in green house or science labs. • Taking care of animals. • Interns. • Secretaries (based on this job and what it might mean, pay them well and only graduates or teachers can take it) • Janitors. • Cooks. • Gardeners. • Archeologists, paleontologists; people whom can explore and add to museums and this wealth of knowledge. • Organizers; people whom would organize school functions and work with the secretaries to help organize grading and sports. • Bankers. • Lawyers. • Priests.
Clubs: -How would they work? -Examples; • S.F.S.T.E. (Students for saving the earth) • Rotary interact club. • Chess club. • Music club. • Science team. -Sports? • Tennis. • Soccer(foot-ball). • Bowling. • Track. • Cross country. • Volley-Ball. • Basket-ball. • Base-ball. • Hockey. • Ballroom-Dance. • Finger Skating/inline skating.
Pets: -Its a great idea, but who gets them and how? -What kind of pets? -Examples: • Cats. • Dogs. • Birds. • Fish. • Imp/Jann (Jann are the lowest level of djinn) • Other. • Create new species.
*shrug* Your welcome, but I was just asking what needed to be asked.

I looked for information on the credit system and found this so far....
freshman- 0 to 150 credits ~ Welcome to Tenshi! As a freshman, you can post only rp threads that have already been made. You may only have one main character. Sophomore- 151 to 300 credits ~As a sophomore, you may create your very own rp thread. Either a dorm, a hang out, or an off campus place. You may also create one more character. Junior- 301 to 400 credits ~As a junior you may create 2 more of you own threads. Either a dorm, a hang out, an off campus place, or a club house. You may create your own club with the approval of a crew member or teacher. You may also create one more character. Senior- 401 to 999 credits. ~As a senior you may create 4 more of your own threads. Either a dorm, a hang out, an off campus place, or a club house. You may create your own club with the approval of a crew member or teacher. You may create up to 5 secondary characters, unless given approval by a moderator to create more. You must have a valid reason besides, I want a different character. It must tie into a story line of some sort that is already going. Teacher- 1000+ ~Once you get above 1000 credits, you can either turn one of your characters into a teacher, or create a new teacher character, if you want to. You can now hold classes, in which you can give out assignments and teach lessons in the arts you know. And as a teacher, you help head up special events such as finals, festivals, parties, and holidays. You are also eligible to be turned into a mod if one is needed.
Okay.... Well this is going to need some work.... (I'll plug in information when I find it) ~Freshmen; 0 to 150 credits. Welcome to Tenshi University! Rules: - Freshmen may only post in existing threads. - May only have one character. -
~Sophomores; 151 to 300 credits. Rules: - May have up to two characters. - May create a new thread in the town or the dorms. -
~Juniors; 301 to 475 (to help eliminate the large gap between juniors and teachers). Rules: - May create two or more new threads. - May create club with approval of teacher or staff. - Can have up to three characters. -
~Seniors; 476 to 999. Rules: - Can create four or more of their own threads. - Can create club. - Up to five secondary characters. -
~Graduates; 1000+ Rules: - Up to five secondary characters. - Can create a shop or get a better job then students. - Can create five or more of their own threads. -
~Teachers; 1000+ - Can run classes. - Create exams, tests, homework. - Monitor students. - Help run school functions.
Differences: -Bullet points, these help make it easier to find information on what can be done and what shouldn't. -Credits, the junior credits have been shifted upwards to help decrease the time spent as a senior and to help differentiate the shift from the two lower grades to the higher.
Suggestions: - Add more rules if needed. - Add a second section for each, explaining the perks of reaching said grade.
The rest will be in another post.

I don't know if any of this would help... Credit hand out system: 40-50 credits for an A 30-39 credits for a B 20-29 credits for a C 10-19 credits for a D and 0-9 credits for an F. Bonus': 5+ for participation in class. 5+ for participation out of class in sports/clubs. 5+ for community service. 1+ for participation in holidays and such. 1+ given by teachers for no apparent reason.
Credit system for tests: A: 85-90% B: 75-84% C: 65-74% D: 45-64% F: under 44%
EXAMPLE GRADE CHARTS: Tests: 60% Quizzes: 20% Homework: 15% Participation: 5%
A= 90%-100% B= 78%-89% C= 65%-77% D= 51%-64% F= 50% or lower
EXAMPLE GRADES: Test A- 50% F 10/20 Test B- 90% A- 18/20 Quiz- 89% B+ 17/20 HW A- 90% A 4/5 HW B- 20% F 1/5 HW C- 70% C 3/5 HW D- 40% F 2/5 Participation- B +4
Then I think you add the test scores together and divide by the number of them to get the overall test score. Same with quizzes and homework. Add all the numbers together add participation points (four in this case) then you average the numbers. Those are all approximations, I'm not sure, and the grade scales are for unweighted classes. Weighted classes have a different scale that I can look up if needed, as well, weighted classes are more difficult then others (Accelerated classes/AP Courses)

*whistles* Wow. CG you are really diving in deep and helping out. Awesome. Every guild needs more like you.
So I tried to post a second ago, but the size of the post and the lack of speed with which I typed it, led Gaia to log me out automatically. Therefore I lost everything I'd typed. Woe is me. Next time I'm on and the sting of my foolishness has passed I shall try again to make my class-room ideas known.

Typing issues? *eye brow rises slightly* You know you could always start a post by writing it in Pages or Microsoft doc. That way it can't log you out and you can just copy and paste when your ready. Or you can start a post short then, go back and edit it and add length. You could also try that using journals on here; then other people in the guild won't see it, until you post it. I'd love to hear your opinions on this. *smile*
Question time... (everyone should try to respond) -How does the school run? What's your (everyone reading this') opinion on a scale of one to ten? Ten being, it runs great everyone gets along. One being, its terrible and needs to be improved. Please no ones unless you can back up the answer! -When do you think the classes should be held? -Do you feel like the students and staff really know each other? How so? -What can we do to improve student relations in relativity to each other? -Should students (and teachers) be encouraged to add more depth to their profiles?
Suggestions... -School newspaper created by students, anyone should be able to join. -Improved profile skeletons. -Orientation for freshmen. -Invitation times, beginning of fall and summer. Allowing students to ask role players they know to join, and earn credits from said event. -Quizzes to help students (in character) find others they might become friends with or at least be able to ask for help in classes and such. -More 'Realistic' classes. (ex. having a set-up for chairs, teaching lessons in a different, yet unique, way where its beneficial for students to participate in a discussion that would be class. Not just a role-play in class room setting.)

Gosh.... Classes.... what else can we do here.... (sorry if all the reading is hurting your eyes, or if I'm being unclear) Classes; -List of Majors, this can help students find what they want to do. Especially if it includes a description of each. -Possible categories and subs. • Magic. -Combat magic, life magic, spell weaving, 'petty' magic, dark magic, elemental magic, history of magic, spell history, spells throughout dimensions and worlds. • Combat. -Magical, melee, and arial. • Chemical and Nano-research. -Alchemy, chemical studies/science, nano studies/science, research, forensics. • Biology. -Creature care, exploration, anatomy, anatomical sketching, cooking, identification class(for mushrooms and footprints and stuff), journalism. • Etc. -The class you sit in and stare at the clouds..... *peaceful stillness* Anything can be in this category, if its a new major not listed-then make a new one by combining others like it with your own degree. Include what it is and all that jazz. Could include things unlisted, such as history majors and classes recommended to take for it. Or things such as Explosives and Pyrotechnics 101....
