Owle opened her mouth to say...something to Kaled, question the nature of the lhor haven, try to rationalize what had happened. Had the Rain people talked about changed people so much? But the chimeras were affected only biologically...it shouldn't have severed a spiritual connection. Could there be some sort of cloud over Azum, some sort of psychic barrier?

...could the Rain actually have changed them enough that it just wasn't possible for them to access the lhor haven anymore? Had any other changes come with the Rain? Kaled still looked quite a bit like a Siren...from what little Owle knew about what Siren's were supposed to look like...

It was a puzzle, and Owle's mind was whirling with questions about it. But then Larhien walked in, interrupting the maelstrom of thought. Owle closed her mouth, and looked up at him.

"No idea. But if it's about to burn up, Sun'd probably appreciate you saving it. He's kinda...busy, right now."

She seemed to shrink down smaller as she spoke the last three words, trying not to wonder exactly what was going on upstairs. It was true that she had given up on Vahn...didn't want him, knew Sunstrike loved him more, knew those two shared a bond deeper than what she could ever hope to achieve. Jealousy wasn't exactly a rational emotion, though, and Owle felt tiny stirrings of it in her, which she quickly fought down. I don't love him, anyway. Why do I care?
