[Dammit, I just missed the... 'Other' stuff... That could have been a great entrance post... Sorry I haven't been on, guys. V_V Major writer's block... I don't know if you guys are still on or if this RP has died, so...]
Dai huffed as she came back, her arms laden down with clothes. On top of them, balanced carefully, were Gallen's shoes. She'd dropped by the beach to grab them. Glancing down at the assorted, nondescript sweatshirts and pants, she smiled half-heartedly. It was so typical of her mother to pack her so many clothes, which made it easy picking things out - After all, she was about Jordan's size, and the baggyness of her clothes helped their slight height difference. Her legs felt heavy; she supposed it was from the running, but it felt so good to move again! She continued onto Jordan's duplex, quickly glancing at the numbers. Which one was it? She bit her lip, cursing her poor memory. Err... She heard talking from one of them. One of them was definitely Gallen's voice - She'd recognize it anywhere. There was a pause, and Dai, out of curiousity, pressed her shrunken ear towards the door and listened in.
"Ye seem chipper, come ta terms ah see... Ye sure, ah mean, well, you were pretty shook up." "Oh man! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to sound like I wanted you to go away. I'm just feeling better after putting things into perspective. You're welcome to stay for a while. Please don't feel rushed to leave."
Dai frowned. Jordan sounded apologetic... Why? Backing away and knocking on the door with her knuckles, said through the door, "I got the clothes. Can I come in?"

Jordan jumped, startled at the knock. Who could that that be? His internal question had been answered immediately and he gasped, slapping his hand to his face.
“We forgot about Dai!” he rushed to the door, greeting his guest into his quarters. “Oh wow! Thanks, Dai! I’m sorry if we got too far ahead of you.” Jordan helped her out with the clothing and set it down in a heap at the foot of his bed. “Wow.. I’m so glad you showed up with some extra clothing. I’d have to wash this outfit everyday if it weren’t for your generosity. What a pain that’d be.” He hugged her. “Really, thank you.” He felt like a kid in a candy store as he looked through some of the clothing. Beggars couldn’t be choosers, not that he was disappointed by any of it. He was simple enough to please. As long as it breathed well and left some room to move in, it was plenty fine.
“Well, this is my room for the duration of my stay. It’s cozy, but I like it. It’s got that homey feel. It just needs a microscope, some slides to view, and maybe some beakers and a centrifuge, but other than that, it’s a pleasant get-a-way from life.” He chuckled as he reminisced about his laboratory station layout. “This may be a beautiful vacation spot, but it’s going to get to me if I don’t get something to work on. I’m not used to simply relaxing on a beach… I’ve got to keep busy or I’m going to go stir crazy.”
Jordan had to sit down, taking a seat on his bed. Though spiritually he was feeling better, his body still felt the stress of the day. “Wow… that was sudden… I was feeling great and then ‘BAM!’.” He wiped his brow with his forearm. “I’m okay.. just need to sit for a few minutes. Please, stay for a bit. We can talk, rest, maybe find somewhere else to explore. Once I feel better, I’m not sure I’m going to want to sit idly.”
Jordan smiled graciously as their host. “Please. Make yourself at home while you’re my guests.”

Dai returned the hug before he broke away and sat on the bed. "It's really no problem, I have too many clothes to count." Sitting on a nearby chair, she suddenly grimaced. "My legs feel so tired..." She paused to stretch them out, but then added, "But I suppose it's all the running I've done, it's no real worry." She motioned toward the shoes near the doorway that Jordan had set down to look at the clothes. "I got your shoes from the beach, Gallen. They're all wet and sandy, though." She smiled apologetically and laced together her fingers, setting them into her lap as she listened to Jordan with polite interest, occasionally shifting in her seat. After he was done, she asked, "You want me to get anything from the cafeteria? There's some snacks in the minifridge, but they're not as good compared to caf' food."

Jordan smiled at Dai's generous offer to do a 'chow run'. "I wouldn't want to put you out if you're hurting. Trust me, right now, I'm right there with you." he shifted his body, hearing various pops in sore parts. His stomach gurgled loudly and he tried to ignore it and hoped it hadn't been so obvious to the other two. He hadn't eaten and the mention of food caused his body to focus on that fact.
"Are you sure you don't mind? I'm sorry.. I didn't think I was so hungry..." he laid back and stared at the ceiling "Hmmmmm... actually... I'd love a sandwich.. maybe turkey or tuna... make that two, I may want one for later... and some water."
He glanced over at Gallen, wondering what he'd do now that his sandals had been brought to him. Jordan was hoping htis wouldn't become an awkward situation. He didn't want to put anyone out. Jordan was one individual who strived to avoid confrontation, while trying to make everyone happy. He was feeling a bit nervous as it got quiet for those following moments.

Gallen smiled as he retrieved his shows and then sat down on a chair. His pants where still damp, but it was not a big deal. he smiled at Dai and then looked back at Jordan. "Ah can get the food, you guy's relaxed." He pulled on his shoes and started out the door. "Besides the way to the cafeteria is on the way past me room, ah can change clothes there." He rushed out the door to his room and then to get food.

