*He jumped as he bounced around behind her pushing her forward with his head trying to go faster. He did so in a playful way*
"Come oooooonn. We gotta go faster!"

"Okay okay!!" She said hurridly, almost practially running as he urged her on. Dia let out a giggle as she did, knowing that he was playing with her and excited at the game anyway. Her little puppy body twittered in and out of the grass and over small pebbles and over larger rocks. The sun was high in the sky and the sky was a beautiful pale blue. This was going to be a good day for an adventure. She just knew it! And it helped that she had a friend along for the ride as well.

*He kept right behind her nipping at her rear as they ran. He let out excited barks and yipes. Though he had not eaten, he was still full of energy. If any creatures didn't hear them they had to be dear, or dumb to stick around.*

"Noooooooo........you won't!" She barked as she dodged over some anthills that chanced in her way. Dia knew the small black creatures weren't going to hurt her, for she had run over them too fast. But she sure knew they'd be mad. At that thought she giggled and barked behind her at the young male once more, happy as can be. She only stumbled once in her treck when she came across a particularly large stump. But, even that couldn't slow the golden ball of fluff down.

*Running and jumping, dodging and jumping, and knipping at her heels he yipped in excitement. He was Smiling now. Excited, all kinds of emotions running through his head. He barked back*

A long series of giggles rang out as Dia tried to keep ahead, though couldn't get fast enough to keep her heels at bay. She was excited as well, feeling rejuvinated some how and still so eager for more.
"Almost there!" she called out happily.

*Yipping happily, Tanryoku started running at her side, he was nipping at her ears now. He would n** and then jump just out of range so her jaws could not bite back at him. It was quite enjoyable. Then the magic words, already they were almost there. He could not wait to see what would happen.*

She continued on, barking and dodging way out of his nipping range. Finally she stopped and her pale eyes lit up on confusion. "Here..." she murmured, looking around at what they had run into. She didn't remember it being like this! Everywhere around them the land look desolate and almost devoid of any kind of vegatation and plantlife, as if the land had been singed away.

*Joyful and full of excitement he ran after her. THe grass and trees going by them was intoxicating. Everything was going great, but suddenly he stopped in his tracks. He couldn't believe what he saw..........life.....was gone. The trees, grass, flowers, everything. They were burnt........*
"..."
*Slowly he walked up beside her nudging her softly*
"Maybe this is the wrong place?"

Dia stood there for what seemed like an eternity. Everything she had known in her short little life, her parents, her home....though she had been ripped from them, somewhere in the back of her mind she knew that that was where she had belonged. But now....now that one hope she held on to was ripped apart.
"No...it is..." she persisted, a light whimper escaping through her maw, "I know it is...but what happened...?"

*It had been many months since that day. WHen they had wandered into the black scar. That is what he began to call it. A strong spell had befallen them, they could not leave that place. So that is where they stayed. Together. Those months led to a year. And more and more time went by. They grew up, The she-wolf more beautiful, and the male more strong. But something was inside of them eating away. This place was to saddening. Tanryoku could not take seeing her so sad anymore.....They had nice things around, food a river, everything......but this place.......No he couldn't stand to see his companion so hurt. When he watched her and saw her eyes, he could see the into her depths. She was smiling on the outside.......but dying on the inside. So was he. Ovcer the time, he was more worried about seeing her happy than about himself. That is how come he didn't remember the nightmares he had started having again living in this place.....Finally the day came when he could stand it no longer. One of those muggy type days, where the sky was about to let the rains fall, he spoke*
"I think it is time we look somewhere else........"

As the year ticked by and the months that followed Dia grew, she grew into a beautiful wolf, with her pelt seeming to be made from the very gossamer strands that also made up the sun. She had turned into a teen, a wolf anyone could be proud of, but aside from that Tanryoku too had grown up. Big and strong, and his muscles could now be seen underneath his thick fur. It was good, the two of them of them in their own little world. Or....it COULD have been good, it should have been good.
But, this place. The place they were trapped into. It seemed wrong somehow. There was nothing but saddness here and Dia would push through it, she would smile and she would pretend to be happy but on the inside she was screaming with terror. She knew that her counterpart was being strong, for her, but she could hear him at night. At night he couldn't hide the horror his dreams had brought. She would have them too. And it seemed like the more they stayed here the more they were taking hold of her mind's eye. Almost consuming her through and through.
So at his suggestion she was more then relieved, but...she was aslo scared. "But....where will we go?" she questioned, her maw feeling as if it had just gone slack.

*Walking up to her Tanryoku put his shoulder into hers and pressed the side of his head up against hers as if in a comforting notion.*
"We will go where we planned on. We will find YOUR family and pack. I promised to help you find them and now I will. "
*His head nuzzled against the side of hers. As they had all those nights growing up. But before it was always in a snugglying comfy now. Now this was something more. But it was not quite not yet what for. He had no idea that he was maturing.*

Dia half closed her eyes, she could feel it too. Something hanging in the air between them. They were puppies and now they had grown into something so much more, friendship growing into...who could really say? But she knew she trusted him, with everything in her and then some. She would follow him so she nodded.
"Okay, okay," she said, nuzzling him back, taking in his scent as it intermingled with hers.

*He Nudged his muzzle into her neck one more time before looking around. A low rumble was heard overhead in the sky. This was a bad sign for a journy to begin. There would be no food out for the hunting on the way. But it was alright. He wasn't hungry. What of her? Ryo would find something for her. He was like that. She came before him. But it was alright. Their kiddie games had brought them close. He knew alot about her now, as she did him. As pups they were like brother and sister, but not anymore. They were far from that. Now he turned around and stood infront of her swatting playfully with his tail and smirked back at him (Forcing the smile on his face.)*
"Bet I'll beat you to the old cave!"
*He knew she was faster, she always had been. But it was going to be fun, it was going to be a good start. He would make it that way.*
