Shey nosed at the clingy bundles with a smile. "He's coming." She said reassuringly. It seemed as if the big male cub was also somewhat of a coward, as he flinched at the responding roar and did his best to conceal himself behind one of his mother's forelegs.

Scribble spoted the tan lioness and two little budles of joy not to far ahead. He ran ever faster at the site, his heart thumping in his chest from excitment. As his family came into clear view, he slowed down his pace to a trot, then silently walked over to his mate and new born cubs, a warm smile across his muzzle. He went over to Shey and nuzzled his head against hers, licking her affectionatly. "How are you feeling my love?" He questioned her in a soft and caring tone looking over to the helpless cubs cuddled against their mothers warm and soft fur, his eyes filled with love.

A joyful smile crossed Shey's face at the sight of the King. She would have ran to greet him, but the cubs at her side stopped her, and she waited for his arrival. She nosed at his mane lovingly, then drew back to let him get a good look at the two cubs.
Despite the fact that they had yet to inherit their senses of sight, hearing, and smell, both cubs seemed to sense the presence of their father, and it was the little female who first toddled toward this new presence, while the her bigger brother hid behind his mother's paws.
Shey smiled at the little female, looking down to see the male cub pushing against her paws, as if trying to disappear. She moved away, bringing her muzzle close and nudging him toward his father. "Oh, go on, little cookie. He's harmless." And at last, he began to toddle toward Scribble, mewling.
"What shall we name them?" Shey asked her love softly, her eyes shining. "That one there that looks like you, she's a fiery little one, that's for sure. And him..." She gave the male a little helping push forward as he placed his rump down defiantly halfway between herself and Scribble. "He's sweeter than chocolate."

Scribble smiled at Shey again and then looked down to the cubs as she moved back. He watched as the little girl, a split image of himself, stumbled toward him. His heart stopped with every step she took with her tiny paws and he lay down beside Shey as the little one came closer. He pressed his large nose to her small one and closed his eyes, nuzzling her gently. Scribble lifted his head back up to look at his son, scared at first, but then warming up to him as he crept foward.
"Names. Oh boy, I was never really good with names." Scribble said, recalling the memory of when they had to name their Pride. He thought for a minute and looked down at both the cubs, giving his son a gentle nuzzle and watching his daughter scamper around clumslely. "She is a little spitfire" Scribble chuckled and kept an eye on her, then, as if a lightbuld had gone off in his mind, he thought of a name. "Jenny." He replied. "I don't know why, but I have always liked that name." He looked to his mate as if waiting for her approval, a warm smile across his muzzle.

Kairi had been sitting off in a corner of the den, her paws resting on some herbs she had been gathering over the past few days. The Grey-Green-- Now Adult lioness, pushed herself up slowly, two new scents hitting her quickly, along with a word from above. She padded slowly out of the den, her grey eyes scanning around for a moment. Her eyes wandered up to the skies and the early clouds, and they seemed to lead her in a certain direction. She wandered over to where Scribble, Shey, and their two new cubs sat, but she paused behind a tree, not wanting to intrude. She just waited there, smiling calmly over at the new family.

Shey nodded, drawing the cub back as Scribble came close. "Jenny..." She mused. Then she stared at the little Jenny's brother, who had managed to claw his way onto his father's paws, and sat mewling lostly. "Koekje." She said without hesitation. She wondered at this. She'd never heard the name before, but it seemed a godsend.

"Koekje and Jenny." Scribble smiled as he looked at their two newborns, keepings his paws still has his son climbed about. His tail feather swished back and forth behind him happily, amazed at their quick ability to move and stumble about. He pressed his head against Shey's again and nuzzled against her, resting his chin on the top of her head gently.

((Did Dutch people start saying Koekje and Koekie? xD Maybe that's where Cookie came from rofl ))
Shey nodded slowly with a smile, revelling in the completeness of her family. Then she rose, and saw the green-gray form of Kairi in the distance. "Here, let's bring them back." She said to Scribble, picking up Koekje, who had clung to his father's paws as if afraid to get off again.

Scribble nodded as she got up, watching her body movements carefully to make sure she is alright. Once satisfied, he stood up as well, bending his head down and taking his daughter gently by the scruff and following next to Shey

Shey saw him watching her as she got up, rolling her eyes in good humor as she went and dealt him a playful blow to the ears with her muzzle. "I'm fine." She grinned at him, voice slightly muffled by Koekje's fur. "There's Kairi." She pushed her way easily through the tall grasses, headed for her.
Coffe appeared behind Kairi, with a smirk on her face that belayed her true feelings. She was just as happy as anyone else, and her futile attempts to cover up her joy at the arrival of the two royal cubs made it all the more obvious. "Wot's this y'all 'ave woken me for?" She groaned in an attempt to make her act seem more plausible, screwing up her eyes as if trying to peer into the distance and seeing nothing but her King and Queen making their way toward herself and Kairi.
"Oh, be still, Koekje." Shey muttered happily to the cub as he squirmed uncomfortably in her grasp.

Scribble chuckled as nuzzled Shey nosed his ear and smiled, assured now she was all right. He heard her muffled reply and followed her through the tall grass, Jenny surprisingly still, but curious about everything around her. Scribble knew she could see just yet, but the way she turned her head at every slight movment was unbelievable. The teal king smiles warmly and adverted his eyes to his pride members. He tried his best to keep his posture and a calm look on his face, but the overwhelming joy in his heart took over and he just relaxed.

"Well, I guess your one big happy family now, eh?" Coffe grinned as they neared, standing up to greet the King and Queen and the two little royal bundles they carried.
Shey shook her head with a smile. "We." She corrected, and was rewarded with one of the warrior lioness's rare smiles. "We are one big happy family. Always have been."

Scribble smiled as Shey spoke, nodding his head in response to her words. "And always will be" He replied, looking down to his son, hanging from his mother's gentle mouth. He took a deep breath through his nose and let it out in a happy sigh. "Lets go home.."

((Lol, no prob.
And this sounds more like the end of a story than just the birth of royal cubbies xD))
Shey nodded. "Let's." With that, she turned and led the small group back toward the den. She was eager enough to get back. She wanted them to be able to see it. It was their home, and it was where they'd stay for quite a few months yet, before they'd be able, or allowed, to venture into the pridelands themselves, and so it stood to reason that they should get to know it as soon as possible.

((XD! True lol))
Scribble followed Shey's lead, his daughter gently dangling from his mouth, her new scent filling his nose. As new as she was her scent still was familliar to him, and he smiled to himself, still overjoyed with the birth of his new cubs.
He walked into the main den with Shey and the rest of his Pride, pawing at some grass and moss, making a comfortable little nest for his mate and cubs.
