Her eyes thanked the gnome, though her mouth did not speak a word. She continued to work out her hair as she listened to his never ending rambles. Never had she met such a talkative fellow... It was odd to hear someone speak so freely. She was so used to the silent type, the type that only spoke when they needed an assassin for hire. It was a truly odd thing to have such an animate character in the midst of Giis City. The place was crawling with stink and treachry. With its huge black market that spenned the entire sewer system and into the odd formations that Caritel's Sinkhole made, Giis City was a prime place for illegal activity. And the quiet type of people. She knew that this talkative fellow would be most prone to being stabbed, should he keep his mouth open in a place such as this. Always some sort of bounty and always blood thristy spirits to fill them. She stowed away her small brush and began to pull up her hair into a pony tail.
"True, should you try and tie me up, I would be forced to kill you. And you do not have much in the way of armor. Your neck is well over exposed and your heart, I can hear it beating from over here. You may seem aware, but with your given tendency to talk so much, will you really be alert enough to realize a trained assassin behind you? Would you be able to smell the beast before it strikes? Science and knowledge won't save your instincts. And trust me, I'll sleep elsewhere." She smiled slightly as she began to rebraid her soft hair. She rose with the gentle grace of a swan and glided over to her gloves, never making a sound on the creaky wooden floor. Her head lowered slightly as she musied herself with her gloves. As the gnome continued his words, she realized that she would have to explain a few things that she did not want to.

"I suppose, on some level, you deserve to know. But, let us wait for the werewolf to return before I explain those things, hmm? No use in repetition."
She trailed over to her cloak and drew the letter from its inner pockets. It was a cream colored paper, stained with a dark red color and sealed with wax. The design in the wax, she remembered from a long ago journey... It was a finely crafted winged sandel, surrounded by a wreath of leaves. She carefully tore it open and turned back to the gnome to find him assuming a position of a fight. For a second, her eyes examinded him in confusion. Then, she realized that may have to explain one part of herself, "Since the attack, I had been following you two. I had hoped for a more peacful encounter, but with the demon and the hunters, my chances at making my appearence had been limited. I desire no duel with you. Surely you know that the winner would be obvious, though." She raised an eyebrow and, trusting that the gnome would understand her intense dislike of combat at the moment, turned her attention to the letter. Its contents made both of her eyebrows raise towards the ceiling.

while everything was going on, all she could do was slightly blush feeling his hand on her back and then with his guiding she had left for the stairs, leading everyone, bu only she and Leon would go into the room. She locked the door, so that no one would walk in, they would have to kick the door down. She placed her things down on the bed... She watched his movements carefully.

She had sat down as he took off the robe and she watched him each time. She felt like a curious cat. She went through her back and she checked everything.. She pulled the stone off, and she placed it down next to the bag, letting her fingers trail over the stone mesmerized by the color. Then she realized that...

She ran he figners through her hair pulling it back from her face, ands he pulled off her jewelery and the pulled off the boots. She ten rolled on the balls of her feet flexing her calfs. She moved her arms in a criss cross and she tugged up the tighter top, letting her chest go bare and then she pushed down on the skirt letting it slide over her thighs and she stepped out. She padded over to the bathroom, her steps were so light that they were unheard. She moved her hand to the door and she pushed it open.

The bathroom was medium sized. She looked over to the curtain and she tilted her head some and she took a cloth that had been hanging. There was steam building up, the heat in the room was rising by the minute. She pushed the curtain aside some, and her blue eyes softned as she saw his back. She sighed, seeing that it had to hurt. She slipped into the shower with him the curtian closed behind her. She felt the water start to splash up against her and she moved her hand to his right shoulder. "Let me get your back..." She spoke softly, just enough to be heard over the water stream and she put some soap on the clothing and she gently started to clean off the bite mark on his left shoulder...

Noice from the water beating down upon his back was the only thing he heard before she entered the shower from behind. He had his eyes closed and hands rubbing the bald head of his. He was exhausted from everything that's happened and would need to get some rest soon if they were to travel at all in the morning. With her behind him, moved his head slightly to the side to get an outline of her figure behind him. She wasn't wearing anything to his amazement. "Thank you for your offer. I'd like for you to clean my back very much. I've been through quite a bit and as you can see my body is proof of it." A hand extended to the lever that allowed the hot water to continue pouring on him and pretty soon she would have been completely soaked as well.

