Personally, I'd say that it all depends on how you look at it...

I can see how hard it is for Sasuke because of all that he'd been through, but he doesn't quite understand how sorroful and angering the life of a shinobi could be. Tons of the ninja in his village have experienced a lot of horrible, bloody pasts... but Sasuke's the only one I see that goes around in a grey atmosphere.

The thing that throws me off about him is how he thinks that power and revenge is the key to success. He's off by a mile on his morals. I think that to be able to become a strong person, you need the people around you to protect, otherwise, you won't have a will for anything but to save yourself. And though he's avenging the death of his family, which is a good reason why you'd want power, you can't achieve it by doing stupid things like closing yourself off from the people you value only because it "hurts" to get close to someone.

And not to get off-topic, but I don't support the SasuSaku. This is not because I dislike Sasuke, but it's because I think Sakura's already come on a little too strong and screwed up (fyi: the dissing Naruto because he's all alone thing.) to be able to start all over and fix it. I might have consider the couple if they haven't given each other a hard emotional slap at times... but no, sorry, but 98% chance of them just becoming friends is most likely going to override their relationship.

So, in a nutshell, Sasuke definitely has the right to be upset and get revenge, but not by hurting and shunning the ones around him. He needs to move his damn hand out of the way of his wound so his comrades can heal it.

Wow. Long rant!

Though I do agree with you. On the Sasuke part, I mean. I'd understand why he's upset, but he should rely on his friends to help him more, instead of going to Konoha's worst enemy to train you.

But he fights for his beliefs. If you don't fight for beliefs, then why are you a shinobi to begin with?

Sasuke has a human character. And my all means, Id say that when it comes to his actions, he is the most human of all. He makes mistakes, he wants to show up his brother. And he has loyalty to his family.

Though people believe that Sasuke is only doing what he does for pride, they are right. But he hasnt lost the cause. He name, his title, his clan is his pride which makes it for the Uchiha clan pride.

Sasuke being 12 when we see him is a mess. He is anti social, and doesnt much care for anything other then bettering himself through the use of not getting attached to anyone or anything. Including Konoha. Sasuke thought about staying, maybe getting revenge the right way. But after meeting up with Itachi, he saw that the power gap was just a far, if not further. Pushing him to go to Orochimaru. Sasuke didnt see any other way, and put in the same position, to be honest, Im sure many of us would have done the same thing.

Now, Sasuke is older and seems to be nothing more then a hearless, coldblooded, killer with nothing more then revenge blinding his sight; that is true to an extent. But in the most recent chapter there was proof that Sasuke has been pretending:

In the Manga Orochimaru tells Sasuke that he is never going to be able to kill Itachi if his emotions hold him back. And Sasuke tells him that he will not show mercy towards him, even if he begs. After that, Sasuke attacks Orochimaru and what does he say?

"I will not show mercy on you not even if you beg."

The same thing he said about Itachi. And how much does he hate him? Sasuke knew there was a price to pay the moment he went to Orochimaru for power. And the big consequence was that of being turned into what he hates most; Evil. Sasuke turned into Itachi no matter how many different ways you look at it.

Sasuke HATES Orochimaru. And now its his turn to kill him. I called it from the beginning, Sasuke had to wait until Orochimaru had to switch bodies, he would be unable to fully defend himself, and to be honest, he hasnt exactly had it easy over the years. Naruto, beating him to a bloody pulp. And then the Sannin battle 2 and a half years prior. He isnt in the best shape. And now Sasuke wants him dead.

So I love Sasuke no matter what. In a nutshell, he is the most complex character Ive seen. He doesnt show his emotions much and when he does they are true. Sasuke isnt a bad person, he is just making bad choices. He is entitled to mistakes and he is entitled to everything that he is doing, BUT they are not right, and he is going to pay for them down the road. You can count on that.

To be honest, Ive been meaning to put that all out, and for anyone that just read that rant, I envy you. Lol.

I was going to make a post here... but Trusty just put it much better than I would have anyways. So um... ditto.

