Sakura entered the cafeteria, her green eyes scanning the room for any signs of Ino, but she saw no trace of the blond. She had lost her when Iruka dismissed the class. With a defeated sigh, she hung her head. "I guess.. I'll try and talk to her after school.."
Lifting her head once again, she looked around until she spotted Sasuke. Smiling, she quickly made her way over to him, eying the girls staring at him warily. "Hey, Sasuke-kun!" she greeted cheerfully, taking a seat in front of him as she set her lunch-box down in front of her.
Suddenly realizing that she hadn't even asked for his permission to sit with him, she softly questioned, "Do.. you mind if.. I eat lunch with you?"

Sasuke smiled when he saw Sakura. He turned to face her when she sat across from him.
"No, I don't mind. I was hoping I'd have someone to talk to anyway!" he exclaimed after he had swallowed a bite of his riceball. He scanned around for a bit, then looked back at Sakura with a confused face.
"Hey Sakura, don't you hang out with Ino a lot? I don't see her around."
His eyes widened, and he coughed a bit on his last bite of food.
"W-wait! Did you leave her behind to sit with me? You didn't have to leave her...she could sit with us, I guess."
Not realizing that he was just jumping to conclusions, he began to worry, "I don't want you to lost another friend because of me, you know?"

She nodded her head when he stated that he didn't mind, and opened her lunch-box, pulling out her own onigiri and a small container filled with water immediately after.
Just as she was raising the rice ball to her mouth, Sasuke spoke. She lowered her hand, staring at him curiously. Her head shook in response. "I didn't leave her.." she started, her gaze falling to her bottle of water sitting on the table. "She.. seemed to have left me. She's been acting weird around me all day."

"Hmphf," Sasuke mumbled, he mouth full of his riceball. He took a big gulp, and after a sip of water, he continued, "May she just isn't feeling well today? ...Or maybe something from at home upset her."
He took another sip of water, and gave her a cheery smile, "She'll be alright. If she really is your friend, then she'll tell you if something's up soon enough."

"I guess you're right.." she replied after a short moment of silence, a small smile gracing her lips before she bit into her rice ball, then took a simple sip from her water bottle.
After placing the bottle back down, she fixated her eyes on the boy in front of her. "Um, Sasuke-kun.. I was wondering.. what are you doing after school today?"

Sasuke put his finger to his chin, as if in thought about what his plans were after school, "Well," he started, "I guess I'll go and ask aniki to practice throwing shuriken with me, but..." his lip pounted and he looked away.
"I bet he's gonna poke me in the head and say 'Sorry, Sasuke, maybe next time!', just like he always does..." he said stubbornly, "So then," then continued, "I'll probably be doing nothing."
He was silent for a moment, before turning back to Sakura, "Why do you ask?"

A brown-haired Inuzuka padded softly into the lunchroom. His eyes unfocused as he analyzed the scents in the room. Rice, tomato, bottled water, milk, lettuce, beef- probably hot dogs, salmon, wood, several metals, paint, linolium, dirt, sweat, blood (Someone had a papercut), and various people-scents. Nothing odd. His head jerked as he recognized one person scent in particular.
The old lunch bat.
She hated Kiba.
She tried to put the school on a vegitarian diet. Thus, Kiba put raw eggs in her shoes so that when she left the building, she would step on the eggs and break them. It wasn't his fault. Not really.
The two glared at each other, and Kiba decided he'd better take a seat before she beat him with a ladel.
The tiny two-month-old puppy on his head yipped in agreement.
He looked around to the tables. There were two options- the table with the white-eyed Hyuuga freak, or the table with the Uchiha. He'd take the Uchiha. Hell, why not?
Hell. Hell was a funny word. He'd heard his mom say it yestereday. Maybe it was an adult thing.
Kiba plopped down in one of the seats without asking permision, and opened his bento lunch, which had a dog painted in laquer on the front, and the kanji for 'dog' next to it, of course...
And contained beef jerkey, an oversized roll with butter, a full chicken leg, and a sports drink, as well as a packet of special dog food. Inside was a hastily scribbled note.
"Kiba-chan,
Having a nice first day of school? I packed your favorite, and Akamaru's too.
Don't you dare do that to the lunch lady again, no matter how much she tries to stuff rabbit food down your throat.
Love, heart
Kaa-san"
Kiba smiled slightly, and looked up to the Uchiha. Might as well say somthing.
"So. Whacha got?"

Not long after Sakura opened her mouth to speak, a boy sat down in one of the seats at the table. She clamped her mouth shut almost immediately, eying him and recognizing him as Inuzuka Kiba.
She lowered her head. "I don't want to ask Sasuke-kun if he wants to come over if HE's here. Momma told me it's rude to invite someone to something in front of someone else, and not invite them, too.." She lifted her head and looked around the lunch room. "Now would be a good time to find Ino."
Without a word, she gathered her lunch and returned it to her lunch-box before rising from her seat. "Um, I'll.. talk to you later, Sasuke-kun. I'm gonna see if I can find Ino now." With a small bow directed at both boys, Sakura walked away from the table and out of the cafeteria, seeing as how she had already visually examined the room and found no trace of her friend.
The pink-haired girl figured the school courtyard would be the next best place to look, even though all students in her class were supposed to be in the cafeteria at that time. And as she thought about it, she recalled not seeing Naruto in class. She sighed and shook her head. "He probably skipped again."