With her soft touch to against his skin, he felt so tense with the muscles of his body being as exhausted as they were. Leon seemed to be deep in thought about what he's going to do next time he changes; which will be in about a mouth. "Make me a promise. That if I change next time into it, that you and the others will personally take preventive measures to stop me. I don't want to take life more than I have too." With that said, he turned around slightly to look at her face and smiled slightly. She could notice his fatigued state by looking at his eyes. For a thirty-one year old, he sure did attract some of the most beautiful women and some of the more exotic ones as well.

A hand raised to one of her cheeks and he smiled brighter to her. With his piercing blue eyes looking directly into her own. He turned back around with his back turned so she could continue. He was cleaning his frontal areas of the body that make what a man is all about amoung a lot of his frontal wounds on his upper body. The wound on his leg he tended to quickly, but there wasn't much there since Bartle's healing potion regenerated most of it from the science bottle.

She smiled at him listening and staring at his back. She took good care to be gentle and make sure it was clean. She blinked and blushed when he turned around and then even more so when he touched her cheek. "Now now... whoever said I was going to be joining you're little trio?" She laughed some as she moved to clean the gash. She was sure he would sleep well tonight. Most of them would. She nodded some as she smiled still concentrating. She knew what she had done was a bold move, but after all he was a Monk.

After a bit... He was all cleaned and ready for the spell and bandaging. She movedher hand over and she turned off the water. She slipped out pulling a larger towel around her body, and then handed him one. After he wrapped himself in the towel. She waved him out, "Come come... I have a spell to quicken your healing process." She pulled the bathroom door open and she walked out. She pulled her hair away she changed into her clothing again butth boots. ands he started to dry her hair. once he came out.. She asked him to stand.

She pushed her palms together and she pulled out her staff... She then startedto chant softly, waving the staff around him as she slightly danced around her form... Soon she closed the staff vanished admist sparkles...(to lazy to type detail)

"If you sit... I can put the bandages on you..." When he sat she crawled around the bed to his back and she started to dress him.

When the cleansing was completed and she left him in the bathroom he would leave the room dried and with his royal monk pants on. As the spell was cast, he could feel the broken ribs start to subside the throbbing pain he was having. This was the source of him coughing earlier when they first met. He breathed easlier with his ribs ceasing to give him a constant annoying pain. Leon sat at the bed side and she crawled around behind him to wrap his wounds. It reminded him almost of his mother wrapping his fathers wounds after he destroyed a powerful creature that attacked the temple long ago. As the memory was a good one for him to remember in the condiction he was in, it left a nice warm smile on his face.

When she was all done bandaging his wounds, he turned his head to give her a look of approval. "Thanks you for your kindness and offer. You did a very good job bandaging my wounds." And with that he stood up with his hand holding her own and like his master at the temple had tought him to have manners, he gently kissed her hand then let go of it so he could put the rest of his royal attire on. Positioning his clothing on his body, he tucked his white under shirt into his pants and turned around. The clothing looked multi-layered from first glance and turned around for her approval. "I do claim these clothes make a the illusion of me being rich dispite the lack of coin I carry with me. Let's go next door to Bartle and Ray and talk. I have some things to ask all three of you and then I'll need to catch some rest. The only question then would be where am I to sleep and where would Ray get to sleep. Something we can work out with them once we get over there. So shall we get going?"

(this is.. going to be horridly short... I'm exhausted -_- ))

Diana smiles at him after everything happened and she nodded "Sure." Taking up her bag, she blinked and grabbedher stone putting it back around her neck and she trotted after him out the room. They headed down the hall and she blinked at Leon knocked on the door to the other room that contained the gnome and drow. She poked at her hair some as it dried and she shifted waiting for the door to open, letting her eyes shift around.

