I wouldn't say I'm an anime otaku. I mean I havn't watched a whole lot of anime for a while. Although I am a DB and DBZ otaku. You'll have a hell of a time beating my knowlage of DBZ. (...It's sad really. xp )

But the term Closet Otaku would mean that I'm trying to keep it a secret. So I'd have to say you're wrong about that. It's no secret that I'm an otaku (although more of an internet otaku obsessed with anime) and a big nerd.

That's not pathetic in the least....... neutral Considering the true meaning and the connotations it has in Japan, being an otaku is nothing to be proud of. Yes, I said I am one but considering how much time I spend in front of the computer, it's probably true.

Being a nerd or a geek is ok, because there are some positive connatations however otaku just.. isn't.