I think what I hate most about Sasuke is if I were in his position I think I'd be exactly the same, that or a tadd bit more on the evil side. sweatdrop

Its immature of me, but I don't like Sasuke, for me he exists but I don't really care about him. I anthropomorphicized Naruto's lack of acknowledgement into Sasuke in Part one so I didn't like him in then, after he betrayed the village I disliked him for not understanding him. Technically, I have a past similar to Gaara's which doesn't help.

sasuke may not be my favorite character but i love him in the fanfics but in the anime he is a d**k (sorry) i kinda lost interesting in him when he left konoha. though if you think about it he could have gotten stronger in konoha by training extra hard like lee and naruto (love the dead lasts)
its sad when he is fighting naruto and he kinda rubs the fact that naruto never had any siblings or family. But naruto did make himself a family with his friends sasuke being the closest damn sasuke why did you become evil

I never liked Sasuke - He's such an a**.
He first looks down on Naruto, then they become bosom buddies, and then POW he almost pulls an Itachi by trying to kill him off to get stronger.
Yeah, his bro murdered his entire clan - sad, horrible, blah blah - and Naruto has always been on the outside but at least he's still optimistic.
I think Sasuke's just too self absorbed to realize real power comes out of being with his friends and going alond with the whole Naruto theme of protecting those you love. heart

Me personally, I never liked Sasuke. I always thought that people who acted like he does were obnoxious and that he should just lighten up. The Konoha thing...truthfully it didn't mean much to me. I wasn't big on pairings at that time so the whole "I love you!" thing didn't mean much. After the time skip he was just the same but when he *highlight for spoilers*killed Orochimaru I started to respect him a bit more. Although seeing what he did recently, I really don't like him at all. Sure, I can bash with the rest of the gang sure...but too much hate gets annoying. AND overzealous fans piss me off too. But overall I just don't like his attitude no matter what reason he has for it. It might just be me being biased seeing as I like Itachi but even before I knew Itachi I felt the same way.

I have a lot of mixed feelings about Sasuke. The second episode I watched was episode 16, where he almost got killed by Haku to save Naruto. That heightened my image of him, but when I started the series from the beginning, I thought he was a arrogant show-off. As I kept going, I started liking Sasuke more, probably because he starts showing more emotion. After he betrayed Konoha, it kinda went downhill, but I can see why he did that. I can't imagine what would be going on in my head if I came home from school to find my brother had murdered my parents (well, I can't imagine him murdering anyone, but that's beyond the point). His perfect, role-model brother told him he wasn't even worth killing. My heart always gives a twinge if I compare Shippuuden Sasuke to cute little 8 year old Sasuke. I can't help but imagine what would have happened if Itachi didn't exist.

Ah Sasuke.

Somtimes I dislike him to the extent where I'm
yelling at the computer screen/manga and my mom
has to yell up the stairs to tell me to shut up x3

But now that I put some thought into it everything,
he's just doing what he thinks is right; to kill
his brother after what he did. Sasuke is just human
and revenge is something
everybodys got in their systems. He hadn't really
made friends due to the fact he didn't want to, lol.
so technically speaking team 7 were his only friends
and they couldn't have steered him away from that
destructive path of revenge. but we all would want to
avenge our clans. well I know I would.

heres my opinion, I thought Sasuke was cool at the start. I don't care if he's mean to sakura - i don't like her until shippuuden - and I don't care if he wants to kill itachi (I would too.) But now I hate him, because he was mean and heartles towards naruto and nearly killed him. I read the manga vols 26 + 27 and the whole thing made me sad and hate sasuke. Although, if Sasuke ever apologises to Naruto and becomes good again, I might just consider forgiving him.

I personally think that sasuke is okay and i feel bad for him because of his past, but how did he even get the tinyest notion in his thick stubborn skull that going to Orochimaru is a good thing? That orochimaru would help him get more power? Orochimaru admitted that he is weaker than itachi, and sasuke went to him for more power? it doesn't make any sense to me. and then he's a total a** to naruto and sakura all the time. so, I dont absolutely hate him, but I would enjoy beating some sense into his head

Sasuke is my absolute favorite character of Naruto. I love his drive and his ambitions. The guy deserves some serious props honestly. He took down Deidara (who beat gaara) and overtook Orochimaru!!!! He can suppress the Kyubii's chakra with just his eyes, has fire style and lightning style jutsu...I mean how cool can the guy get. Itachi could of killed him but what he did was for a purpose and now that Sasuke has learned of everything...this guy...wants to crush the leaf village!!!! How bold can you get!! He wants the elders but he has to go through the village to get to them. If he would transfer eyes with Itachi...he would be the strongest ninja in the world, hands down....
