Today, many of the slang words in hebrew are either from arabic, russian or english. I wonder how that happened? rolleyes xd .

My friends here play a card game called... errr, another word for donkey then add the word "hole" xd . They don't even know what it means... it makes me grimace every time I hear "Yay! Now I'm the ----------". Actually I think the ORIGINAL name of the game was president... sweatdrop . I'm tired of hearing everyone playing a game that it's name itself suggests a vulgar use of swear words xd .
president's fun smile

did you know that there is no hebrew word for "fun". the ivrit word "kef" is actually arabic. i think this says ALOT about jewish philosophy.

also, there is no english translation for the word "simcha".

Yes, it tells us we dont know how to have fun xd .

Simcha doesn't have a transelation in english? I thought simcha meant happiness... sweatdrop .

President is a fun game, just as long as they don't call it by the wrong name!

no, it tells us that we don't need to have fun. after all, what is fun? relaxation, happiness, those have a place. but fun? it's just a bit frivolous.

happiness is an approxamation. simcha is closer to bliss-tranquility-festivity. it's in the grey area of those words. think the best kabbalas shabbos you've ever had, and i assume in israel you've had a few good ones. that's simcha. but not really happiness. simcha transends happiness. ask you're rebbe about the simchas beis hasho'eivah. i'm sure you've heard of it.

I know all about it. It is said that one who has not seen "simhas beis hasho'eivah" has not seen true simha in his life. I would have loved to go to the original one instead of the one we do at our yeshiva... Not that it's not great... It's just... not original? sweatdrop

please don't say that.

it really isn't fair to assume that someone is like a nazi, just because groups within their religion wish to kill us.

if we did use that logic, everyone would be an enemy. the christians have done more than their share of butchering, after all.

Actually, in the future (gog and magog, I beleive), everyone will be our enemy... so everyone is a potential enemy now that you think of it...

Imagine the worst think you can imagine, then double it, and add on a bit more. Now imagine something worse- that's only 1/60th of gog and magog xd .

Ok, on a more serious pan, I recall reading that a VERY large amount of the Jewish nation is going to die in that war.

nathan, that's in the future, not in the present.

it's also kabalah, which i like to stay away from discussing, because of the potential for misunderstanding.

now stop scaring him.

Sorry rolleyes . Notice I did say it was in the future sweatdrop ...

Actually, aharit hayamim, another stage of the comming of the messiah is mentioned in other places other than the kebbala, but is still a toutchy subject, since we know nearly nothing about it... the ramba"m has his opinions on the matter. We learned this in mahshevet, can you beleive people actually thought ramba"m was denying the ressurection of the dead...? Weird confused

Indeed, people are stupid. People thought the ramba"m was denying the ressurection of the dead because of missunderstandings. Some people heard him say something, they passed it along incorrectly in his name, and it continued on further like a broken telephone... It always happens that way... Sadly, has actually happened to me a few times sweatdrop .

So what do you do when people are stupid? You just be smarter to even out the balance! 3nodding
