As luck would have it Quin's path didn't seem to crash into anyone or anything. Infact the truck seemed to be in working order, but it would do him no good. Unbuckling and getting out of the truck Quin was confused by the chaos about him. Everything happening that he was just lost. He had to make sense of it.

He had to go up. Dodging through smoke towards were he'd seen the wall of the dam Quin ran along its edge tell he came to a ladder and began to climb.

The Vindicare emerged from the dead forest atop one of the trees, noticing two people hiding not too far from him. The sheer amount of chaos that was going on a little overwhelming, but he controlled himself. Letting the primer of his grenade go, so it wouldn't go off, he took another glance at the two. One appeared to be murmering a prayer to someone he hoped was the Emperor and the other he remembered from earlier. Just as the man who had thrown the chainsaw at him earlier went around the tree and was blasted away, his little grappling hook came into play. A short time earlier he had taken the gadget from his pack he quickly made a lasso sort of knot and swung it above his head. Before throwing the cord and loop around the two in the short distance.

While this went swinging was going on he pulled out his grenade once more and readied it, letting the timer go. Once the loop had fallen about the two he jumped off the side and away, back into the forest. His weight would counter balance the two people he had just lassoed and catapult them off the ground, over the branch and into his direction. Back into the forest a little bit, keeping them nice and safe for the moment from the man who was going to attack them. This was of course after the grenade had landed near the two he had just pulled up, and detonated in a blinding flash. Still the plan had gone a little askew once the two had put up for themselves, but it didn't matter. They would be safe now.

As Sey had dodged and scrambled, she felt a surge of hope with the arrival of Stryphe; the thick curtain of smoke allowed her to scramble to her feet. Though, seeing was a bit difficult. No longer plagued by men who wanted to pummel her, she frowned and wafted a hand in front of herself.

"Is everyone okay?" She hadn't been watching much, aside from the Rook, and the miners' charge had garnered her full attention. But the gunfire had been endless...

The NPCs, of which there was about ten left, began climbing the ladders, seeing as there was shouting coming from the top and, frankly, the people down here frightened them.

Hakan, upon the back of the rook, keep a clear eye out at everything. He didnt shoot, not yet, but that was because he didn't want to hurt if he didn't have to.

Hakan was charging quite a bit of ice magic into the arrow he kept drawn, however. Anyone who was hit by it would likely become an ice statue. And likely die, unless they could keep frozen blood from spiking.

Just a warning.

Aiolos threw one of his knives where he last saw his attacker and ran away like hell through the smoke and towrds the dam, to the top, he hoped.

He was half way up the side, he could see the whole of the battle now if he looked over his shoulder. But he dared not do so for fear of sensory overload of all that was happening and letting go.

Looking back up he sighed and continued, the thin layer of armour beneath his surcoat was beginning to annoy him and the heat was starting to get to him.

Each rung he climbed would have a flintlock striking a lower bar and making a noise that would ring in his ear. There wasn't much further to go now.

"Hey." A weak smile, tired red eyes. "Think you could get me somewhere there aren't bullets?"

Even as she spoke, her hands were glowing red. She had one fireball left, and damned if she wasn't going to throw it at someone before she was out of the fight.

She might die. She really might die. And as much as she sought death, when it was this close, the thought terrified her. It showed in the way she clung close to Sun, the way she didn't protest that he was holding her, even if she let none leak into her face.

If she was going to die, she was going to try her damnedest not to.

The smoke had begun to clear away, the wind helping quite a bit with it. And with the disappearance of the blinding brown, came Hein's Hawk Eye. Refocusing in a matter of moments, Hein found his target once more: Sey, the white mage.

Pulling back on his bow, he sight down the shaft as he released it, the arrow flying straight and true. His resolve was strengthened. For that moment's hesitation, he had lost what was a perfect chance to seriously cripple the Shades' forces. Never again.

As the first arrow flew towards her heart, he had already notched a second that was aimed directly at her throat. It was kill or be killed, and Hein had no intention of dying anytime soon.

Zen saw his opening and bolted up the dam behind Aiolos after he spotted him, giving him cover from behind, Zen had finally fully recovered and was ready to protect.

Sam collapsed as she saw Flare fall, against a wall, a stone...something. She did the same, giving herself time to reload. And she reloaded, completely on autopilot. Even as she scrambled in the dirt behind the stone, the fireball hitting the stone and about scaring the s**t out of her. How had she not seen that coming....How many clips did she have again...Oh, right...She was fine. For the moment, She was still bent on Flare as her target. That or anything near her. Besides, she couldn't see much else anyways.

So her target was now Flare...and whatever Flare was on, which was Sunstrike, who if she knew it was him, probably wouldn't have shot, seeing as she knew him from elsewhere. But she didn't, so there was nothing holding her back. So only one more shot got fired off at Flare...and consquentially, Sunstrike. For now.

Shouyin heard a few screamed reports out of the earbud in his left ear, and decided his prey was headed in the exact direction he wanted to be headed. The half-golem saw the knife thrown, waving his stone right arm in front of his body and knocking the blade harmlessly to the side. He increased his pace, hoping to close in enough to leap at the man and bring him crashing down face first with Shou on top.

At which point he'd rear back his left hand swiftly and drive the blade into the base of the man's skull. Zen was noted, but there was no way he could get between Shou and Aiolos in time, considering the half-golem had been chasing the musician down for a little bit now.

Lucky enough to still be bearing her shields, the first arrow struck, and the force of its impact sent Sey to the ground with a scream of fright. The shields flickered for a moment, lessening in fortitude. The second arrow whistled over her head; the fall had dropped her from its intended trajectory.
