"Dammit Hitomi listen to me!" Shinku exclaimed angrilly. "I don't want you to get hurt! Some of these people are stronger than me... If they got to you... I'd never forgive myself!" He shouted. "I don't want you hurt! I don't want you dead!" He yelled. "And it's not because your blind! It's because I almost died tonight and I don't want the same to happen to you!" He noticed his voice was raised and lowered it. "I just don't want to lose you..." He muttered quietly.

"I don't want you dead either, Shinku!" She half shouted, but her voice died down as her emotional status seemed to crumble. She only looked away, hiding her face with her ashen hands. she felt heat behind her eyes, and it stung as she held the tears behind. "So... if you died..." she started shakily, not looking at Shinku once, "...if you died... I would never be... I would never be... happy. If you died, I might die anyhow... because I can't imagine... my heart to be any more barren than it is now."
Hitomi stood back up, half tempted to leave. "But if I did that... if I died alone... it would be for the wrong reason." she whispered. She clenched her fists, saying angrily, "You aren't changing my mind. I'm not a child, and you can't tell me what I can and cannot do... because you aren't my brother, Shinku. Because you aren't the Red Hand."
"Give me a chance."

Shinku gulped in silence after hearing about her brother. "That's just it though... He's after me now..." He said quietly. "I can't give you a chance... I've done horrible things to people just to stay alive... I don't want you to see what I really do when I have to get information... And I don't want you to see me when I fight your brother... Because one of us will die..." Shinku told her quietly.

"I don't care... if my brother dies." Hitomi muttered.coldly. Never, has she ever said anything that heartless before, but she truly hated her brother-- for everything he did. "But... why don't you just... give up the assassination business... It would be better. Of course, I can't change what you are... but what you do--" Hitomi stopped, grabbing her chest quickly as shefelt a sudden jolt of pain.
What was this sudden pain? It made her angrier and angrier. She looked to Shinku, Emiko having already fused back into her, and she saw a quick image of her brother. They looked so.. similar, that Hitomi was afraid. What was going on? "Shinku... come with me for a moment. We're taking a minor field trip." She gasped, grabbing his hand quickly as she seemed to suck away his inner soul. "Sorry you have to see this, Shinku." She whispered mournfully.
----Back to the Heart-----
Hitomi returned to the empty halls once more, looking right in the mirrored walls. Yet, instead of her reflection, it was her brother's. Hitomi was aflame with rage as she stared stiffle at the reflection of her brother. Raising her leg quickly, she kicked the reflection of her brother. The kick was, indeed, very powerful, for she had shattered the mirror. The reflective glass sprawled about on the floor, turning a dull, black color. Behing the mirrors, however, was something that was far beyond Hitomi's imaginaton. Red, swirling infinity seemed to be the only wat to decribe the hidden walls.
Hitomi felt her eyes grow wider as an immense pain coursed through her body. Her head sunck, her white hair slowly falling with her movement. She just turned away from the entrance of her own heart, and walked forward. "This place is... pitiful."

"I gave up the assassination business! I'm being hunted now! I was fired by my last employer for inefficiency and now he doesn't want any information about his true identity leaking out..." Shinku said quietly, before feeling his hand taken and the feeling of his soul being sucked away.
He watched the whole scene with awe as Hitomi showed her hatred of the red hand and looked at her. "Hitomi... I'm sorry..." Was all he could manage to utter.

Htiomi only continued walking lifelessly, shaking her head. "No... don't be sorry. You didn't do this... It was--" Hitomi stopped, not daring to utter his name. It was her brother who did this. It was her brother that made her mother ill. It was her brother who screwed up Hitomi's inner self; her heart. She could... feel his presence in her own heart... that was why the walls were red.
"Shinku... he's here. My brother is in this very place. I can feel it." She muttered. "Shinku... this place is supposed to be..."

Shinku had no idea what Hitomi was talking about. "What do you mean he's here? I don't even know where we are!" He exclaimed. Then Shinku felt it, a gun was jammed into his back once more. Aimed directly at his heart. "Shinku... Old friend... I had no idea you would be going after my little sister for a girlfriend... Or lover for that matter..." The cold voice of Ryuu greeted his ears.

Hitomi froze where she stood, her brother standing behind Shinku. But of all places... why here? "You are not my brother!" she suddenly screamed at Ryuu. "Why are you here? Just leave Shinku and I alone! I HATE YOU!!!" She felt her body stiffen, but she ran over to Shinku, hugging him tightly, looking at her brother, dead in the eyes.
"You don't belong... in my heart. In blood, we are related, but I could never, ever consider you for my brother. Not after what you did to mom... and to me... you deserve to burn in hell, Ryuu!" she cried angrily, letting go of Shinku, and quickly pushing him away, so she would stand in front of her brother.
Biting her lip, with her teeth digging in, she thought about how he hated having blood on his face, just as much as he hated it on his hands. She felt the taste of her blood on her tongue, feeling she might be sick. The desire to make her brother angry was... so strong. Smearing the crimson liquid onto her palm, She just slapped her brother, a large, red stain seeming to appear on his face. "Out of my heart, Ryuu..."

Shinku watched in horror as Ryuu lifted a gun, his face twisted and contorted in rage, and pulled the trigger. Shinku lept quickly and intercepted the bullet with his left shoulder, feeling pain sear into his left arm. It was one of his damned blazing rounds as he called it. His arm felt as though it was on fire as he lifted his black revolver, Damnation, with his right hand and fired all six shots, one for the head, one for the chest, and one to each limb.

