As for the second line of my last post (sorry about that sweatdrop ) I wrote:

Well, usually ねぇ is used when getting someone's attention（ねぇ、それとってくれない？"Hey, wil you get that for me?") or just when stretching the ね sound (it's just a linguistic thing, like how we say "'sup" instead of "what's up;" you don't have to worry about it) ... I can't think of a situation right now that you'd use ねえ... I'll get back to you on that one.
As for ね, that can be used when seeking and/or giving confirmation. 「それ、きれいだね」「そうだね」"That's pretty, isn't it?" "It is" (It's in cases like this that one might say ねぇat the end instead of ね, but again, it's not so important.)
