The memories flooded back to her memory. The pain that night, and the pain that followed, her attempted escape from that through this 'vacation' had failed. The tips of Shizuka's fingers were dangerously close to her tonfas now.

"Isn't he bad?" Faust asked, pointing at Hao.
Lyserg clenched his teeth, but did his best to answer in a calm voice. "Yes. He's the reason for most shamans' participation in the fight. He killed my parents."
"I'm so sorry," murmered Faust. Lyserg watched him with pity, wondering if Hao had anything to do with Eliza's death.

Unable to hold it back anymore, Shizuka snatched up her tonfas and attempted to enter oversoul when she finally remembered something very important: Amaya wasn't there.
A-Amaya! Please come quick!! I need you!
I thought it was my day off. Amaya's thoughts remplied to her shaman's. It was very rare for Shizuka to understand her spirit ally through telepathy. It only occurred when the two were at least a mile away, and that almost never happened.
Well, Hao didn't take a day off today.
Wait, Hao?! I'll be right there
In the meantime, her piercing glare never left the one who had stolen her voice.

Faust snapped open his briefcase, quickly piecing together Eliza's bones and oversouling. He noticed Shizuka panicking, and signaled Lyserg to do the same.
"Nice spirit," Faust commented as Morphin integrated with Lyserg's pendulum.
"Yours too," Lyserg said, eyeing the deceptively sweet-looking nurse. "Is Shizuka all right?"
"We'll make sure of it. Where's her spirit, I wonder?"

She finally entered oversoul and pointed her tonfa at Hao.

Shizuka obviously refused, her oversoul flaring slightly larger. There was no way she was going to relax and enjoy the day with him here.

Shizuka's oversoul slowly flickered away, knowing that she was safe for now. But that didn't mean that she would keep her guard down...
