snutmeg In my school last year we had 8 oboes!!! I think I speak for everyone when I say this: Holy s**t. Up until this year (after me teaching a clarinet player how to play), there has only ever been one oboist per band. Actually...per two bands... I FINALLY AFTER ALL THESE YEARS IN CONCERT BAND HAVE A SECTION MEMBER!!! (But I guess it's ok. I belong to five other sections are far as marching band is concerned. ^^)

So much double reed lurve!
I play bassoon. Started in the 5th grade, and I'm now a freshman in HS. So yeah,...
During Marching season, I play tenor sax. I laugh at all you people who say you're in the pit. We don't have a pit! We're MILITARY. >.> We scoff at core bands...
But yay?

Hansuke_Mitsui So much double reed lurve! I play bassoon. Started in the 5th grade, and I'm now a freshman in HS. So yeah,... During Marching season, I play tenor sax. I laugh at all you people who say you're in the pit. We don't have a pit! We're MILITARY. >.> We scoff at core bands... But yay? I play bassoon and I'm not in the pit either =) I play mellophone. go us.. we rock. lol

w00t! awesome! I just requested to join. I'm 1st chair oboe at my school. (but still not a great player, just better than the other three redface ) During marching season, I'm pit section leader and head of truck crew. But this is my senior year so no more! (sorry, i hate my directors, but love music, or woulda quit band for his year) Ummm, yeah. w00t! blaugh xp domokun

Um, yeah. w00t! back to military style marching!!! yayness! so, yeah. I'm a band nerd. Lol. Anyway, I'm excited. But I heard they don't have flutes, only piccolos so I might have to find one of those. I already own a flute, though. Hmmmm. I dunno *shrugs* but I'll find out more when I got to spend the night with the corps at the campus later this month. w00t!

soooo...how are you guys doin'? how's band. im in high school rolleyes still and we went back from winter break today. band was interesting, although i didnt play b/c my reeds havent come in yet. we were told not to sit by anyone who plays the same instruemnt. i was in percussion until he said percussion had to stand in the back and woodwinds had to sit.... stare i got stuck b/t two coronets/trumpets.
you know, imma senior and i dont know the difference b/t the two. lol

I got a solo! Can you believe. I'm happy, I've never gotten a solo in a piece before, may a duet or trio, but never a solo. I'm happy. Plus my rival has to sit there through it. Mwuhahaha.