Beezlebum eyed the drow warily for a moment more before relaxing his grip on his sword and returning to setting up his equipment mumbling about drow trickery. "First off, Ray, I'd like to say that a duel between us would end in you being splattered along a wall, floor or cieling, depending on if you side-rolled, ducked down, or jumped when I threw my potion. Of course, right now you would have had the upper hand; I, like a wizard, need time to prepare myself for a battle, though I myself am far more capable than a wizard, who relies on the intricate mysteries of the unpredictable arcane; you having the upper hand had no influence on my choice to not duel you though, this room is not mine and I would be loathe to repair the damages I would cause. Second, I think you not telling me about your purpose is merely a ruse to give you time to think up a clever drow lie to tell the lot of us, and telling us as a group would keep you from contradicting yourself wouldn't it? Last, you came here with Leon, who seemed to trust you, and he might be mad if he found you as a stain on the wall, so you keep to your side of the room, and I'll keep to mine."
He continued setting up small glass beakers, vials, bottles, and tubbing, the things needed for his more dangerous potions [which he though would be a good idea to have along, just in case], and he also had his mortar and pestel out, for the more common variety sciences. As he had the last of his things set up a knock sounded at the door and the gnome ran over to welcome the two other companions to his room. With four people, well, three and a half, in the room, it was a bit crouded. Beezlebum walked back to his desk saying, "Welcome, welcome, now that everyone is as clean as they care to be, shall we get to the business at hand? We had two introductions to be heard as I remember." taking a seat he added, "so, my dear ladies, which shall begin?"
The gnome light a smal fire under a beaker of water and began crushing some beetle wings in his pestel, and though he looked quite distracted, he was listening.

The equipment Bartle had been setting up caught his curiousity with him closing the door behind him and standing behind Diana. An arm pulled a chair away from a table in the room for Diana to sit in as he stood next to her listening to whatever was being said. The introductions of the two women seemed to be what Bartle wanted to address first. Leon was known by all three of them so it wasn't necessarily needed for him to hear it. While talk was being exchanged from one another he turned his head to the strange setup Bartle had going on and then took a look at his pocket that he reached into for his white stone with a black star in the middle of it.

Once the introductions were finished, Leon turned his attention to Bartle for a moment. "Bartle, do you think you could possibly research into a potion that would force the drinker of your potion to transform into a werewolf? I ask about this because if we plan on traveling together then we might need the werewolf's strength. However, I don't know if that's even possible. Leon paused for another moment with a hand rubbing the stone and another rubbing his eyes; he was pretty exhausted from the day's events. "Last thing I need to know about from you three is if you've seen or owned a stone like this one. This specific substance I've never seen before in the form of a stone or any other for that matter. It doesn't seem magical or hand-made. None of the ancient scribtures that I've read mentioned anything about stones with strange symbols embedded into them. Perhaps this is a sign from the gods?" Looking at Ray for a moment and then at Diana, he expected an answer from one of them, but drew his attention back to Bartle that seemed to have theories of this kind of sort. Science men usually do.

Being as a man coming from a religious background, yet not being a very religious person himself, seemed to not likily disreguard that kind of a theory that the gods bestowed upon mortals a mysterious stone that had some purpose or meant something. Feeling his exhaustion more, he sat on the floor, with the legs crossed, next to Diana as he examined the rock. It had a certain kind of feeling to it as he held and looked at it. At this point he would listen to what they had to say before he had to get some sleep. It wasn't that he didn't want to talk, it was more of a matter that how long could he go without sleep.

Having taken her sear,Diana had trailed off in her own throughts for a while, back into a day dream. But it wasn't her usual lover boy one, this was was based on Leon. 'Really ought to figure out how to stop these.' She thought to herself. She was realyl a pervert... I mean all the things that could have happened in that shower...'Wait, a stone?' Her attention from her largest flaw was taken away and she looked up at Leon and she stared at his stone. Her hand moved to the stone that had slipped into her shirt and she clutched it softly. 'What should I do?' She thought again to herself. She had a few options but this must have been a fated meeting.

"Aye... I have one..." She finally voiced softly pulling on the string and she tugged out the black stone that had the blue glow. "Did anyone else hear an eerie voice, when you got it?" She asked. She didn;t like that voice to much. She shook her head some and looked down at Leon, how had sat. She movedher hand to his head out of... habit maybe? And she lightly petted him.

She didn't want to get to far ahead of hte game here. I mean... as much as this might have been a fated meeting... they all, assuming they had gotten stones to, might have more information?

