((Make him say "no, I'll go around unarmed" Go on, you can do it!
He doesnt seem all too crooked...'cept for the drinking factor anyways. Erik hasnt seen him do anything bad.
And remember, he's got a grudge against crooked cops.))

"That idiot!" Artemis swore as she turned the sprinklers off. "He should have just asked me...I could have gotten him down there." She went back to the entrance room, grabbed a mop, and started to sweep.

Louise breezed past the main receptionist and headed for the hall where, rumor has it, that Brooks was holed up. But of course she was stopped by the two guards stationed outside his room. Merely staring at them with one eye she quirked an eyebrow as if to say “Well? Open the door you monkeys.” But in actuality they probably had no idea who she was or why she was there, nor did they probably care as long as she didn’t try anything funny.

The guards glanced at her, "This room is off limits ma'am, if you have any business with the captain, you'll need to leave a message of some kind." They held onto their guns, still a little spooked from the incident the night before.

Louise made a face as if she couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Sniffling she lifted a hand to her face and rubbed her blind eye, hidden behind hair. “Are…are you s-seriously saying that…” she threw in a sniffle and then a quiet sob. “Tha-that I ca-can’t see my own BROTHER?” And then she was bawling, making a big scene, huge tears rolling down her cheeks.
Louise had to see Brooks in private, she wasn't about to pass anything on through a stupid message.

The one to the left tried to smile, "come on now, it's his sister....how much harm can she do him?" The other guard sighed, "Five minutes, and we'll be leaving the door open with a gun on your back."

With the knowledge that she’d be watched Louise burst into more tears, wailing rather loud now. “I ca-can’t even talk to him for 10 minutes w-without s-someone trying to sh-shoot me?!” And then she pushed past the guards, rubbing at her face and slamming the door in their faces, carrying on just inside the door as if she were complaining and asking that the guards be demoted as soon as possible for their lack of respect for the family system.
And then Louise grew serious. Wiping what remained of her little escapade outside off of her cheeks she removed her coat and draped it over one arm. “Damn, Brooks, you came pretty close to getting your a** handed to you.” And she dropped down into the chair normally used for visitors, noting that it hadn’t been broken in. No surprise there, she doubted anyone would come and visit this dweeb.

The guards were too scared to open the door and check in, and left it at that.
Brooks glanced up, "well, suns shining on me today." He leaned back in his bed with a grin. " He was pretty bandaged up, but his wounds were healing nicely. "So, Princess, what brings you around? You going to try and kill me too? Or were you coming to make sure I was all right? considering your feelings and all."

“Oh come on, Brooks. You know me better than that.” She grinned, shifting in the chair so that her legs dangled over one arm while she rested her back on the other one. “I’ll only kill you if you fail to cooperate.” A quiet laugh and she took in his bandages, pity crossing her face for a moment. Brooks was right that first day, she was rather soft on the inside.
“A little bit of both reasons then, I guess.” And Louise became very business like, sitting up in her chair despite her awkward seating arrangement. “I’m under the assumption that whoever tried to off you also tried to kill me maybe an hour before they rolled around your side of the neighborhood.” She paused, letting it sink in. As much as she wanted to continue she’d rather see the reaction on his face when he realized people were starting to slump the cops in with the scum of the earth bounty hunters.
