Karounos gave a shakey bow, but kept his eyes directed downward as the king and queen stopped in front of him. So this is what it felt like to explode some time soon... "'Ello, pleasure ta meet yeh..." He didn't work to hide his rough accent, mostly because he hadn't heard many other lions speak properly, so he couldn't hide it even if he tried.

As Santos came closer and saw the other male he shot Naida a confused glance and slowed to a stop infront of her. He bowed his head to the male who Naida introduced as Karounos and smiled. "I am Santos, as you must already know. It's a pleasure to meet you too" Why was he with Naida?
Arsenic stayed on his fathers head and watched the stranger silently. He was taking in every detail, and trying to figure out what this male was all about. He turned to Naida. "Why is he here Naida?" his usual quiet voice carried a hint of protective-ness. He had grown close to everyone in the pride, and he didn't know how to feel about this new male.
Nimbus hoped off Adia's back and ran, full speed, in Naida's direction. His little cub legs moved at lightning speed and he skid to a stop infront of the male. Bowing his head quickly to be polite he quickly intoduced himself. "Hi! I'm Nimbus!"

Adia kept to her trot even when Nimbus leapt off and run ahead. She was not in that big of a hurry after all she was still in the after effects of her nap from earlier. When she finally came to a stop next to Santos she smiled at the lion in front of her with Naida and bowed her head. "The pleasure is ours." Adia replied. "I am Adia." She almost felt like laughing at this adorable scene between her confused mate and the no doubt Naida's new to be mate. She'd seen this scene before in her own past a lioness brings home a male stranger and then tells them all he's to be her mate. Too predictable.
Daveigh waited till Adia came to a stop and then climbed up onto her head to get a good look at the newcomer and Naida. "HI! I'm Daveigh! I'm a princess!" Daveigh said to the new lion happily. She was a little too enthusiastic about greeting the lion but that was just her.

Karounos felt greatly overwhelmed by all of the lions in front of him. He had been hoping t just meet the king and queen... but apparently that wasn't how it worked... "Uhm..." He stuttered a moment, trying to form his words to actual sentences, "My name's Karounos..." he managed out thickly, trying his best to suppress his nervousness. This was a pride, then? He bowed to all of the cubs, "It's... nice teh meet ya... Ev'ryone..." He shifted on his apws nervously, unsure what else to say or do.

Naida sat down and laughed at both Nimbus and Daveigh's enthusiastic greetings. Looking to Arsenic, she answered his question first. "Well, he asked if he could visit the pride with me for awhile. He likes to travel, so I don't know exactly how he'll stay, but...well, that's up to him." She glanced and gave him a sheepish grin, remembering how nervous she was the first day she'd come to this pride. "That is, if it's okay with you guys," she finished, looking to Santos and Adia.

Something began to click in Santos' head and he lowered his head to the ground, tilting it to the side so Arsenic would slide off. "Nimbus take your brother and sister back to the cave and play with them until we get back," he nudged Nimbus on his way before looking back at Naida. "... He's more than a wanderer, is he not?" he asked when the cubs were far enough away.
Nimbus groaned. "Do I have to?!" he whined with his lip puffed out. When his father nudged him he reluctantly went on his way. The older lions always got to do the fun stuff.
Arsenic quickly followed his brother, not argueing at all. I didn't really mind that he was being pushed away from an important conversation. He was a kit, how could he help it any?

Adia looked over at Santos soon catching his drift and lowering her own head so that Daveigh could hop off. "Go with your brothers." Adia said giving Daveigh a light nuzzle and nudge before looking back up at Naida and Karuonos. Not being sure how long this conversation was going to last she sat down on her haunches and listened to Santos speak his bit on the goings.
Daveigh, like her brother, didn't well mind having to leave the conversation. They were probably about to get into boring issues that would more then likely put her to sleep anyway. Quickly she trotted to catch up with Nimbus and Arsenic and then came up on the opposite side of Nimbus from where Arsenic was.

Naida glanced over at Karounos, unsure of how to answer the question posed by Santos. She wanted to answer it, "Heck yeah!" but she knew it was more a question only he could answer. "I...I don't know to be honest..." She blushed lightly, looking back at the king and queen of her pride.

Karounos sat as well, wrapping his tail around the base of his paws, "Well..." he glanced at Naida. Oh, how he wanted ot stay! But... leaving his life as a wanderer would be hard. However, he could never think of asking her to leave her pride - and her family. "It's... uh... A little more complicated than that, yeh..." He shifted uncomfortably, "But... eh... I'm not sure how prides're... run. Or anythin' of that sort. So..." He tried his best to formulate an accurate answer that protrayed his feelings accurately, and he felt that he had done a good job... Or at least he hoped so...

Santos nodded and thought for a moment. "I thought so... You are welcome, wether you wish to be a guest or a full member. Just tell me what you'd like to do. Naida didn't know much about prides when she first came either so there is no need to be nervous or anything of that sort," he nodded his head, looking to Adia for her confirmation on what he had just said.

Adia found the hestitation from Karuonos and Naida as well rather cute but kept it well hidden. When Santos looked to her for confirmation she smiled and nodded. "Yes. You are welcome here with open paws for however long you wish to stay." Adia said making sure her smile was warm and welcoming. It was always better to make sure that the new ones always felt welcome or they could much less leave feeling unwelcome which was never good.

Karounos bowed his head deeply, letting parts of his mane come near sweeping across the ground, "Thank ya very much... I'm sure I'll... like it here..." He deeply hoped he hadn't gotten himself in over his head... what if he didn't like pride life and ended up wanting to leave? That would mean leaving Naida behind... Could he really ask himself to do that? But could he ask himself to stay here if he didn't like it?

Naida grinned ear to ear, though in her heart she still felt a pang of sadness. She feared he wouldn't stay, but she refused to give up hope. She could tell, though, he was still very nervous, and leaned against him, hoping to give him some sense of reassurance that he would be just fine.
((*waves paw to make time pass* 4laugh ))
Some time had passed since that fateful day that brought Karounos and Naida together and to the Rose Petal Pride. They were laying together just outside the cave watching the cubs play before them, Santos and Adia not too far away. Yiska had come to check in with the pride, and left just as quickly...as mysterious as ever, but she loved him like he was her own son.
She also grew to love Karounos more and more with each passing day. He'd fit in nicely with Santos and Adia's playful ways, and the cubs adored him as cubs usually will. She knew he was the perfect mate for her, and would follow him to the ends of the earth if he ever asked her to. Nuzzling his cheeck with her own, she asked, "Are you happy here?"

Karounos had been expecting this question since he had come here... Either form Adia or Santos or from Naida herself. He wanted so badly to avoid it, but knew that if he didn't answer it now, he would have to answer it later.
With a reluctant sigh, he watched the cubs play for a moment, focusing his mind and gathering his thoughts. Did he like it here? Of course, espcially because Naida was here. He loved being around the cubs, and Santos and Adia were very kind and charming. It was obvious to his heart that if he didn't stay here, he would wander for the rest of his life. and it was also clear that if he chose to stay, he would never wander aimlessly again. This thought frightened the young adult, and he dreaded this outcome in that sense. But if he did choose to stay, he would be able to live with Naida, and that thought filled him with a sense of pride and love.
So the real question was this: Was he going to stay, or was he going to leave?
"Naida... I..." he sighed, closing his eyes, trying to find the right words...

Naida looked at him, his hesitation speaking volumes to her. Laying her head on her paws, she remained silent, though a tear streaked down one side of her face as her heart broke because she knew that if she was right, she'd have to give up either her pride or being with him. She had hoped she'd never have to make that choice, though her heart knew who it was she'd choose.
