"Yes...a little." Rei wiped the persperation from his brow and then hugged Jack affectionally. "I'm sorry," he whispered. "I should've told you from the beginning..." He nawed at his lower lip. "You...don't resent me now...do you?"

Jack shook his head with a laugh. "No, I just know to be more careful with you." He glanced toward the shop. "Did you hear a thunk?"

He smiled with relief and nodded. "I did. I think somebody dropped something." He tried to stand, but only fell back onto his nicely shaped butt. "Gah. Some help, please?" He was embarassed to ask for help, but he kind of needed it.

The young woman stopped next to the door of Mr. Jackson Hart's workshop office. Hearing voices, she opened the door and stepped in. Worry instantly hit her when she saw the bottle of Rei's medication on the floor and Rei's collapse onto the couch.
She moved in silently, dressed in a girl's version(almost) of the school's uniform. Her voice was soft and light, barely noticable, "Rei? Mr. Hart? Is...everything okay?"

Martin slipped the last peice in and began to set his clock, "Man, this is really looking cool..." he said quietly as he started the clock and set it in front of himself. He quietly looked around, "I wonder if I can use some paints..." he whispered.

Jack stood quickly. "He just had a spell, Ms. Sugashi. I'm letting him rest, but he's already looking better."

He slowly twiddled his thumbs before standing up and walking out to find the three, "Oh... sorry... Did I inturrupt something?" Martin eyed Rei, "Hello!" he said happily raising a hand and walking out of the doorway, "Hey, Teach, is it okay to paint the clocks?"

"Huh?" Jack blinked at the other student. "Oh, Martin, right? Sure, go ahead. Everything's still good in there, right?"

"Alright...as long as he is okay." Not saying anything else, she passed by Martin and exited the room. She returned to her office and remained there for now.
Rei rubbed the back of his head and waved to Martin. "Don't mind her, Jack. She's a little...detached." He said, trying once more to stand from the couch.

"Oh, yeah eveything's fine." he smiled, "I don't think I've ever talked to you before, so... Hey." he smiled, "... Again. Heh..." he giggled a bit and rubbed the back of his head, and then, with a wince, lowered his hand.

Jack sat on the edge of the couch, putting his arm around Rei, forgetting that Martin was still there. "Maybe you need some closeness. And some more rest."

He snuggled into Jack's embrace and laid his head on his shoulder. "Nah. I'm okay. Really, I am." he said with a normal, bright smile. Wow, nothing seemed to phase this kid; not his heart condition, not his mother's detachment from him - nothing.
Shaking his thoughts away, he looked up at Jack and said something in a small voice..."However...I wonder if I could talk to you...after class, of course." Color flooded his cheeks and he hid his face against Jack's sweatshirt.

Martin looked around the room, curiousity was getting to him, all the nic nacs all around the room and his hand began to twitch, "Nnnng...." he closed his eyes as his hand raised, *poke!* his finger rested on a small figurine in the room, "Whew... glad I didn't break that..." he sighed.