Sasuke raised an eyebrow at the Inuzuka boy as he sat down at the table. Sasuke couldn't believe that some people would actually have the nerve to interrupt a conversation like that.
"How rude..." he thought.
"Um, I'll.. talk to you later, Sasuke-kun. I'm gonna see if I can find Ino now."
"Oh, um..." he started, as she got up, "Good luck, Sakura!" He waved to the girl, and when she left, turned to the other boy.
"So. Whacha got?"
Sasuke, assuming that the boy meant food, looked down at his meal.
"Water, riceballs, and a tomato," he said in a tone as if it were so obvious. He took another bite of his riceball, and looked over at Kiba's bento, "You?"

Naruto ran inside the cafeteria with his lunch. He sat down at an empty table (since no one wanted to sit with him anyway) and wiped the sweat off his forehead. "Hopefully no one noticed I missed morning class by accident." He placed his lunch on his table and smiled. Instant ramen. Mmm. Even if instant ramen wasn't the real thing and it wasn't as good as the ramen from Ichikaru, Naruto couldn't survive without it.
"Itadakimasu," he said to himself and peeled off the cover. Then he frowned. Infront of him was a cup full of uncooked noodles and vegetables. Of course, Instant ramen needed boiled water and the last time Naruto asked the cafeteria lady for boiled water, she said no. (Maybe because Naruto called her an 'Old Lady')
Naruto smacked his head and sighed. "Dattebayo," he whined.

Sasuke heard a whine coming from a table nearby. He turned his head, and his eyebrown rose when he saw Naruto sitting by himself.
He could only see the cup of ramen, so he didn't know that inside it was uncooked noodles. From Sasuke's point of view, Naruto was just actiong crazy.
"Tch. What's his problem?" he mumbled to himself. He never turned his head back to his meal. The young Uchiha was never a very nosy person, but Sasuke was just curious. He looked on at the blonde boy, hoping to find out what his whining was about.

"Dattebayo"
"Hmmm Neji did you hear that?" asked a curious Tenten. She turned to Naruto who was grumbling something about not having hot water and ramen.
'Well he could've gotten water if he hadn't called the lunch lady an old lady.'
After finishing his riceball Neji turned to look where Tenten was looking. He glanced over her lunch and saw some sushi and while Tenten wasn't looking swiped a piece that was in front of her and quickly ate it contently.
'Tenten's mom always packs good sushi!' he thought
"Neji, you could've asked!" an exasperated Tenten said.
Every week it was always like this. Tenten and Neji would sit together at lunch. Then something would happen that causes Tenten to look away, giving Neji enough time to swipe one of her rolls. Of course Tenten didn't mind much.
Later as the two were eating quietly, they heard a faint, "NEJI! TENTEN!"
'And here comes Lee...' both of them thought

Saa, lemme join!
Lee set his tray down on Neji and Tenten's table. "Hey, Neji, Tenten, guess what?"
Neji raised an eyebrow, while Tenten cocked her head to the side in curiosity. "What is it, Lee?"
"That role model I told you about? I met him again, by the corridor!" He was bouncing in his seat with excitement. "He said... what was that he said...? Oh yeah! He was signing up to be a jounin instructor!"
"So?" Neji asked, nibbling on the takoyaki he had "borrowed" Tenten, ignoring the glare of the twin-bunned girl.
"He said he'd like to teach me one day!" Lee cried, his eyes shining. "He's so cool! And he said the coolest thing too!"
"Which is?"
"Your happiness shines with the power of youth!!!" Lee replied. "That was the coolest thing I've heard in my entire life!"
Neji and Tenten looked at each other inquisitively, wondering what to say. Lee didn't seem to mind them, only daydreaming about when he'd meet his hero again.

(Thanks, glad to be here. No one seems to like the cafiteria lady, eh? She must be quite disagreeable.)
The boy grinned toothily, revealing a missing canine tooth, and was apparenly oblivious to the fact he'd just driven away the pink haired girl. "Beef jerkey, a roll, and chicken. Akamaru has his special food." He carefully poured the moist mix into a shallow bowl that was in his lunch box, and the puppy jumped off his head and onto the table, knocking Sasuke's tomato out of the way. Akamaru proceeded to eat greedily, and Kiba followed his example.
"Woof!"
"Yeah, I'm starffd'oo. 'ow sit?" Kiba inquired, with a mouthfull of chicken.
"Grurruf!"
"Same." Suddenly, Kiba looked up at Sasuke, as if expecting an answer to a question only he has heard.
