At this, the fox's expression changed. If he had found it amusing, or in any favorable taste, he would have been able to tell. Perhaps Kurama had angered him? Though he didn't see why he would have.
The red-head finally sat up, then asked in an entirely serious tone, "What is it that I did to irritate you so?"
He didn't see that he had done anything wrong, but obviously he had. Would Hiei act like this to him, otherwise?
This hurt the kitsune deeply, though even he wasn't sure why. He had come to expect the boy to be more pleasant towards him. If it would help, he intended to apologize.

((Aw. I feel bad now. xD))
Hiei's plan had worked too well. Yes, he had expected the fox to catch the irritated tone in his voice, but something about the way his expression changed and he sat up threw Hiei off. He shifted his own expression to make it seem like he didn't care. He would go on with it. It was ridiculous to even think that he would back down now and say he wasn't really mad. Even if he couldn't swallow that bitter aftertaste of a guilt he didn't understand, he could still make the fox think he had done something that was enough to make Hiei close himself off.
"If you have to ask then you don't deserve to know."
He didn't understand why he liked to make Kurama feel that way. Maybe he enjoyed the way the red-head would try to apologize and make things better.

((I love to make Kurama feel bad. <3))
Kurama flinched noticably at that. He wasn't used to not knowing things like this. Normally, he would have patched things up right away, but now... why was the apparition acting this way? Had pride come into it?
"While I don't know what brought this on, I am truly sorry," he said, giving a sincere glance before looking away.
The red-head said only that before becoming silent. He didn't figure that he would be acknowledged, and even if he was, he would only be lashed out at.

((X3 I love to make Hiei make him feel bad. But then it makes me feel bad.))
Hiei cursed under his breath. He hated seeing Kurama so incredibly sorry and shamed. The flinch hadn't helped either. He decided quickly on a way to resolve this. Feeling guilty was not something he enjoyed admitting to.
"If you're really sorry, then you'll toss me one of those pillows," he said, now in a more likable tone, and offering a slight smirk. Hopefully that would wipe that look off of the fox's faceāas if he were a dog that had just been castigated for making a mess. Besides, he thought he would be much more comfortable with a soft pillow behind his back.

The fox perked up a bit. His manner was pleasant, rather than what was his expectation, so he would be daring.
Kurama did not offer a smirk until he got a bit of payback, however. He did throw a pillow, but much harder than he had to, to the extent that the little Koorime might lose his balance.
If not that, he would at least be surprised. Either way, it would surely prove to be amusing.

((XD Nice, Kurama.))
Hiei had leaned back, expecting a gentle toss. But his eyes widened as Kurama threw the object harder than necessary. He performed sort of an awkward, flailing catch that resulted in his shoulder hitting the glass of the window with a firm clack as the lock kept it from opening and letting the youkai fall out. His face was one of utter surprise, as he had actually expected the window to give.
Regaining, and unable to hide his embarrassment, Hiei could only glare. "You are such a child," he muttered, looking to the side and putting the pillow behind him so that his back wasn't against the hard wall.

((xD Sorry for the creepy Kurama mood swings, but I'm listening to the radio. Keeps me awake, though I still can hardly keep my eyes open.))
Kurama couldn't hold back a chuckle. Him first almost falling, then the look on his face. Almost hard to believe that they had both been so... solemn, before.
"I take that as a compliment, Hiei," was his reply. Acting youthful wasn't a bad thing, now was it? Unless you made ignorant mistakes, of course.
"And besides, at least I have grace." Now, he was pressing his luck. The fire demon wouldn't hurt him, so what had he to worry about?

((That's okay, it was funny. xD Yes, I'm randomly tired... o_O))
Hiei glared again and this time sat forward to pull the pillow from behind him. "Unless you want to be smothered in your sleep," he threatened, throwing the pillow back at the fox with the same force he had been hit with. "you would do well to watch what you say."
He smirked, hoping the pillow wouldn't be so gentle against the fox's face.

