Nadira sidled up to where Vermillion stood, and idly glanced over the scrolls. Most of it she couldn't understand, so she walked over to the Queen of Pearle.

"Are you alright Marta? You don't look all that well."

(Gaah what happens next? Should we just go?)

The Foul smell of smoke, and burning flesh permeated throughout the air. Nadira wrinkled her nose and coughed forcefully.

She wandered off into the other chamber, steam curled up into the air from dark groves where fragments of the golden collar had sunk deep into the stone.

(I understand, don't worry as I always say life happens I just wanted to help you get back it when you returned. Bills suck.)

((I'm posting here, even though I'm not in the throne room, but neither are any of you...))

Yamishiro slid down the empty hallway, his hair and clothes flowing about him like an aura. His eyes wandered about the surroundings, odd place this Houka, it was far too bright for his tastes. He flicked his hand and the torches lighting the hallway started to snuff themselves out. He could sense a great presence nearby and as he stepped into a cross section of hallways, he discovered why. There, at the far end of the hallway, was a large gathering of powerful adversaries: mages, empresses, and other nobles. They certainly made themselves easy to find. He glared in their direction and waited for Cross, he was not one to make the first move. "Remember, we need the Houkan Empress and Lord Vermillion of Domachi.” He reminded Cross quietly as his eyes narrowed on the targets.

((grrr i hate working 12 hours at a time))

Marta smiled at Nadira and nodded softly "i just feel so much pain in the air" she answered as she walked back into the throne room to retreive her sword she strapped it on and noticed Nadira slinking away and she followed her.

Vermillion glanced at Nadira; "Apparently I have made quite a reputation for myself."

He waived his hand and the books and scrolls disappeared.

"Who summons Lord Vermillion while he is in chambers with her magiesty Lyra, Because it is insultive to her magiesty worse then it is to myself."

((Ugh, sorry I haven't been RPing here lately.))

Nefen dared not interfere with anything that was going on. When the rest of the party arrived at this part of the palace, he chose to hang at the rear of the group, trying not to draw attention to himself. The events unfolding in front of him were fascinating indeed.

The new decor was a definite change in contrast but the brightest didn't really seem to affect him (it made the entire task seem so....easy).
As such he didn't really care for the crowd down the hall, they would probably be easy to dispose of...not difficult at all.
If this was an difficult battle he would've thought things through, if it was difficult he would've thought of a method to get through without hostilities, if it were difficult he'd be brandishing his sword right now. However, the group seemed like commoners (to him)so no point wasting energy when Yami could.

He swiftly side-steped behind Yami smirking. "You expect me to know what they look like? You go first". He slightly-nudged the other commander forward.

Vermillion just growled low in his throat at such a insult, And he would be sure to send the insult back to Loas doublefold.

"I don't care who goes first, I'm gonna send your defeated bodies back to your master, and let him know this once you regain consciousness. I cannot be bought, tempted, or killed to become the slave to you dark master. If I am to die it will be a noble death, placing me far from any chain Loas can forge, but I warn you my death would be a thorn to Loas's side. In such a noble sacrifice a great power is released, I have chosen my recipient to that power, and so I give your master that warning to not pursue me."

Vermillion stepped forward facing the end of the hall.

"Queen Lyra, this is your home, and I will not fight upon this scared ground without imminent danger to myself. I will fight upon your order, and would be honored if you lead us into this battle."

Yamishiro narrowed his eyes on Vermillion as he ranted on about honor, as if Yamishiro were a messenger. Cross held back; this was to be expected, he wasn't always the most driven, but he could be a valuable comrade. Nonetheless, Yamishiro wasn't feeling up to this task either...perhaps it was time he got into the mood...

Yamishiro took a few steps forward, putting some distance between himself and Cross. Bluish light emitted from his hands and slowly wrapped its way around his body until it entered into his eyes, turning the completely blue. This created an eerie effect as Yamishiro's head suddenly snapped back so that he was staring at the ceiling, his hair fading into a nightmarish ebony. A horrible tearing sound echoed through the hallway, followed by the sound of blood splattering on the floor as great, demonic, leathery wings pierced through the flesh on his back in torrents of blood and grisly black horns tore through his skull. His head slowly lowered back to stare at the group at the other end of the hallway, the blue light fading from his eyes and leaving piercing red irises in its wake.

Yamishiro snickered evilly, his persona turning a 180. He licked blood away from the corner of his mouth as rivers of red rushed down his face, flowing from the torn flesh around his horns. "The only thing I will bring Laos is word of your doom, Lord Vermillion of Domachi." He said, his eyes focusing on Vermillion.

In an instant Yamishiro had vanished and reappeared in front of Vermillion, his clawed fingers reaching toward his head. He would see how powerful the great Lord Vermillion really was.

"die...." The illusion was torn by Yamishiro's claws, and faded from sight and from the throne room came a torrent of burning blades glinting like teeth.

