...Yes, and their friendship was practically false because of his choice to keep it welled up for so long...
If the difference was any more drastic than that, it would be difficult to predict whether their friendship would have survived or not

I do understand, I would hate to jeopardize any chance of a friendship between us because of my own stubbornness.
Besides, if I were to leave with Tavin or Tacitus odds are they would be able to discover by reading my thoughts as well.

*This is difficult.... I never thought I would encounter this place for real, let alone anyone inside of it that would actually give a s**t even after getting hints of what I really am...I wonder what everyone else who is here would think?*

I will not judge you my friend... I see you for what you are now, and I will not be the one to condemn you for the events of the past or for whatever it is you are afraid to reveal.

You seem to have a much more open mind than alot of others here.
I'm unsure what I would attribute that to, maybe it's after all that hard training the person you really are inside is coming back out, which is great.
To be honest, after talking to you all this time, the mechanized way you behaved when I first arrived seems rather humerous.

:::She put her finger to her chin, and looked downward::

I suppose that's just how I communicate with all the strangers in my time...so that is how I communicate with all strangers. Do you feel as though I have opened up to you since we met?

Yes, you most certainly have.
You seem very warm for someone I just met, or are you like this with everybody and I'm missing something?
PostPosted: Thu Oct 28, 2004 8:04 pm

I...don't know...I hope I am warm to all people, well the people here at least. Not long ago I recieved a demerit from my department. They recieved a report that I smiled at a young child who waved to me as he and his mother passed by me on duty.... You are right, I am not allowed to be warm to others in my profession.

But, I am very fond of you. You have been straightforward and open to me...even when I am embarassed to ask questions, you insist. For that I am greatful. I hope that you and I can be very good friends.

Wow, that's seemingly wrong to me, but I'm not from your era and can't quite relate. I would expect law enforcement to want at least a somewhat friendly relationship with the populous.

And... you have been the same to me, which is why I am so surprised. It's obvious that this place has had an effect on you.... I'm sure if you just walked in your first time and saw Tavin like that... well... I'm not sure what you'd do.

Me neither, to tell you the truth... there is no such thing as angels, or demons, or dieties in my world. I feel as though the more time I spend here, the more aware of such presences I become...as though the lack of such existance in my world makes me sensitive to it here...that is why I know what you are.

But had I arrived just then for the first time...I think my nuero patterns would collapse upon themselves and cause my brain to become disfunctional. Perhaps that is why I showed up when I did, and not just then. The change would have been so overwhelming. That is why I give you credit...I am amazed you are handling your first time here so well.

When I was very young, four or five years old, I was told a story of a place where all time connected. As I grew older, I basically forgot the story and never thought for a moment that it could be anything more than just that, a story. More than anything, I was just simply fascinated with being here.

So, let me ask you this.... Tavin believes I'm a demon. what do you think I am?
PostPosted: Thu Oct 28, 2004 8:43 pm

I sense a presence from you, somewhat similar to Tavin's. There is no evil in your will, but a part of you is torn by it. I see in you a great facility of good, of celestial proportions...though it is fogged in pain and grief.

I know what Tavin thinks of you, and though he is my comander, I trust this feeling that you are not the dangerious being he fears you might be.

I do believe that you are being truthful and that I can trust you.
For the sake of what you've already told me, and my existence in this place, it is best if I reveal to you the truth.

*takes a deep breathe, and goes on...*

My mother was an angel. I'm sure you are more than familiar with that race and some of it's classifications having already been here. She was a traditional support angel, with no more than healing magic.
My father was a type of demon, an oni. He trained me in the martial arts, and how to integrate magic into my techniques and weapon. So I'm not completely useless in a place like this where magic is disabled.

The only time I saw them in their true forms is the day I saw them dead... Tavin's looks weren't petrifying at all. I thought that corpse was the killer at first, until I discovered my mother.

So... that is what I am, and there are plenty of people out there who would want to kill me just for what I am. It will make my quest alot easier if nobody else finds out unless it's absolutely necessary.

"Stop It!"

*Aetas's voice rips through the Brink as he fades in, almost loud enough to shake items not securely fashioned in the nearby rooms, the door to his room wide open. An orange and green admixture of blood trickled down from his nose, ears, eyes, and the corners of his mouth. As he falls to his knees his clothes change around him from dark robes to his normal clothing, the coat, watches, and normal Tac attire. Even for all his godly might, he is exhausted, spent and almost broken. A slash runs across his chest that pulsates with red light, which quickly fades away. His breathing comes in staggered gasps, unable to shake off the experience he had just subjected himself to.*

Mm...I see :::Cora nodded her head::: I do not understand why that entails so many to want to destroy you...but I have yet to understand much. I will keep your secret and protect it with all my power, and that is very well...

:::She smiled gently at Healous as she made her promise:::
PostPosted: Thu Oct 28, 2004 9:13 pm

:::As cora finishes her vow to keep Healous's secret safe, she hears the tremendous noise from outside the room, in the hallway. She looks quickly back at Healous, and then she moved quickly for the door:::

:::She peered outside to see...Tacitus? Was it happening again..? Could she still be dreaming? Something seems wrong with him...she runs in his direction to find out what is wrong, and to find out what is real:::

*follows Cora out of the room, quietly shutting and locking it behind him...*

...You're Tacitus? What happened to you...?

*I've never even met him myself. I can't base whether he's deserving of aid or not just on Cora's comments, trusting her or not.*

Are you alright?
((I have no idea whether those type of injuries are either nothing for Tac, or alot))
Do you need help?