The gnome looked a Leon with a smile on his face, he did so love a challenge. "Well you see, Leon, it would be quite possible to make a potion to turn you into a werewolf, though I'm not sure about one that you simply drink. As you have seen I can duplicate the light of day with a potion, and, theoretically, I could duplicate the light of a full-moon, which should, mind you should, start a transformation. Science is a new thing, however, and requires a lot of trial and error...and this is all based on the assumption that it is moon-light that makes you transform, when it could be something else, like relative possitions of the Elemental Planes combined with the light of the moon... it is a queer thing to try, but I will see what I can do... now, what would make a moon-light spell...?" the gnome trailed off, scratching at his chin and thinking of all the components he had ever used and their various effects...
It wasn't untill the pale Elf mentioned her talking stone that Beezlebum snapped out of his meditative state. "A talking stone you say? Well, that is dissapointing, I was hoping mine would be the only one, which would make it worth quite a bit more than your normal ruby." he took the stone from his belt pocket and held it into the dim light from the oil lamps, the light reflecting off it's multi-fasceted surface and landing out-of-focus red blotches on the walls. "It said something about sticks...which I assumed it would use as currency, but it hasn't said a thing sense. Do any of you know if gems hibernate?"

"Well that's the thing Bartle." Leon paused for a moment and held his white stone up that had a glaring black star in it. "Perhaps these stones symbolize something. Maybe someone either planted them in our path for us to find as a mere act of fate from our own perspective. However, if these grant power of some kind, I wish to discover this power and channel it to further procreate the greatness of potential in mankind, but the canny thing about power is the misuse of it as well. If these rocks hold some kind of mysterious power then we should value it greatly and use it wisely. As a man of the Order, I don't expect to see the world plunder into a catacomb of destruction because of our carelessness." With those many words said, Leon looked up at Diana as she placed her hand on his bald head. An eye brow perked in response to this action because of her behavior around him. She seemed like nothing of the kind of elf he's read about in the monastery's library back at the temple; his real home.

"We should talk more about this in the morning. For now the four of us should get some sleep. Since this room belongs to Bartle, he can decide who shall sleep in the room and Diana can decide who she wants to sleep in her room. So that leaves you two to decide who's sleeping where. Drows and Werewolves aren't very acceptable people in society. So I suggest we decide quickly. Lastly I'd like to suggest this to you Bartle about that transmutation potion. If you possibly can make it into an injection, then that would be acceptable as well. I think since all of us own these strange stones that it would be for best interests that we look after each other." Leon moved a hand to his face and rubbed his eyes while yawning deeply. He was exhausted and really didn't care where he slept, just as long as he would get ample sleep during the night.

((Forgive the shittiness. I know I have not been on in a while. I know, ok? I know this post is going to suck. Don't rub it in my face, I may scream in yours.))

As the conversation turned decidedly to two people, she retreated to the window to stare outside to the white moon. She read her letter over once more to completely soak up what it told her. But, not a soul in the room took notice of her reactions. It was just like the world to shun the Drow. Refolding the letter, she allowed Leon and Bartle to continue conversing and did not join in when they revealed their similiar gem findings. Hers remained safely in her pocket, along with her letter and spare gold. There was nothing that the Drow could say that would help the situation.

As time pased and conversation dwindled, she began to make herself comfy in the window sill, complete with a spare pillow and a ratty blanket extracted from her travelling pack. When the subject of sleeping arragements came into play, she realized that she may not be allowed to stay where she had found solace. It would be just like life to move her.

"Room arangements, you say?" the gnome piped up, a bit flustered. "Look at you two, Leon, all googly-eyed like a pair of sprites in spring. I can tell you and the elf would want to share a room, so you go do that, and tomorrow be sure to burry me in a nice shady place before you hunt down the drow."
The gnome turned his back to the door, falling into the tapping, measuring, and mixing of his potions and mumbling about 'moonlight' and whether it would be smarter to make an anti-werewolf potion first.
Hours passed before the gnome finally finished with his potions, several made and a few needing to sit out, one being the werewolf potion, which needed to soak a good bit of moonlight before it would work properly...if it worked at all. Beezlebum placed it on the windowsill and then turned back to his bed where the drow was curled up in a fetal position, hugging a pillow. If it weren't for the conotations associated with her dark skin, the gnome would have thought her cute and innocent, "Look, Ray, you..." he sighed, the drow was working her tricks, he knew, but she was damned good at playing the good-guy, that is, good-girl. "...you can have the bed. I'm going to go get some wine from down-stairs, just toss a few pillows to the floor for me." He walked to the door, shaking his head, opened it and disappeared down the hall, mumbling about "durned drow trickery."
PostPosted: Wed Jun 28, 2006 8:21 pm

