Once the door was actually answered things seemed so much more awkward. Apologies weren't something Sid was naturally inclined to do. "Hey..." He said. "I brought you your-" he glanced down at the object in question. "Uh, stick. I also wanted to apologize... about before."

Newt made no move to open the door further, his large eyes twitching from the old man, his stick, and back again, "Ap-ap-ap-apologize?"

"For the, uh... misunderstanding... that one day. I reacted poorly." He gestured vaguely, as if he'd find the words easier that way. "And I... I mean I was still in the process of relearning to talk and such."

Newt glanced over him again, his throat twitching in a distinctly froggish manner as he thought. "Ah... OH! Y-you... you w-were... th-the m-man in the v-vi-village wh-when I w-was..." His headdipped down in an embarassed fashion and he opened the door a little more, offering a glimpse into the dark dank that reeked heavily of cigarettes, mud and garbage.

"Oh, is that what it came off of?" Sid glanced at it. "Guess it is..." He should have known that. Still, it might have had some value. "Do you want it back?"

"Ah... un... unless y-you're... ah... using it or som-something... I th-thought I'd l-lost it..." The frog man half hid behind the doorframe shyly.

"Nah, I'm not..." Past experience had led him to feel like he was walking on eggshells. Just be cool, no sudden moves, watch what you say... easy. He offered the broom handle out.

Newt reached out with a trembling webbed hand and took it, pulling it back to lean over his shoulder as he glanced back into his messy duplex and out again. Inside, a large black bug was crawling up one of the walls, but he seemed to ignore it. "Ah... I... um... th-thank you."

"No problem." Sid smiled, and nodded and took a step back from the door. Things weren't getting any less awkward, amazingly.

"Ah... " Newt felt very awkward as well. No one generally came to his door to pay a visit. The last time had been Cody and he had ended up goign back down again. "W-would... w-would you like to c-come in?" He offered timidly. That was what you did in situations like this, right?

Sid glanced into the duplex and from what little he could see he wasn't so sure he wanted to. He forced another overly toothy smile. "I should probably get going, actually."

At the thought of potentially showing someone some of his projects, the frog had lit up, but when the old man declined, he sagged, holding the broomhandle in both hands. He wasn't in his jumper as usual, but a white undershirt and a pair of pajama bottoms that looked rediculous with his large flat feet sticking out of the bottoms. He nodded, eyes on his toes, "Ah... w-well... th-thank you... for ah...."

"It's cool. I mean, you're welcome." Sid nodded. "Maybe I'll see you around?"
