French is a pretty language. I hope I get the chance to study it sometime in my life. Maybe college, but I'm starting to think that it won't fit with all the other stuff I want to learn. domokun

But it's so pretty......I don't know how you could get sick of sounding so pretty and pretentious all the time. I had to add pretentious in there, but you know what I mean. You could be asking where the toilet is and you'd still sound pretentious and high-class. xd
I don't know exactly... I want to keep up Mandarin, at least. And literature. But I don't really know what else! Ew, engineering. So completely out of my range of interests. I do, however, want to become a doctor. 3nodding
I passed!!!! Well, there wasn't so much of a worry about passing, but about getting through with A's. Mission complete. Haha, I'm in such a weird mood right now. rofl

I'm not that completely sick of it. Just having to be forced to be in a classroom to learn it made me kind of annoyed. I find languages are something that you need to learn when you feel motivated to do so.
Oooh, Mandarin. I took four years of it and nah, it didn't stick. I think it's mostly because everyone in my family speaks Cantonese, hence I didn't practise Mandarin (even though my dad is fluent in both -.-). I'm trying to pick it up again through one of my university friends. Literature!! I miss Shakespeare... and all those war books. Engineering = no English necessary whatsoever. We all sp3A|< the l33t speak. o.O *gasp* You no likey engineers. Me cry now. T.T
Congrats!! ;D As are not necessary for university, lol. Well, I sort of did want to get Honours this semester, but ehh, I'll try harder this semester. ;3

I'm happy today because:
1. I got new headphones since the ones I had before broke yesterday. 2. Spice Girls are in Toronto aka Spice City!!! ...but I'm not going to see them. 3. I'm going to see them in three weeks!! Seeing their second-last show (Feb 25th). Hopefully I don't have any midterms or projects due that day.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention, classes were cancelled yesterday because of the snow!
I came in for my 9 to 10 class, but right after that class, it was announced that the university (all three campuses) are closed as of 11 AM. I haven't had a snow day since Grade 9, so it was pretty sweet romping back home in the snow. Got my pants wet but whatever. Snow = fun fun times.

I mean, Spanish is potentially close, but I don't know if I'd ever call myself fluent. And Mandarin, I'm years and years away from fluency. I know what you mean, though. I'm a lot more interested in Mandarin because I'm studying it voluntarily outside of school... Wow, four years! You must still know quite a bit, though. Practice with me, please? I need lots of practice. And then I can practice my pinyin, too. Ni yao ma? Hahaha nope. Engineering is just out of my league, ji dao ma? Wo xihuan xue wenxue. Gong chungshi...zenme shou "engineering"...meiyou yisi. Ni xihuan Shakespeare? Meh, women gangcai du King Lear le. Wo bu xihuan ta. xd So I've heard. But at the same time, everyone else tells us we have to get A's or the sky will fall down upon us... domokun xd

It's because I've been whitewashed. ;D o___O;; *is tortured by Mandarin* LOL Sorry, I just get really sick of hearing it in university, since I'm surrounded by mainlanders. -__-;; Ah, wo ming bai. Dui ah, wo xi huan Shakespeare. Wo mei yao du King Lear... Wo zui xi huan Hamlet. xD;; True, true. *watches the sky fall down anyway*

It's really different from Mandarin. I wish I could speak it. Ah, duibuqi. Haha wait. That's more Mandarin torturing you. sweatdrop We don't have to practice it if you don't want to. No worries. =) We read Hamlet this year, as well. Hamlet was better than King Lear, I think... *is crushed* See, what did I tell you? Even when I get A's, they expect A++'s.

Ah, well, it kind of sucks how in my city, all the mainlanders are taking over it. I'm exaggerating a bit, but still, the number of Cantonese people = wait, what's Cantonese? o_O;; I mean, in university, I'm practically surrounded by mainlanders -.- who just don't shut up in class. And the Cantonese people I know are pretty much as whitewashed as me. It's ok. We can practice anyway. ^-^ Just curious though, what made you take it up voluntarily? (Apart from the fact that everyone speaks it nowadays in China/HK.) Hamlet pwnsss King Lear. I think. I just liked all the killing and stupidity. xD Do they even have A++'s anymore? Like 110%, not 100%. xD *sky magically goes back up, Jinsei is no longer crushed*

I know what you mean. Mandarin is really taking over. Around where I live, the majority of people were from HK, but now everybody speaks Mandarin. A lot of people speak both. But I dunno. Mandarin is just conquering the world. o_O
Keyi ma? Wo xue putonghua yinwei wo yao ji dao jongguo wenhua. Wo da kung fu...wo de kung fu laoshi men zongshi shuo putonghua. Danshi wo ye yao hui shuo putonghua... (Sorry if my pinyin is wrong in some places. It's quite likely.)
Hahaha. Well. There's killing and stupidity in King Lear, as well. In fact, that seems to be a general theme in all of Shakespeare's works.
Haha, not really. It still appears as an A even if you have 100% or above. *brushes self off* Huh, that was weird. xd

Yep. Ah, yeah, typical.. usually people from HK would go to California or Vancouver. Not really Toronto, where I live. (Well, not anymore, I guess). I'm assuming most of them speak both because China really warped up the language system in HK when HK was no longer under British rule back in '97. Went from yay!English + Cantonese to English + Mandarin then Mandarin + Cantonese or something like that. I just know they really screwed with the kids and the language-learning system. -.- So most of my uni friends from HK know both. @.@
Ke yi! *nods* Except, I find it funky how some of your pinyin words are mushed together when I usually put a space between them. LOL I dunno if the space matters though, but it's all in how you say it, haha. I think jong guo should be zhong guo, if I recall correctly. *is too lazy to look up the actual pinyin on her compy* Ooh, kong fu. Wow, ni zuo hen duo 'extracurricular activities' ma? Yin wei wo xian zai shang da xue, wo mei you shi jian zuo zhe ge activities. -__-;; (Oh man, I usually don't type in pin yin, I write out the Chinese characters on MSN... my writing's pretty bad. x3) Just another curiosity thing, can you read Chinese characters? xD;; 我喜歡寫中文字上我的電腦. (I like to write/type Chinese characters on my computer.)
Aha, so true, but stupidity is worse in King Lear, isn't it? o.o
*sky comes crashing down again.. this time on diav* x___X
