Taking Chris' advice didn't eat much more meat, just one more bite. But since he was still hungry, yanked out a rib bone, cracked it open with his teeth, and ate the delicious marrow inside.
Erik lifted his head up when Chris spoke to Katina.

Just then, a thought hit Christopher. The fact that none of them recoiled at what they did after the deed was done. They weren't that far along in their changes yet and the fact it all came so naturally without phasing them. Most people would be horrified at having done such a thing once it was all done.
He can't say this thought scared him at all. It was merely typical pondering. But there was something much different going on with them. The fact that, besides Chris, they would accept this so openly. Maybe it was all due to the fact that Chris was getting what he wanted and this was helping both his brother and his newfound friend a chance to just start over. It was all letting them receive the golden opportunity to unleash what had been locked up for so long inside them.
It was at that point he knew for sure that they would all adapt to life here very well. If everyone else found them bizarre for getting some enjoyment out of all this, so be it. The horrors were different for them then the others. What those horrors may be had yet to truly surface. But the typical worry of losing humanity was not there at all. They knew they weren't losing themselves.
'If anything, we're gaining,' Christopher brought closure to his thoughts, folding his arms over his chest in a satisfied manner.

Katina just stood there watching Chris and Erik yet she didn't move over to eat. She was still determined to get an answer," Who's Minna." She asked with a hint of demand and jealousy. Her stomach growled fiercely for food yet she still did not move. She didn't know why she cared so much but she did and she couldn't just let it go.
Then it hit her, she looked at the deer then at the other two eating away at it, what had she done? She had killed a deer, whom probably had a family some where, what had she become? Her eyes filled with fear as she touched her small fangs, she was a monster.

Christopher froze up again when Katina asked him who Minna was once more. He wasn't sure why he was so embarassed to admit it but there was definitely a present fear that was making him hesitant. But he could tell there was a tinge of jealousy in the young woman, which was probably the root of his fear.
"She..." Christopher was choking up, "...She's kind of my girlfriend..."
Christopher smiled nervously, realizing maybe he was too quick to judge about them being able to adjust to life on the island so well. Katina was letting her canine side the best of her and that was not a good thing at this moment in time. Last thing he needed was for Katina to have a terrible crash, being shocked by her behavior or worse. What if is she was to go track down Minna and challenge her for Chris.
'Oh I hope is doesn't come to that!' Christopher's mind worried.
She was going to need some training in order to learn how to balance the human and animal sides to her. This thought was only reinforced when Chris spotted the shock that was spreading over Katina's face. He was sure he could smell it too. She was experiencing a crash already which was exactly what he was dreading. He stood up and slowly approached her, trying not to appear a threat. He kept himself low to the ground and presented a calm, assuring composure.
"Katina? Just breathe... Relax a moment and breathe. Keep doing that until I make it over there to you. When I get over there, I want you to tell me what's wrong, ok?"
He prayed to God he'd be able to diffuse Katina before she experienced her own little panic attack.

The excitement quickly dying down, Erik realized that what had just done, and what he was doing, was inhuman. A sick look spreading across his face, he hesitantly swallowed the deer meat, his gag reflax going crazy, but he forced it down. He had to get it out of him, but how? He couldn't do it here, not with his brother and Katina sitting in front of him. 'Come on Erik, think! You can write a book, but you can't figure out how to get out of this?!' his mind told him. Suddenly, an idea came to him. "Hey guys, I gotta, you know, go. I'll be right back."
Running for about 5 minutes, Erik then found a secluded spot, dug a hole, and started the process of getting the meat out. As a child, Erik had mastered his of his gag reflex, so he could pretty much throw up whenever he wanted to. He used it a lot in grade school to play hooky and get out for the day, but now he was using it to hide the evidence. After burying it, he ran back to the others, hoping they wouldn't find out what he just did.

When Chris told her about Minna she felt her heart crumble, she didn't know why but it did. She just wanted to run away, so very far away and forge about him and this place. Her mind was racing, between Chris and the deer she was overflowed with emotions.
When Chris started to approach her she stepped back," S-stay away!" She looked at the dead deer," How could you, how could you kill an innocent animal!" Tears fell down her face as she stepped back more and put a hand to her mouth," How could I?" She continued to step back until her back hit a tree and she sat on the ground and began to cry.

Christopher jumped back as soon as Katina warned him not to come closer. In order to keep her calm, he kept his distance and let her have a moment to grieve. It would not be wise on his part to continue pushing forward. If he did, Christopher knew he'd lose her right away. He would have to play it slow and cautious if he was going to calm Katina down.
"I'm... I'm sorry..." Christopher was at a loss for words, trying to sound as pained by what he did as possible. It would be the only to get her to listen most likely. "W...W...We just did what came natural. I didn't mean to... to throw you into this so quickly."
Christopher inched a little closer each time, making no sudden movements, as he tried to calm the young woman. When he was only a few feet away from her, he reached out his pawwed hand slowly and tried to caress her hair. "This wasn't my intention. ...I know this is hard for you but it's something we're going to have to accept from now on. We're becoming more than what we were before. We have to adapt to it if we want to make it. Otherwise, if we keep it bottled up, it'll eventually bust out and will only make things worse... You have to trust me on that."
He attempted to rope her into a hug, hoping his words would be heard. He choked up and sniffled at the next part, getting caught up in some of the emotion himself, "I didn't mean to hurt you...!"

