Unless there are any objections to this, we'll probably select a story from here each month to go in our newsletter. 3nodding

Touched by an Angel
I was diagnosed with severe depression the same week my great-grandfather died. It was just a couple days before christmas. The day before christmas, mom and dad were arguing and my older sister was refusing to talk to me. I wasn't allowed to see my horse because we were staying at our ski house and he was too far away. After christmas, I got a phone call from my best friend. She is like a sister to me. She had been hospitalized for a major panic attack. That same day my boyfriend broke up with me. I went for a walk in the rain/snow and caught a cold. I was back at boarding school by then, and had no one to talk to. So I skipped my homework, risking detention and went to bed early. I didn't want to cry because that would alarm my two roomates, so I closed my eyes and prayed for sleep to come take me away.
As the drama from the holidays sank in and I found I couldn't hold back the tears.... I suddenly felt a hand on my back. It was warm and soothing. A flood of warm light and cool water came rushing into my body from where the hand touched my back. I could feel myself suddenly begin to heal. The hand was long and slender, but strong and firm. I didn't bother to open my eyes to see who it was. I didn't have to. I knew who it was...
It was my gaurdian.
and i smiled and drifted off into a deep, dreamless sleep.

The Spam Fairy *sudden thought* And what if you buried it instead of breaking it each time? Celestial Burden, if you haven't run into the bad stick by now, and the burrieing didn't work, why don't you try burning it? and my story: this occurred long before i even knew what Wicca was. i was about 10 or 11 (im 14 now, so maybe not that long ago....), and i was visiting my brother in Vermont (he went to high school there - boarding school). we were staying in some hotel, and during dinner, i sensed this horrible presence behind me. i was scared out of my mind, and i almost started crying (this was/is very unusual around other people - i didn't even cry in elementary school on the playground stare ). my mother knew i wasn't making this up, so she got up and stood behind me. i wanted her to get away because i didn't want it to hurt her (it was EXTREMELY angry) my theory is that someone probably died in the hotel and was really pissed about it. even now, i think of it and i get jittery. oh, and once i saw a white lady walking across my hallway (uuuggh, scary). my mother thought she was an angel. funny thing is, she still doesn't support my choice in being Wiccan..... i do understand that believing soley in ghosts doesn't neccesarily make one Wiccan, but it might make her more open about it..... sad

After quite a while of lurking, I finally have a story to share! ^_^
Yesterday, our puppies escaped. Our family went to look in different places to try and find them. I volunteered to look in the woods behind our house. So I was dashing through the woods, panicing. I went to this gnarled root that I know fairies live on and around, and I asked the fairies to help me and my family find our puppies. I then continued up the steep path, calling and whistling. And in a few minutes, the uppies were rocketing toward me! So that's my story, not very dramatic but it means alot to me that the fairies helped me. I gave them some food and talked to them for a while after I had dispensed the puppies at home.
EDIT [April 16th 2007] : Yesterday I meditated (my second time meditating) with a vague idea of trying to find out who my 'patron' god/goddess is. Well, as I got relaxed, my animal totem (a great blue heron) appeared and led me, I guess, to this place. It was this lawn beside a beautiful lake and infront of a golden palace. A woman was standing there, with her black hair in a bun. And then she opened up her hands and a fiery red bird flue out of them. Throughout all this my eyelids were absolutely shaking, for some reason. Anyway, I came out of the meditation and ran upstairs to look up the goddess I had just seen in my book (the book of goddesses by Kris Walderr). Well, she's the Chinese goddess Hsi Wang Mu (also known, I believe, as Xi Wang Mu). Anyway, she lives in a golden palace on the mountain Kunlun, near a lake, with red pheonixes and white cranes. She grows peaches. Apparently you can only visit her with an invitation, so I guess I got pretty lucky. ^_^

Ah, since I'm new I havent told you about my ghost experience. Ive had a few but this is the one that was more shocking.
My mom had a friend who was doing a documentary about psychics and ghosts at some houses and an old trainstation owned by our local Historical Soceity. I was 16 at the time and begged her to find some way for us to go. We got my dad to work one of the cameras there. So we could go. Only on the condition I would help dad however.
But, things didnt go quite as we planned. We arrived there early and started to get set up. As more people arrived, one of the leaders announced, they needed people to follow psychics around and write down where the ghosts were etc. I decided to volunteer and my parents let me. Well...to be frank.. I ended up getting what I like to call a Dial A Psychic, she had the headdress, gaudy jewelry and robe. So I followed her around and made notes. Around this time, everyone had left the train station and were moving elsewhere. So I followed the psychic around. But then my stomach started to turn and my head pounded, I started to see colors in front of my eyes. I had to sit down and breathe for a second, before I could stand back up again. I followed her once more, but again this happened, only much worse. The colors I was seeing before my eyes started to blurr my vision. I had to sit down again. By this time, the psychic started to go get help. I was left alone. I panicked and stood up, running to where the psychic had gone. When my vision went black. Total pitch black. I blinked, but still couldnt see anything. I tried to scramble around, finding a wall and meekly using it to find my way back to people. And as soon as I heard voices and a hand touch me, I fainted. I woke up lying down on a bench and staring at the ceiling. Thankfully I could see again. It turns out the train station was considered a portal between this world and the next, from what most of the psychics said, also, there was a evil entity around when I had awoken. I ran to my parents and stayed with them the rest of the time. With mom we also saw a record player turn on by itself unplugged and supposedly broken. None of this we got on tape of course, and nothing else happened to any other people. Only around me it appeared. But that was my first ghost experience.