"Bartle I don't know what you're talking about with this claim of googly-eyed sprites in a spring. It's whether Diana wants to put up with me in her room tonight or not. It has nothing to do with emotions we may or may not have towards one another. We've just met as you're well aware." Pausing a moment with a close look at Bartle going about his business with his strange science. It was exhausting just watching him work at conjuring up his potions of mysterious qualities.

Standing was the next correct course of action while the engineer of science went down stairs for a drink. It came to him that such small people often had such a large amount of energy to use during the day. "Ray, I wish you a pleasant night's sleep. May the gods watch over all of us tonight." Leon was concerned for her acceptance and she helped him greatly with his 'problem' that he's been dealing with lately. Hopefully the next chapter in their lives would unfold into a more peaceful one; not like this really matters - just something he wishes for the others. Perhaps it would be best for him to travel alone so his troubles won't become their troubles. Leon has enough to worry about every day of his life than having to worry about three others. With this thought looping through this mind, he turned to the door and stepped out of it and moved himself into Diana's room.

The location he claimed in the room is next to the bed on the floor against the wall. Sitting there with his back against the wall, dangling his head downwards - which was a sign of deep thought - Leon was thinking, thinking about how he was going to survive in this brutal world that he exists in. Pressing a hand against his face with eyes shut, his memory flared up the event in the forest. The demon, the hunters, the violance and destruction. These things he didn't want to bring with him in his travels with the others or to anyone that he travels with. It's carelessness that will injure or kill everyone around him. A side effect of his curse gives him another one - solitude from others. His breathing was heavy and those thoughts were draining him to exhaustion. After this he would be found with this head leaning against the side of the bed with the body resting soundly.

[][][][SO THAT WE ARE ALL AWARE, MEPHISOPHELIAN SOCIOPATH IS OUT OF TOWN AND AWAY FROM A COMPUTER, SO DON'T EXPECT A POST FROM RAY UNTILL LATE SUNDAY NIGHT.][][][]

It was already near midnight; men and womyn were at home, safe in each other's arms, children were tucked in tightly, sheltered from the cold night air, and a lone gnome sat at an empty bar with a small mug of Mushroom Ale, just like they served back home.
The barkeep was busying himself with cleaning the glasses, bowls, and plates that had been used during the day. He seemed lost in thought and cleaned out of mechanical habbit, paying no attention to his surroundings untill a halfling walked through the door.
"No vacancy," the barkeep was quick to say, "but I've still got plenty of stew and ale, if you want."
"No vacancy?" the halfling asked, her voice cherrubic and strangely energetic for this time of night. "My good sir, this lounge seems quite empty to me. There's naught but a gnome, a man and myself, and two people in a room such as this could hardly qualify it as occupied."
Beezlebum, who was busy drinking his ale, gave a small snort, splashing the froth of his mug up his nose.
The halfling gave a slight giggle. "Bless you."
"As I'm sure you know," the barkeep replied, eyeing the gnome and halfling in turn, "I meant I have no place for you to stay."
"Oh, that's quite all right," the small womyn said, "I have a room at the Dragon's Codpiece already. Room number 7, to be exact, second floor all the way in the back." she sighed. "I've simply lost my way."
Beezlebum looked from his mug to the halfling, then back to his mug. The halfling was quite attractive, though small in stature she was still shapely and as clean as the hygeine-focused companions back in their rooms. She smelled of roses. "A shame," he thought. "I should have bought a map of the town earlier today."
"Down the street," the barkeep said, pointing, "left at the butcher's stand, and don't pass the fountain."
"Thank you, my good sir." and she turned on her heels, "Room number 7, second floor, in the back, here I come." She almost skipped to the door, her hips swaying as they were, and then she was gone.

The barkeep scratched his head, then with a shrug returned to cleaning his dishes. The closing of a door jarred him from his thoughts, and he looked up to see an empty mug on the bar, with no gnome near it.
