The stake was buried almost to the hilt in the vampires chest. Black blood pumped out of the wound and was pouring down it's chest. The dirty jacket it wore turned even darker with the flow of dead blood.
"Dude" Alec said as the vampire clutched at it's heart. "You are so fugly." With that he raised the crossbow again and put a loading it quickly he put a second stake into the vampires brain. It fell over and spasmed on the floor.
"Thanks for covering me Reiku. I might have been the one needing the mojo juice if you hadn't been so fast. Did you get the other one?"

He shock his head." It got away... I was to slow we better get going and fast some proply heard this gun fire.." He walked down the stairs and looked at the picture of god and mary." Wil get them for you mom we will...." He thought to him self not wanting to ay anything to Alec about there mothers death by a demon.

"Freakin loser." Alec said and kicked the now dead vampire. "Well I hope the other one is harder to kill. That was just easy."
Coming down the stairs behind Reiku he smiled. "Place actually feels better already. Now that we got rid of the evil here. I doubt that second one will return. Probably find another nest to sleep during the day."
As they headed out the door he reloaded the crossbow just in case and looked over the parking lot. It was still foggy and vacant but there was a feeling of urgency.
"You want to go after it on foot or in the 'Vette?" Thinking it over he went on,"Better move the car. If someone see's it there might be trouble."

He steped out of the church and yawned." Will move on It's heading for its base it woult return its going to warn its batty friends about us will head into town for the night we need to make a plan where going to be on this trail plus see whats up with this towns rich ghostly history." He got in the passanger seat." Oh and alec your driving." He grabed his hat and put it over his eyes.

Pulling out his set of keys he grins. No prob bro. Get some rest, I'll find us a place to crash and store our wheels.
Pulling onto the road they disappeared into the ground fog around the place. With the first one out of the way it was only a matter of time before they'd get the rest.
Glowing eyes watched them from the tree line. They stared until the car was gone and then moved off into the forest unseen.

The hum of the motor made reiku fall asleep he had a dream the night when the darkly demon appered.... "REIKU! GET YOUR BROTHER AND GET OUT OF THE HOUSE!!" Yelled there father as he ran into there parents room. "DAD! WHATS GOING ON!!" He ran into alec's room and grabed his little brother who was fastly asleep." AGHH! GET GOING NOW!!" Reiku ran into there parents room to see there mother on the ceiling and there father holding a sawed off shot gun he fired it and reiku rushed down stairs as he heard the shot go off he open the door and as he got out of the house he,alec where pushed by there father as the house exploded into flames. (end of dream) He sat up in a cold sweat he looked over at alec who was still driving he took a breath and thought to himself." How am I going to tell him want happened to mom... pop told me to tell him she was killed in a car crash but he needs to know the truth... pop sead he had a gift but he hasnt showed it man...... " he looked at alec. " How far are we from the town.." His voice sounded shakey.

Alec grinned and looked over at him.
"About 5 miles." he answered,"I saw a motel on the way in. I figure we'll be safer out here than inside city limits."
Pulling into the parking lot he backed the Sting Ray into a spot near an empty room. They checked in quietly using a fake ID and unloaded a few things into the room.
"Hey man. Thanks for covering me back there. If it hadn't been for you I might have been fang tartar."

He nodded and got out bring in the books and the newspapers." no problm alec but right now we got vampires we need to slay.." He sat down on the bed and open up the book." it says here a young boy died from a strange attack and it was consider his sister did it but there was same mark but with there tringels around the main fang area." He layed back." I say we rest tonight then head out in the mourning to find this batty hell." He laughed a bit. " hungry? Im in the mood for some chinese."

He threw his jacket at the table and watched it fall on the floor. "yeah, I could eat."
Ordering delivery they looked over the papers awhile waiting for it to arrive. When it finally did the delivery guy brought it to the door and then took off.
"Dude... rice? I said I wanted noodles... NOODLES!"

He bursted out laughing he got p and walked over to the delvire man. " Alec there are noodles in the bag jeez...." He handed the guy a 20 bucks and brought the food over to the table. " So have you spoken with the chick back in austin?" He started to bust his chomps." You and her where geting along good wherent ya?" He took a bite of his chiken.

Pulling out the chicken lomein he grinned and dug in with a plastic fork.
"Her... Lisa.. yeah." his mood turned fowl in a blur. "Yeah, we were good I guess. I don't know though. After all that business with the fire I guess she just wanted more. I gave her a ring a few days ago and all I could get was an answering machine."
He shrugged. "Hey, they'll be others. It's not like I'm whipped or anything."
Staring into the container of noodles and chicken he kept on frowning. "Anyway, what about you and that hotty from Oregon? You heard from her any?"

His face went red and he smiled." She called when you where sleeping she sead shes on her way to new york and shes gonna try to catch up with us soon after school and all. Ya " He took a sip of his coke and looked out the window. " This is so good!!" He sead laughing.

Alec pointed at him and made a sour face. "You suck."
Finishing off his noodles he grabbed a phone book off the bed side table.
"Didn't that article say the young boys last name was Herchel? I wonder how many Herchel's are in the phonebook."
He stopped and grinned. "Bingo, just one. Wanna go visit that sister in the morning?"

He smiled." Ya im geting tired a bit." He jumped on the bed and closed his eyes. "oh and alec your chick is somewhere here." He closed his eyes and fell asleep.

Rolling his eyes he grabbed a pen and wrote down the address out of the phonebook. Sticking the peice of paper in his wallet he leaned back on the other bed in the room and turned off the lights.
In the dark both of them slept soundly. Occasionally the hum of car engines could be heard from outside but nothing seemed to wake them. In a deep quiet place Alec dreamed of a girl. She was running from him and he was chasing. He could see her long black hair bouncing in the air but never her face. He raced on after her, never gaining, never loosing her.
The sound of an alarm clock brought him around a few hours later. A DJ was claiming the wonderful power of energy drinks and quickly went into a loud and obnoxious song.
If you want it right now, you gotta... take her out... cocaine...
Alec slapped the alarm clock off the nightstand and it died quietly on the floor.
"Man, I hate Eric Clapton." He looked over at his brother on the other bed,"Hey....HEY wAKE Up!"