She swiped his hand away and glared at him tear staining her cheeks," Natural?" She pointed to the deer who had human bite marks in it," Does that look natural to you!?" The anger in her kept rising. She then stood up still glaring at him not able to say anything. All she wanted to do was slap him across the face but her body wouldn't let her move move. The only movement she did was heavy breathing and her body shaking with anger, fear, and confusion.

Erik was walking towards the others when Katina. Scared by the sudden outburst, he jumped behind a tree, hoping she wouldn't see him, because he was the one that snapped the deer's leg. 'Crap, what am I gonna do?!' he thought. Things seemed quiet, maybe she cooled off, peeking his head out from behind the tree...nope, wasn't safe.
Yes, he was nervous, and scared, but this time, he wasn't going to break down. This time, he was going to wait until it blew over.

Christopher stumbled backwards with his trembling arm shielded in front of him. He was in another situation where he knew he had messed up big time. His ears lowered once more but he just looked terrified now. The rage in Katina was scaring him. If he couldn't calm her, there would be many problems to come in the near future for not only him, but his brother and love interest.
"...Y...Ye..." Christopher was stuttering, afraid to utter the truth, "...es, it se...eems nat-ur-ur-al t-t-to me. I k-no-no-w that soun-unds s-s-ick to y-y-yo-u b-ut i-i-i-it's the tru-uth."
Sighing, Christopher was able to clear himself up again and speak more clearly. "...I've wanted this for a long time. I know that is probably crazy but... ever since I was a kid, I had a bond with wolves. I had a lot of the behaviorial traits of them... Just domesticated into a human it would seem. Hell, I use to dream about being one. Now... I get that. So yes, this is natural to me. This is why I can accept this."
He turned his head to the ground and closed his eyes. He didn't know what else to say now. There was nothing left to say. In the back, Christopher could smell Erik and a faint scent of what he would associate with being bile.
'Erik too?!' Christopher thought, his feelings really hurt now.
Just when he had felt like he wasn't alone, Chris was thrusted back into the dark once more. The tune of An Ode To My Family by The Cranberries played out in his mind at this moment. Christopher simply felt defeated. "...I guess I'm just a monster to you then..."

She completely broke down and fell to her knees crying," I dont know any more, I dont know." Suddenly she couldn't breath, she looked up and her eyes got wide, she tried to talk but nothing came out. She then put her hands on her throat. Tears flowed from her eyes as she struggled to breath, was she going to die. She had so many thing left undone, at that she passed out.

Christopher quickly stood and caught Katina in his arms before she fell to the ground. He panicked, noticing she wasn't breathing.
"S****t!" he growled out, setting the canine girl's body to the ground and tried to perform CPR. There was not much response at all. Not a good sign.
Immediately hoisting Katina onto his shoulders, Christopher turned to Erik and shouted, "Come on! We have to get her to the infirmary!!"
Christopher immediately bolted his way out of the woods and could see the infirmary was just only a few more yards away. His body was tiring but he pushed himself harder otherwise this girl could lose her life. When he reached the door, he called out for help and a stretcher was immediately brought out to them.
Katina was carted away, leaving Christopher to himself pretty much. He hardly said a word to his little brother. A couple hours past before they were updated on Katina's medical status and were told they could go ahead and have visitation rights.
Chris chose to sit by the bed, waiting for the poor girl to regain consciousness soon. He felt guilty again, as well as alone. He just prayed she would be alright, that she would wake up.

Katina awoke to her head throbbing horribly, she looked around the room and saw Chris sitting i the chair next to her," W-what happened to me?" She was not angry any more just confused, very confused. She coughed to clear her throat and she somewhat remembered being in the forest. She sat straight up," Chris what did I do?" She truly couldn't remember a thing that happened, the last thing she id remember is running into the forest with Erik and Chris.

Erik had been outside the door for nearly an hour now, letting Chris have his alone time with Katina. Letting out a sigh, he pressed his ear against the door. Hearing Katina talking, he slowly opened the door, seeing if it was safe to come in.
He spoke softly to her, "Hey there, feeling better?"

Hearing the door open, Christopher waved Erik inside. There was no sense in leaving him outside to wait in the hall. "Come on in."
Chris's heart leapt into his throat, glad to see Katina was alright. He looked at her and said with stern yet relieved tone as he hugged her tightly, "Don't you ever do that to me again!"
During the embrace though, Chris pulled away, remembering he was still covered in blood from his kill. He stared down at himself and turned nervous suddenly. "That's the result of what happened in the woods... We found a deer and killed it. You freaked out after it was over and passed out. You weren't breathing... so we brought you here."
