This is a thread where you list off and discuss the classic rock "hauls" you bring in, this forum needs one of those. xp Every time you manage to grab some albums, post about it here, for discussion, or just bragging rights. I'll start off with my haul from today. biggrin

Vinyl:

Creedence Clearwater Revival -- Green River
Derek and the Dominoes -- Layla
Iron Butterfly -- In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida
Lynyrd Skynyrd -- Street Survivors(Original cover with flames version! biggrin )

CD:

The Beatles -- Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band

I probably would have ended up with a Rolling Stones and Grateful Dead album, too, however, I had to make sacrifices when I saw that Lynyrd Skynyrd for sale...(it was $25)

I'm new so don't mind me, I am just trying to catch up here. My dad has a vast vinyl (alliteration) collection. He is up in the 300s somewhere. But he wasn't lucky enough to get Street Survivors with flames : ( Yea, I don't really go out buying vinyl because my dad, literally, has all the albums I could ever want. Unfortunately the record player has been out of commission since 2001, oh yes, I remember that infamous day ::tears a little:: Anyways, the one in the broken player is Yes Fragile.

Cool..I got it recently, the guy happened to have one copy in good condition for $25, and he actually came across ANOTHER copy of that album in flames that he was selling for $15 (the condition wasn't as good) later that month.

Really, that's crazy cool, because my dad couldn't find it anywhere when it came out in October 1977 I believe, and he only waited like a month before buying it. But yea, I can't believe they were so cheap too.?.

Man, I love Queen. I've been looking for a good album of theirs for a while, but I'm broke and the CD stores that carry Queen are pretty expensive.

You know what makes me mad? I but Appetite for Destruction for $20 or at Wal-Mart and then see it in a pawn shop for $3 a couple months or so later. Ah, well, it was worth it. I guess the lesson learned is to keep a look out in more pawn/thrift shops.

Wow? $20 at Wal-Mart? Don't tell me it was edited, too, like CDs always are at Wal-Mart...

I saw it for $11 at Wal-Mart,but I got it for my b-day biggrin

I was at Goodwill again, but no good hauls.I did get a David Bowie shirt for a dollar though biggrin biggrin
Oops, sorry, it was $20-30 at Coconuts.. I think it might have been $15 or so at Wal-Mart. And it had a sticker on it that said it had been edited, because I wasn't allowed to get the unedited.. The guy at the counter even asked me, "You know this is edited, right? Is that okay?" Luckily, someone had peeled the sticker off of another one and stuck it on mine. Because if I can tell you one CD in my collection that is definitely not edited, it's Appetite for Destruction. Same thing happened to my friend.

They were cheap due to the condition of the record and case. On the one I got, the record was near mint, however, the case had some pretty clear wear on it. ("okay" condition) The other one had both the vinyl and case in simply "okay" condition. As for them being cheap...the value of the album with case and record in near mint condition is around $50. And it's no suprise that he couldn't find it after a month. They took it off shelves three days after it came out. xp

xd xd xd That rules. Aside from paying $20 for it, it's a fairly good album, but not worth that much. xp Too bad that you can't have un-edited CDs, though...I think it's time to start replacing some stickers whenever you go to a store.
