Spartan-108 couldn't even make it to the Armory before he heard the alert being called immediately changing course for the main portion of the base that housed all of its vehicles for defense. He felt the ground beneath him tremble as he watched Scorpion MBT's surfacing from the underground section of the base and moving outward towards the great wall that surrounded them all, both protecting and confining them, leaving them with barely anywhere to run on the surface. He found his newly altered armor worked perfectly, at least so far it had performed well, and he hoped it would continue to do so during the battle he knew was coming. Even though he tried not to think about it, he continued contemplating what would happen to the UNSC if they lost this position. They'd lack the ability to rebuild anything they lose, and they'd have no other foot-holds in any system away from Earth. The idea stuck with him as he moved into the 'Garage', as some of the Marines called it, and heading towards a row of Scorpion's, climbing into the nearest one and closing the armored hatch above him. He didn't care if it was assigned to a certain squad at this point as he started it up with little trouble. This particular model of Scorpion was armed with two Adent V SSM pods on both sides of the main turret, allowing greater potential for anti-aircraft work. He didn't bother waiting for a co-operator, believing he didn't need one while the rest would be needing every soldier they can get to grab a weapon and join the fight. The armored soldier did a brief system check before grabbing the controls and urging the large vehicle to move for him, the massive target lurching forward and moving along with the others as he willed it to.

Spartan-019 sat inside his drop pod calmly listening to the heavy metal music one of the troopers was playing. "Do we have to listen to this stuff, Leito? asked Kiora obviously bored, or as bored as an AI could get. "Got any suggestions?" he asked her. If he could see her at that moment she would have had a smile on her face, one of those devilish smiles people get when they plot someones demise. "In fact" she began, "I know the perfect song." For a moment Spartan-019 couldn't hear anything but little beeps inside the drop pod. Then after a minute a song came on at the perfect volume so he could hear the COM system. The song was Clubbed to Death by Rob Dougan, a classic in Leito's opinion. "Nice choice Kiora" he said as a green light flashed on the inside of the pod meaning 30 seconds till impact. "Brace yourself" said the AI as if it was a task even a baby could do. Leito grunted and reached his hand up to the side of the pod grasping a handle, "Easier said than done." The spartan was counting inside his head the seconds to impact and when he counted five he bent his knees to absorb some of the shock. The drop pod slammed through the foliage of some trees about 5 clicks from the base landing on the edge of a small clearing. Leito shook his head for a moment, shutting his eyes tight and then opening them to get rid of the black dots in his vision. "Kiora, feed me a map quickly of the area from one of our satelites in orbit" he asked. Spartan-019 reached up and grasped two handles, lifting his body off the bottom of the pod. A map instantaneously appeared on Leito's HUD determining that there was a road wide enough for a War'hog to drive through. He pressed a button on the helmet and the map minimized to the bottom right corner of the HUD. "Here we go" he said bring his knees to his chest and kicking open the pods hatch. A breeze rushed through the drop pod and clashed with the faded sage armor Leito wore. Immediately he stepped out of the pod grabbing his MA6B from the left hatch and walked slowly with his rifle raised, moving towards the road. The COM system suddenly came to life, "calling all survivors outside of friendly walls." The Spartan stopped near the road under the cover of brush where he couldn't be seen and clicked his COM on, "this is Spartan-019 request immediate pick-up; I'm currently 5 clicks north-east of the Base. It seems that everyone else ended up burning up on reentry, died on impact, or landed several clicks west of my position; it's best we let them get back on their own."

" Afermative Nineteen. We will be there ASAP via warthog. Ohh and by the way stay on this frenqency. Over and out." Coop clicked his micophone to the side and slid off his battle rifle.
" Aaron, hold my gun. It's time to roll, we got a spartan." Coops face had became cheerful and warmer.
" Follow me, the rest of you protect borders. We'll be back soon enough." Coop shoved his rifle into Aaron chest standing properly. He wasn't sure if Aaron was following him or not his mind was on getting to the garage.
Once inside he leaped at the passenger seat of the nearest warthog. He gripped the roll bars and swung himself to the driver seat. He buckled up and looked past all the checks and views from his visor.
" Aaron!! Passenger seat!! Your going to want to be covered by the dash for this one."
Coops foot slammed the petal ripping tires around the metal surface of the garage. He sped slow at first from the loss of traction. It was up to Aaron to get in before it tore off in a cloud of polution and smoke.

Aaron lookede at Coop's gun and then started running for the worthog. "Coop wait up!" Aaron yelled as he got to the passenger side of the worthog. He then jumped in and put Coop's gun in between his legs so he could buckle up. " Why the hell did you give me your gun?" Aaron asked as he was still short of breath.

"Because I cant drive and kill everything at the same time."
The spining tires ruthlessly caught grooves in the metal blazing out of the garage doors. Coop slammed into a turn drifting around a tank slowly making it's way into the battle. The warthog began to wobble than gained control speeding up faster than before. A small number of plasma weapons were aimed at the warthog but splashed close to harmless on the side of the warthog. the rest of the fire power just dissapated after a bit of chassing the wathog. Coop had gotten out safe and adjusted his steering and headed as close as he could to north.
Coop tore into a small path that was litterred warthog prints. He had to manuver around trees nearly turning the vehice sideways. Coop often abused the ability to slide the vehicle around.
Coops visor scanned the area trying to pick up a signal. White squares zapped the forestry looking for familliar figures.

"Are we-" The sound of squealing tires from bay 12 filled the hallway, and stopped Mike mid sentance. Mike looked up and wonderer what was going on. He had never authorized anyone to get one of the Hogs. Just then, his COM clicked in as a new signal spoke. "This is SPARTAN-019 request immediate pick-up; I'm currently 5 clicks north-east of the Base. It seems that everyone else ended up burning up on reentry, died on impact, or landed several clicks west of my position; it's best we let them get back on their own." This was both good and bad news. There were survivors out there that needed to be picked up. But the SPARTAN was top priority. "Hey, the situation just got hairy. We need to go to the COM station stat."

"Rubbish. The covanent never slow down." It's was obvious he was just covering up the fact he wanted to go fast. Just then his visor bleeped and rang out showing a green square. Coop smashedharder through the brush and trees comming to a large bush figure covered by a flahshing green square. " I think this is it."

Leito raised his MA6B and aimed on one knee. He had caught some movement across the road from him out of the corner of his eye. Slowly and carefully he went to lower his weapon, and when it was at his chest a figure popped out about waist high with a large weapon that had green rods in its clip. Without hesitation he pulled the trigger for only a split second allowing the bullets to fly and hit their target; the methane tank on the grunts back. Once the explosion happened and the grunt had fallen, burning, Spartan-019 looked to his left and found his ride home.