Hitomi only gasped, and when she turned her head, her long hair whirled with her, though the bullet zipped through, and before Hitomi could do anything, her hair was shoulder length. Of course, it wasn't cut cleanly, but she quickly shook her head, running back to Shinku. If she was right, her brother would not be hit by all six bullets. He would dodge the most damaging ones, like to the head and heart.
"Why did you do something so stupid, Shinku! Don't ever do it again!" Hitomi shouted, placing her hand over the wound on his arm, quickly working on healing it. "I know I didn't tell you before, but we are... in my heart. I'm ashamed on... how empty it is..." She muttered to Shinku, using only a little of her ice powers to cool the burning in his arm. "But... I want to settle this with my brother, Shinku-san... It's something I need to do, no matter what you must do to live, I need to do what I need to do."
Hitomi faced her brother once more, her icey blue eyes staring straight into her brother's red ones. Reaching into her pocket, she pulled out an ivory bracelet that she had recieved from her mother, just before her death, and her held it in front of her brother. "Now..." she muttered, "...now is the time I change... I will not be a weak little girl any more. I will change!" She barked, slipping the bracelet on carefully, but quickly.
Her clothes, in almost an instant, changed into something other than what she was wearing. She was no longer wearing her average dress, but rather a tank-top and shorts, with an open skirt flowing slightly past her knees. Her typical sandals changed quickly to black lace-up boots, and her staff no longer seemed to exist. In fact, it was gone. She didn't look like Hitomi, yet she did. The face, the head in general, was almost the only way to tell besides her rather petite figure.
"Ryuu... explain why you're here... older brother..."

Ryuu looked at Hitomi as a smirk appeared on his face. "Why else... I have to kill Shinku..." He told her. "And I have no qualms about killing my own family for this contract... So if you don't want to die..." He was cut off as he heard his cell phone ringing. He aimed at Hitmoi, but didn't fire. He reached in his pocket with his free hand and took out his cell, opened it and listened. "So... Kleptos is dead? Most unfortunate..." He said quietly. He listened further and found out that he no longer was required to kill Shinku. "So... The contracts off... Alright..." He clicked the phone shut and slipped it back into his pocket. "You two are lucky... Go and get married or whatever the hell it is lovers do... I have money to make..." He said simply, leaving Hitomi's heart.
Shinku watched in awe as the whole event took place and then looked at Hitomi. "I guess... We don't have to worry about anything like that anymore for a while..." Was all he could think to say.

Hitomi sighed, running her fingers through her shortened hair. Someday, she would find a way to kill her demon of a brother, but for now, she and Shinku were safe and sound. But... who was Kleptos? From what Hitomi could guess, he seems to be Ryuu's employer, as well as Shinku's old employer.
She watched in silence as the redness behind the walls faded, and the glass slowly flew back up onto the wall. Once again, her heart was empty, but at least it was not filled with the rage that she had shown towards her brother. Even though the aura seemed very sad in the area, Hitomi managed a smile, and she turned towards Shinku. "Well..." she started, half giggling, "How do I look?" Of course, it was really more of a joke then a general question.
She gave Shinku a big hug, a sigh escaping her mouth. She was so relieved... she could be with the one she loved for a while. "I'm so glad... so, so glad that we get to be together again." After giving him a soft kiss, she smiled and asked, "Well, where should we go now? I mean, we have plenty of time on our hands..."
She began to think about the flower field yet again, and she closed her eyes, imagining thw wide variety of blue flowers, all blending together to form a sea, yet it wasn't there. "Remember the field I told you about? With the flowers?" She asked silently, watching the walls change slowly into what she seemed to be thinking. It was indeed, the same exact field. "Someday, I'll take you to see the real thing... when I find a cure. I can only see in here, however. Of course, Emiko helps me in the real world..." She smiled gently, "I can't stay here forever."

"Yeah... We should leave... But first... Despite the events that have happened here, I can find no better place to ask you..." Shinku said quietly, pausing and taking her right hand in his left, two dark tendrils wisping out of his palm and twisting their way together, right around her ring finger. They soon formed a black gold ring around her finger, something that looked like a small bud rested on top of the ring, and Shinku looked Hitomi dead in the eyes, his face serious, then his lips formed a few simple, but powerful words. "I want you to marry me..." He said simply.

Hitomi watched as her hand was quickly taken into his, looking in his eyes quickly though. She felt butterflies in her stomache when she heard Shinku's proposal, and she covered her mouth eith her pale hand, a rather rosy blush appearing on her cheeks. He wanted her to marry him! She was so tooken back, and so nervous! She didn't know how to answer his question.
It all seemed so fast, yet Hitomi could count the seconds that went by. She slowly pulled her hand away from Shinku's and covered her rather red face. "O-oh.. Sh-Shinku..." she nervously stuttered. Why couldn't she answer a yes or no question? What was so difficult about it?
"I-I don't know what to say!" she gasped, feeling a wild storm of tears in her eyes as they quickly poured from her eyes. She hugged Shinku tightly, her head on his shoulder as she cried uncontrolably.
"Y-Yes!" she sobbed, "I will marry you! I won't take anyone except you!"

"You... You will? Hitomi..." Shinku whispered quietly, feeling her head on his shoulder, tears accompanying it and soaking his shoulder slightly. He put his arms around her, letting her cry as much as she wanted. His heart swelled with joy as he thought of what it would be like, knowing this time, it wouldn't be a dream, it would be something real. An experience he would share with the woman he loved.