Almost in an attempt to further his previous point, he caught the pillow. Nice try, Hiei. He might have let it hit, but that would ruin the fun of deflating the Koorime's own payback.
The threat did not phase him, as they normally didn't. Who said he planned to sleep? And even if he did, he was sure that Hiei would do the opposite and watch over him. Unlike before, this sense of anger wasn't bad, it was more playful.
Kurama rose, pillow in hand, and shortly made his way to the windowsill. His intent was to politely give the object to him, silently apologizing for the behavior, in case that was needed. He held the pillow out, waiting for the apparition to take it. Or rather, knowing Hiei, snatch it, and continue with his attitude.
"Missing something, Hiei?"

Hiei scowled when Kurama caught the pillow with ease. He really had wanted the fox to at least be surprised and blink. But it was he who blinked, as Kurama had risen and was holding the pillow out gently.
"Tch," Hiei rolled his eyes and quickly took the object back. Putting it behind his back once more, he continued. "You really are a child."
Hiei almost always masked that he liked the fox's playfulness. It was somehow relaxing. Like a release from his own thoughts; thoughts that made him want to be alone.

(Sorry! won't do it again. razz )
"You cook. I wanna see our guests!"
Night ran off through the various hallways, following the new energies. The closer she got, the more she found out about her friends.
Koorime. Irritable. Bored. Fox. Complicated. Also bored. Both in one room.
Night smiled to herself, and slowed as she came up to the room the guests were in.
She looked in and saw koorime get beamed with a pillow. She surpressed a giggle.
She slipped in as the little one leaned back, so he wouldn't get comfortable and not want to play.
"Hiya!"

"Would you have it any other way, Hiei?" he asked, right before the girl shouted. His expectation wasn't a pleasant reply, if any at all.
Kurama locked eyes with the fire apparition for a second, then turned to the child-like demon. This girl seemed to radiate her emotions, much unlike their hostess.
"Hello, miss," was his simple response. While he did not trust her, he saw no reason to be impolite. She seemed pure enough, and had made no move to hurt them. All the fox could sense is that she was a playful child.

"Whatever, at least they won't be poisoned," Kasai replyed, not able to be pleasant for long. "And do try to be nice!" she called out, loud enough for anyone within a mile to hear.
The demoness paced herself to the kitchen, took out a few pots and pans, and began preparing pasta. This was a food that Night had taught her to make a while back, so, of course, she made sure to consult a cook book.
She wasn't fond of Japanese food, really. It was... okay, she just never ate it. Ramen? No. Pocky? Definitely no. Sushi? Just ick. So she ate a wide variety of forgein human foods. One thing humans were good for; they could cook.
On the menu was spaghetti, a fruit punch she had become fond of, and bread sticks. The bread sticks, of course, were the frozen type. Couldn't make bread to save her life. But an excellent tomato sauce she could make.

Hiei had opened his mouth and was going to answer Kurama's silly question when the infantile demon girl chirped at the door. He responded to the fox's hold of his gaze with a flash of his eyes. Just when things were getting comfortable, a retarded brat had to parade in.
Of course, Hiei did not proceed with niceties as the fox did. He simply shifted his gaze to the disruptive girl and stared with an expression that submitted he was utterly bored and couldn't care less.

After dinner was started, she went upstairs to meet up with the other three. Her sauce was not difficult to make, and the rest would take around fifteen minutes. So why not let them get ready for dinner? If she could coax them to eat it, that is.
Kasai did not bother with stealth, this time. "I see you have met my dear Night. I wish you three to come downstairs in a bit for dinner." Normally, she would have left right then, leaving the girl to show them the way, but she would stick around. If the boys wished, they could ask her questions.
"And by the way, you two can call me Kasai." She did /not/ want to be called their hostess, and it didn't matter if they knew her name. What they didn't know? Only a rare few could call her that. Others were to call her milady, or something similar. She was not of royal blood, but her family had been prominent, and in the area, she was very well known and respected.