In the doorway to the throne room boxed Vermillion's massive head. a little flame curled from his lips, dropping out of the flame to the floor was liquid steel sizzling while it cooled, and vermillion awaited to see if his surprise tactic worked.

(Wow I don't know how I missed that you guys had started posting here 0.0 wink

Shavas stood a few steps behind Vermillion. To her shame, the demons had approached unnoticed.
She regarded them with an expression of cold anger as she summoned the magic with a smooth sweep of her hand.

The air boiled with her rage, she could feel the muscles in her jaw flex as she gritted her teeth.
Her temper was rushing towards a lethal precipace.

The sounds of battle echoed throughout the corridor, but to Shavas the silence seemed overwhelming, she placed herself between the rest of the group and the Demon Cross. A smirk of a smile touching her lips.

"I'd run," She stated casually "Because if you attempt to harm me, I will see to it that you greatly regret it."

Nadira greeted the oncoming demons with a menacing look from under her arched eyebrows.
She began to draw the sword, but after a second thought drove the blade back into the scabbard.

Her stomach fluttered with fear for her companions, and it seemed as though she could barely draw a breath let alone think straight.

She smoothed down a stray lock of hair, and tried to compose herself but as soon as her mind started working right her terror escalated, and she found her thoughts groping for a chance to escape.

Shavas's rage was evident, her penetrating golden gaze seemed as though it could take down an army by itself not to mention the ball of boiling something she held in her palms. Vermillion was nothing less than lethal his tone chilled her right down to the bones. Her friends cool composure about the fight made her feel a fool, she could feel her face heating with color.

The demon's however, were no amatures. They were confident, and seemed to move deliberatly throughout the field of battle.

Her limbs started to tingle oddly as she shifted her weight from foot to foot, the decision had been made. She drew a small knife and looked down at it oddly as it glimmered coldly in the faint light, her expression hardened as she started to twirl the wicked looking dagger between her fingers. Testing its weight.

Cross teleported in front of Yami and blocked the majority of the fiery projectiles. Fire magic didn't really phase him, so he was able to block most of the projectiles without hastle save for a few strays. Apperently the entire group was readying themselves for battle, twas a pity he really didn't want to get involved in a minor skirmish.

"You really gotta start off big, couldn't even leave time for me to talk them into a false-sense of security", he said in a whisper with a mix between sarcasm and interest. The entire set-up seemed exactly like a chess-board sortof, the king hiding behind the pawns...well maybe it was moreso like checkers. Regardless he couldn't stay in the side-lines to let Yami get triple-teamed, 'sides the enemy seemed a tad cocky (well the loud-mouthed girl and the dragon to be specific).

Cross grinned and teleported to the female that called him out, leaning against her shoulder with his arms folded. "Why ever would I want to harm such a pretty face? You really need to relax, ya know."
He teleported in front of Vermillion (not sure if he actually was Vermillion, but Yami called him out so it must be so), not allowing the girl to react to his sudden presence. "And why're you trapped in that little room, it's not like we're trying to take the throne or anything" He teleported to the side and leaned against the wall (not giving Vermillion time to respond either).
"And don'tchall got guards or paladins or somethin' for defences, it was sorta easy to get in here..." He shook his head, somewhat taunting them at the secruity breach.

Vermillion arched a large brow at Cross; "Isn't it obvious Cross, your out of the loop, and so far assured in your abilites you can't even see the double cross in play. Your on the guest list, that is why you were let in, and as for the room. I moved in here while Yamishiro was being bold in force as you are now, and his miscalulation led him tof all for a dummy. Unfornatley the magic that is used to retain a assumed form, does not work in here. So your stuck with what nature dealt you."

Vermillion pushed his head out a bit more and switched back. His graceful human form much easier to pilot in the narrow hallway. "There is a bigger evil in the universe then your puny master Cross, this planet, its people, only a mere speck to the oceans of blood available to one as cruel as myself. However good help is hard to find these days, even in a galatic scale, however Loas does present himself as one who could lead my armies. If you do recall me saying before you so kindly stepped into the path of my blades; Any who slay me would cause a great power to be released, and it would be that recipient who would cause your master discomfort."

Vermillion smiled; "You two morons have not sailed far enough in the heavens to see true power, or know that your master is but a link in a chian of demons that once reunited becomes far more indestructible then he could be alone. That chain once made GODS tremble in fear, and mortals nothing more then sources of energy."

Vermillion scaned his eyes over Nadira, his anger and tone showing that of Loas and growing with every word; "A commodiy to be eaten and to sacrifice in blood rituals essential to the growing of cosmic power. I have even marked my next sacrifical mortal in my conquest of that power."

Vermillion thrust his hand toward Shavas, and the mark on her neck glowed with searing pain for Shavas.

