	Rock D. Luffy Lee Everytime I heard zoro I thought of zorro. So I like Zolo better. eek How could you!? Zoro is so much better because he's funny.

	Even though I usually support the japanese names I like Zolo better. Besides, r and l are the same letter/sound in Japan.

	Zoro is the correct way to write it, buit when you say it you are supposed to sorta roll the "r" biggrin it sopunds cooler that way.. xd

	Luffy_Senchou Zoro is the correct way to write it, buit when you say it you are supposed to sorta roll the "r" biggrin it sopunds cooler that way.. xd Precisely, which is exactly how they do it in the japanese version, hence the ability for his name to switch easily between the two.

XD If his name was "Zolo", then his surname would be "Lolonoa", since the kana is the same. <_< EDIT: Interesting factoid about Zoro's name, from Oda himself... His family name, Roronoa, comes from the real-life French pirate Francois L'Ollonais. The name "Zoro" comes from the Japanese "zorome", meaning a palindrome (a sequence that is the same backwards and forwards), since his birthday is November 11 (11/11).

	Bari Sax Man I want to know why in One Piece number 1 in english its zoro and everything after that it changes to zolo, I now its zoro in japan but why did they change in translation after the first book? Originally, the American version of the manga(VIZ) spelled his name as "Roronoa Zoro", but it was changed to "Zolo" in chapter 50. His name was changed in the North American English versions due to copyright infringement.