Dai looked at Gallen as he crossed the room, then called as he closed the door, "Just a couple of seeds or nuts please, I don't care what kind. Thanks..." Sinking more into her chair, she sighed and looked at the windowglass dazedly, her eyes following the small specks of dust that filtered through the last rays of sunlight. A few moments passed. "So..." Her mind lazily flicked through topics worthy of discussion, but it was more half-hearted than anything else. "What do you think you're gonna turn into?"

Perhaps the answer should have been obvious, but it hadn't come to him. Was he even ready to buy into this whole story, despite testimony and proof sitting across the room from him? Maybe Dai always had a long neck and imagined this island scare in a nightmare and passed that hysteria on to Gallen. He rolled his neck and rubbed the back of it.
"I have no clue." Jordan stated matter-of-factly. "As I see it, there may be no deifinite guarantee that I am going to transform into some beast. If I do my job and do it well, then no one will have any qualms on my part." Jordan gave new meaning to denial. He had ot be strong before he succumbed to the same disillusionment his current company appeared to suffer from. It would be best not to agitate them about it, lest they become defensive, if not violent. He could at least humor them for the time being. "I'm not sure what I would become. Forgive me, what did you say you were becoming.. on the beach? I'm sorry for being a bit absent-minded about that. I believe Gallen said he mentioned he's becoming some sort of feline?"

Gallen rushed down the dirt path to his Duplex. He felt bad for Jordan, a man so loyal to his job and will go as far as to deny the obvious. As Gallen entered his room he quickly striped down, checked himself over, "Nope notion as changed yet, thank god" and dressed in clean, dry clothes. Soon he was out and on his way to the Cafeteria.
He ran in and grabbed a few tuna sandwiches, some packs of trail nix and a Portabella mushroom sandwich. Soon he was off and back to Jordan’s room.

Now it was Dai's turn to hesitate. "I really don't know. I only turned last night, I was in denial as well before... Well, I changed. I think I'm some kind of bird - I've recently taken to nuts and seeds. I don't like chicken anymore, or duck." She looked at Jordan with her large eyes. "My best guess is some kind of vulture or long-necked bird, one of the islanders is a vulture and she has a long neck too. But that doesn't explain my legs being so strong..." She trailed off, twiddling her fingers. "I was a doctor before this too..." Her voice was small and sad. Sighing in an effort to stop her throat from knotting up, she made an effort to turn the subject to something less emotional. "So, um, you like chemistry?"

He listened respectfully, wondering what it must be like for her to be changing into a bird. That seemed unpleasant to him, but then again, changing into anything at all came across as unpleasant. She was definitely off from the typical human body, but did that mean she was actually becoming something less than human? He felt like he’d been stranded in the middle of the Twilight Zone. This was so strange. He rationalized her appearance to recessive traits that had become dominant through mutation. Not having known her before now, that appeased his him.
“You were a doctor?” his ears picked up on that in particular “That’s fantastic, though I never made it that far. It had been my life-long goal to become a veterinarian. I’m not complaining about being an assistant. I’ve been quite happy with the way my life has progressed lately.” He was interrupted by his rumbling stomach. “Oh, chemistry? I had to learn it.. though it’s not my strongest area of expertise.” He was being modest by comparison to his other professional skills. His stomach growled again and he laid back, rubbing his stomach gently, tilting his head to the side, smiling at his guest. “Which branch did you work at?” he assumed she too had been a Feral employee.

Gallen rushed in with a smile on his face and food in his hands, "lunch is served!!! trail mix and nuts for my dear, and tuna for my new friend. And for me the vegetarian special." He handed out the food and sat down happily , biting into his portabella sandwich. "So what ye two been talking about while ah was gone?"

"Oh, I thought because you wanted those beakers and microscopes that you were a chemist. I'm not good at chemisty myself, math's never been kind to me..." Dai twiddled her thumbs again. "And, er, I didn't work at Feral. Most big companies turned me down because of, ah, my disability... So I was usually a family practitioner in small clinics." The opening of the door caused her head to jerk up - She gratefully took the bags of trail mix from Gallen and smiled. "Thanks, Gallen. I was getting hungry." Opening one of the bags with her hands, both could see that her pinkie and ring fingers has light fused together - There was a thin webbing of skin from finger tip to fingertip, steadily thickening until it was hard to see where it ended. After taking a handful of peanuts, she mumbled, "'e were 'alkin' abou' woaht 'hminals 'ere 'urnin' into." Swallowing hard and taking some more nuts, she laid them in her hand and started to judge them by size and salt consistancy, making the best ones to the left and the imperfect ones to the right. Taking the one at the end of the right, she crunched on it. "What do you think you're gonna turn into, Gallen?"

Jordan chuckled at the comment about the beakers and microscopes. Even though he said it wasn’t his strong point, he was being humorous but it hadn’t occurred to him that she may not have gotten that. Oh well. It wasn’t worth explaining.
"A doctor.. that's impressive. I can respect that a lot. Helping others is what makes it worthwhile."
When that door opened, his stomach growled louder and he knew food was moments away. His mouth watered as the heavenly smell of tuna hit his nose. He thankfully accepted the sandwiches and ravenously ate into one, wolfing it down with minimal chews.

Gallen sat on a chair as he started to eat, and nodding to the thanks he received. "Turing in to... Ah wa sunder the impressions ah was becoming some kind o feline. Aubery told me, but She would not tell me the species." He bit down on his vegetarian meal and chewed it happily. "So what ye two been talkin about?"