"Now I'm going to ask you bear witness to the a true power; and to you mortals who so willing followed me. I'll spare your lives a few moments longer, you lady Lyra, nor Lady Marta are gonna have a chance to use you station as a means of bargain. Your lives wore forefieted the minute you allowed me within breathing distance. The rest of you are soliders or mercenaries, and heads of state. Your fate death, and that is your judgements their is no appeals"

Vermillion released Shavas and the pain quit almost instaneously. "I thank you also Shavas, or should I thank Loas for that matter. He handed me two perfect tools, your sacrifices will not only aide my cause but his in time. Tuski yes will share in your fate as will all mages of the black tower, can't be helped;" Vermillion bowed to her, he looked almost neuroic and his power still swelled beyond the limits of his human body as it began to tear at the flesh. He sighed loudly; "They just do not last when put too such much rigor, i apologize but we must hurry this up, my natural form can handle the rest of our conversation."

Vermillion snapped his fingers and the palace and Vermillion disappeared. They all stood upon the open top of the hallway which was suspended above a massive crater. On a pillar of the debris so tightly packed its mass was cracking the ground and sinking slowly into the earth.

"I'm sorry Queen Lyra but your people and city are gone, the explosion wiped out most of the nearby settlements, and Marta the tremors of such caused the south wall to collaspe in on a few of your guards. Do thank me in making their lives painless in death."

Vermillion's behavior was even more evil in true form.

"Now that you have seen my power on a terrestial level, Would you two care to return and annouce to Loas i will be arriving shortly to crown him king of this domain. Stay here and I will eliminate all who serve under him, and send him back to the underworld stripped of power never to return half the demon he is now if he could return after such exile."

Vermillion formed two halves of a tablet sending one to Cross and the other to Yamishiro. "That message is time sensitive, as is my patience, and only the hand of Loas can forge the two halves to bring forth the writing. Within the tablet havles I give Loas a spell to use at his descretion. The spell to infuse within his subjects the ability to further their power with each human they consume."

Vermillion looked between the two; "I'll await your return with his reply here."

(OCC Start: Okay for starters this is gonna cause allot shock alright, but unfornately not all of you are gonna get the full story. Too many times have I written meaning to things in here and characters always seem to have devine inspiration hit them. This much I will let your know, Blondeshadow, Deepzzz, your gonna half to determine why Loas sent you for vermillion, and determine if this is in fact the reason. There is two paths i seen coming when I RP'd off the last page, and one of them was building to a climatic turning point. The other, a trail already worn into the earth here, and no matter how you two choose to pursue this post. Nothing is going to happen to your characters that you don't want to happen. The thing I wanted you all to know is, this is a bluff on a biblical scale, and one that is gonna cost my character plenty so before you chasties me on god modding i let you in on that much.

what I'm hoping for i cannot say, but a few will laugh already. It would be a humerous outcoming with no one getting hurt somewhat. However the shock in awe is there, and this time i'm garaunteed a true reply to a situation without much OCC background to help. I will however accept PM's for questions. ending OCC)

A dainty kingdom turned to ruins in mere seconds; such power...it definitely wasn't of this world. He was sure everything Vermillion had been saying was rubbish, all this....it just didn't make any sense. How could such a being go undetected for the countless centuries that passed, Laos himself would've at least detected a hint of such a presence even in his captivity.
However that wasn't even half of the issue. Why extend a cross-road offer, why even bother to help Laos in the first place; better yet why take offence is said offer was refused. Another thing, if the kingdom had been destroyed why keep the queen (at least he thoughtt one of the girls were) and her subjects alive; why even bother to degrade the two of them to mere messengers when Vermillion (or whatever became of him) could most likely easily dispose of both of them and take Laos by surprize (if such a thing were even possible). The situation was baffling, if Vermillion truely was an evil entity far surpassing that of a god he sure wasn't acting the part; yet, the kingdom's destruction was evidence enough. Nothing Made Sense!

Cross stared Vermillion down, his eyes burned with a hidden rage. Scenerios raced through his mind, not one made sense of what became of the situation. But he wasn't about to run home like a scared dog with his tail inbetween his legs, it just wasn't in his character. He teleported besides Yami and dropped his tablet.
"You can get outta here faster, take the tablets and do as he says" It wasn't neccesarily a command, merely a suggestion. He couldn't think of a better decision than to simply take both paths, one of them delivering the tablets while the other stayed in position. A fight would be a lost-cause on both their parts, yet such a result seemed unavoidable.

"You doubt me, i've no choice but to take my words to your master myself, and then deny him his prize on account of your stupidity of a simple request. His temper will know no boundries, and when your broken I might let you drink of my sweat to sustain your life a little longer. I'll send you his reply soon."

Vermillion pointed a talon towards Loas, a thin red line became visible.

"Loas Hear my words, hear them well, your servants have insulted a power beyond their understanding, and alliance of that power to your banner weakens before me at your insult. You could not wait for me to approach you with a present of the mortal heiracry of this land. I give you 20 minutes for you to recall your servants before I deny you any prize but empty handed servants. They carry the details upon two tablets, you've a total of 30 minutes before they are lost forever and my patience runs out. I'll bring the mortals once you've agreeded to the details in the message, if not I destory them all where they stand."

Vermillion looked down at Cross; "I expect a reply soon."
