I doubt they'll be adding any new features anytime soon. There's talk about implementing a mass PM system so that the crew can PM all guild members at once, but I wouldn't hold my breath on that one.
It does seem a waste that all you can buy with the guild account is more subforums.

I think there's a petition for more features for the Guilds. I wish they'd do that instead of this crazy e-mail thing I've been seeing everyone howl about in SF the past couple of days. My new mule has spaces in his name & I'd just as soon keep them. He's to be the Owner of the guild I'm plotting out on paper.
It would be great if they would allow more customization of Guild appearance--with all the talent we have here, we'd have this place looking totally spiff in no time!

seffy_chan Ceribri Enjou_Garyuu I demand more stuff about who the actors were, and I think it would be cool if you kind of made a fourm about places you can go to descus stuff about Doctor who, and not just on gaia, like on other websites, or even at conventions. Well, erm..I'm going to be polite and not demand, mrgreen but that does sound like a good idea. As long as it is made clear that the no-bashing rule still applies (please). That way we could have a sub-forum for the actors, and one thread each for each actor who has played the Doctor, and perhaps a few extras for the more favorited companions like Sarah Jane and Romana and Rose, and Jack, even. (not that that's it, just that's all I can think up at the moment). And we could use that to talk about other roles that those actors have done, and we would learn a bit of trivia on our favorite actors as well! Not necessarily a mini-biography, just what else they've acted in and stuff about them. razz After all, in another one of these stickys/announcements, seffy-chan said that we don't need people donating gold since we've got nothing to use it on, so perhaps just one more sub-forum? And maybe even do a contest to promote whatever you mods think up. That would be fun, and increase activity for whatever... 3nodding Its not that we've got nothing to use it on.. Its just that the only thing we CAN use it on is to buy more subforums. We cannot take the gold out of the funds. Its impossible. If we could I would have Given back to the people who first donated for the guild and used the rest for contests. If you guys want more sub-forums then its no problem.. just prove that at least half of the users would use it and then talk to the other mods. Okay, I see your point. That is a nusiance, seeing as how since we can't take it out, it's just sitting there. Otherwise contests would be a great idea.

I would go for a sub-forum about the actors except that we already have one for the Classic Series AND NO-ONE USES IT. Which means that either a) An Actor sub-forum wouldn't be used either or b) It would only be used for Tennant squee-ing threads... which we have anyway and don't need a whole sub-forum. Sorry Ceribri.
On the other hand, I think a campaign of advertising of our current sub-forums would be quite a good idea. If we can get them to be more noticed and better used then creating more sub-forums afterwards would be great. And also (not sure how but...) a bit of a reorganisation of the RP/Games sub-forum would probably be a good idea, just so that people can find and play stuff easier. Perhaps seperating RP and Games? Not sure about that. But we are getting more people joining in with the games now.
Anyway... just thought I'd share my thoughts. I'll have a think over them and see if I can come up with some actually helpful and/or interesting suggestions!

Shut me up if this has been suggested already but I was just reading through the No Spam sticky - and everyone's comments about spoilers and different countries wanting to start their own newer threads etc - well... I wouldn't normally suggest this, but since we have so much extra gold that we can't get at and it would help with spam/spoilers... how about we have a sub-forum for each country? Or at least ones for America, Australia and Canada (unless Australia and Canada get Who at the same time, in which case they can be one...).
I would suggest keeping the main forum as Britain, though you could give it a seperate sub-forum too. Only it is the most uptodate country so it doesn't really make much odds.
Obviously you'd still have to enforce spoiler warnings in the titles but that way people can start up threads to discuss the episodes that have just started in their country without having to either a) dig out the old UK thread or b) start a repeat thread because it would be within their own forum.
Not explaining very clearly, I know. But what do you think?

I don't really like the idea of creating new subforums, mainly because I think most of them will quickely end up becoming dead quiet, as not many people would use them.
It might be a good idea for the guild to decide upon some sort of Spoiler policy. Although, let's face it... discussion about any story is bound to be a spoiler for someone (younger viewers may not have seen many of the classic series episodes, for example). As it stands, I only thwack people for failing to put spoiler tags on details that haven't aired anywhere yet (e.g. 'Martha is pregnant with the Face of Boe's child in the season finale!'). But if the consensus is that we should avoid spoiling those outside the UK, the question becomes when should it finally become acceptable to stop using spoiler tags? After it airs in Australia/Canada/United States? A full year after it first shows in the UK? Whatever the policy is, it should to be fair to all guild members, and not just those in any specific country.
Also, I think the Torchwood subforum should be expanded to include all past, present, and future spin-offs, such as The Sarah Jane Smith Adventures or K-9 and Company. It doesn't make sense to make new subforums for those shows, and yet they don't quite fit in the main forum.

Two things.
1. Fanfiction Contest - Who can write the best fanfiction about the same subject?
2. MORE ADVERTS - Go out and tell people about the guild! Better yet, tell people about Doctor Who! No one wants to join a guild when they know nothing about the subject. That's like me joining an Inuyasha guild! *pokes* I'd have no fun because I know nothing of the subject.
